@Multibjarne His signal chain went: Guitar --> Crybaby wah (dunno which model) --> Dunlop Rotovibe --> Boss delay (I think it's a DD-3) --> Boss GE-7 Equalizer --> Amp, with a footswitch for the amp's distortion. In this song he's using the Rotovibe in Vibrato mode for the deep, pulsating guitar parts, and he's messing around with the delay's knobs for the freakout in the middle of the song. Cheers.
I think the best way to describe Kyuss is Bad Ass... So heavy, and so damn groovy. They taught me to listen without distraction and took my own writing in a whole different direction. No one rocked like them.
grazie deadguy138,cercavo questo filmato da tempo ,visto che ho avuto la fortuna di essere stato tra il pubblico in quella puntata di "segnali di fumo".grande ricordo, grandissimi kyuss!!!
i was in london at Hermano gig and gave my kyuss tshirt to sign to john garcia and he wrote there kyuss lives SMOKE ! when i hear this song i know what he ment...
INSANELY cool!! That was unfuckingbelievable...would've LOVED to see these guys back in the day...them and Fu Manchu...can you imagine?! THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS UP!!!
Fu Manchu is still around...in fact their on tour for their new album...hear it's good, the funny thing is I went on their myspace and I found out they are located in where I live...at first I thought my myspace got hacked...lol
you can see and hear that he switches the rotovibe of first (no click) then wah of and then distortion. you can do that with a midilooper with one footstep!
I do agree on that, but nowadays he seems to be to be doing no to so good. I mean I don't want him to sound like Kyuss again, but the first three QOTSA albums are so good, what happened?
Awesome video! I love seeing all the Kyuss up on youtube but not enough of the band "Sleep" someone should find a live version of "dopesmoker" and split it up into sections so its easily downloadable
Its probably so the lower strings wouldn't be overpowering, he plays open C through a bass amp and they're probably heavier gauge strings, also probably contributes to that droning fuzz sound too.
Anni novanta: avevamo i kyuss e altre band di un livello e bravura pazzeschi. Anno 2022: nonostante il declino della musica la razza umana era sopravvissuta. Passo e chiudo
interesting, what kind of effect uses Homme?? sounds a bit octacer and a pitch shifter! Does anyone knows what it really is? Great material!! Awesome song!!!!
@wooboy11 Tack, will do that. Have 13 year old twins need to show them that sweden has alot to offer Music might be a good place to start. PS just booked for us all to see Kyuss Lives Can't wait!!
@MsCSimmonds Dude, those Nordic countries are doing great... check out Graveyard as well, the name may seem cheesy, but they produce a very exquisite type of stoner.
@Gruehn saw them last year in in dresden germany. got goosebumps. it was fucking epic. not many germans can make music like them^^ im sry for my english.
thats intense, woah^^ thats why i LOVE stonerrock! dudes? i wont spam now, but do you know COLOUR HAZE ? theyr damn good too^^ again: i just want to spread that kind of music because its pure awesomeness x)
People seem to forget how important Joshua Homme is to rock music.... especially in the last 20 years.
He's incredible .!
Ain't nobody forgot nothing.
i hereby declare this as the greatest instrumental song ever
you are goddamn right, kind sir
cant get this song out of my head
I can't believe that a tv station would broadcast this stuff. Hell yeah!!
And incredibly it was an Italian TV programme... Nowadays we've returned to such mediocrity
To a certain extent same here in Britain but more or less anything goes on tv..just not enough amazing music shows sadlly these days
one of kyuss most trippy songs. I just love the final section.

Cousin It is an fantastic bass player. And this is my favorite Kyuss song, tied with Demon Cleaner.

I think the best way to describe Kyuss is Bad Ass... So heavy, and so damn groovy. They taught me to listen without distraction and took my own writing in a whole different direction. No one rocked like them.

Thanks deadguy for keeping this clip up. My first bookmark on UA-cam.
damn, Josh has some sexy tone on his guitar.
josh homme is as close to a rock-god guitarist as this generation can produce. thank the horned one for letting him roam our planet.
This is a very interesting instrumental track from Kyuss as it shows off Josh Homme's prowess as an innovative guitarist.
Beautiful concert instrumental from Kyuss. Kyuss liked playing in small clubs, they were noncommercial (= good). Extra song! :]
I can't believe they got to play this song on tv. These days you can only play the hit single
The bass was on another level. It seems like I have to check out his other works.
I love this track..a masterpiece
scott's kind of playing is fucking lovely
My favorite instrumental ever.. EVER!!!!!
the music sound very like Black Sabbath, BRILLIANT
It's mighty and splendid
i was in london at Hermano gig and gave my kyuss tshirt to sign to john garcia and he wrote there kyuss lives SMOKE ! when i hear this song i know what he ment...

Yep, just wish those Guitar Hero form members would see eye to eye with me on this one....KYUSS must be known!
Fu Manchu is still around...in fact their on tour for their new album...hear it's good, the funny thing is I went on their myspace and I found out they are located in where I live...at first I thought my myspace got hacked...lol

you can see and hear that he switches the rotovibe of first (no click) then wah of and then distortion. you can do that with a midilooper with one footstep!
excellent!
@wooboy11 your right, thanks for that. im always looking for new music
I do agree on that, but nowadays he seems to be to be doing no to so good. I mean I don't want him to sound like Kyuss again, but the first three QOTSA albums are so good, what happened?

I can't believe this comment is fifteen years ago!
os cara são uns monstros
this song is so fucking raw and powerful especially live, it's volatile
I would kill to see them live if they ever get back together, which, knowing Josh, is unlikely to happen in the near future.

Sorry but i'd have to say that Scott Reeder is the coolest guy there....his rickenbacker rocks...
dunlop rotovibe with a boss delay, theres a wah on the floor also, but can't make out anything else
what type of pedal does their guitarist use to make that wierd feedback sort of sound in the beginning
Which LP are you looking for? Wretch or the one when they were the Sons of Kyuss?
Whats Josh doing at 1:40, is he playing with a wah pedal or what is he doing and with what kind of pedal?
ooooh yeeaaah
@MsCSimmonds Dude, those Nordic countries are doing great... check out Graveyard as well, the name may seem cheesy, but they produce a very exquisite type of stoner.
What pedal is josh using and turning at 1:30-1:40?
sick
Anyone know what effect box or types of effects Josh uses here? I'll appreciate all answers!!!
