Perfect live version. I still listen to their 'Faith' album daily, along with 'Seventeen Seconds' and 'Pornography.' After all these years, I love them every bit as much....
17 sec & Faith were the greatest! Maybe it's just me, but they never seem to fade into synth rock, or laughable time pieces. I started with Kiss Me, but I can hardly listen to that now. Disintegration is great if you remove Lovesong & Lullaby, but still not as great as those 2
Always and forever, thanks to Britain and the British people whose creativity since the 1960s has given the rest of the world hundreds of prodigious bands such as The Cure and a music of beauty, a quirk and an atmosphere like no other. What would our lives be without British groups ?
I never thought that I would find myself In bed amongst the stones The columns are all men Begging to crush me No shapes sail on the dark deep lakes And no flags wave me home In the caves All cats are gray In the caves The textures coat my skin In the death cell A single note Rings on and on and on
Супер альбом!!! Всё вспомнил, как гулял с собакой в зимнем лесу, падал снег, в наушниках эта песня, собака обоссала берёзу, я подумал : как же здорово жить.
I like Sofia Coppola's films- especially Lost in Translation And her taste in music. Wasn't pushed about Marie Antoinette until the end with that Cure tune... now I'm sad. And happy....
“No shapes sail on the dark deep lakes and no flags wave me home” I feel those lines like I feel my soul I’m not okay nor near to be and I’m lonely even with ppl around I feel empty like I’m not here anymore I miss my grandmother I miss the life I used to have I miss myself I miss having fun being who I am and don’t care about anything else I miss not being worried about anything I really want to feel again live again have the chance to be happy again
I was at this show. When they played 'All Cats are Grey', it was really ethereal and haunting... more than what you see in the video. The whole foggy atmosphere, the reflective music had the power to just transport anyone to another place. The whole 'Faith' album set list was the best in the trilogy concert, if I can be honest. The album- 'Faith' really sounds like how it looks and means what it says. It may be considered to be monochromatic but perhaps it is the most emotional and deepest of all Cure albums (even 'Pornography'). These are not songs for entertainment- in fact at times, it is a difficult to listen for even the ardent of fans but something that offers kind of a reflection and solace to the listener. P.S.: Maybe something trivial to all those reading this but I was standing in the exact row right at the top (Standing Gallery) at the Royal Albert Hall. I was in full Cure attire, long black overcoat, dark red shirt with powdered face and lipstick (just for this particular gig). I perfectly remember the moment Robert Smith was looking towards us at the very top. Here it shows in the video clearly. :- D
Such a beautiful song! Can't believe how many idiots screaming over the ending or the whole time they played... listen & enjoy!! I wish I could have been there...
Shit, how I would have liked them to play this song when they came to Argentina in 2013. Thanks Robert, you have no idea how deep your music, your lyrics got to my soul. I hope you play again in Argentina.Back in april 2013, that night was magical. hugs and thanks, again and again
@@TheIanoTube instinctively, would have said Lol. And for me, he was the best. Just read the book and may be it was Andy Anderson. Or even A. N. Other..

Sounds maybe strange with all their great songs, but this one is my favorite, don't ask me why, i don't know, it gives me such a strange kind of feeling..
He shared a plane flight with Robert, and suggested the idea of playing the 'Faith' album live. Robert suggested back they performed 'Three Imaginary Boys' 'Seventeen Seconds' and 'Faith' in their entirety. A couple months later Robert was putting the shows together. I read it in a recent interview with Lol
Haha - that's exactly what went through my head too. I read an interview with Roger O'Donnell. Apparently they alltreated him really badly. He was trying hard to cut down on his drinking during the Disintegration sessions and they'd do everything in their power to get him as smashed as possible. According to O'Donnell. Then he got kicked out of the band for being an alcoholic.
They were very cruel to him. Robert Smith admitted in an interview that had he been Lol's lawyer when he got taken to court, he'd have won the case instead of lost, and that they mentally tortured Lol, probably not realising the damage being done. But due to Lol's not remembering so much, none of that came up in court. Very sad. I'm so glad they reconciled, because Robert and the Cure mean a lot to Lol, and always did.
Boris Williams had such a magic touch. Sorry but Jason sounds like a machine compared to the personality of Boris' 1/4 beat delay. I happened to hear all cats are grey yesterday and from the very start of this video it seemed "off" then I realized it was too "on" meaning it's all the same rhythm , no pop! Edit. It was even Laurence Tolhurst that did the original better than this monotonous beat. .
This song is a masterpiece. The greatest song the Cure ever made.
Perfect song to soothe the soul.
Been my favorite since the 80’s!
Una de mis favoritas, escuchándola en invierno en crawly
35 YEARS I HEAR THIS SONG AND ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL THIS SWEET BITTER CURE MELANCHOLY OF MY ADULT AGE
AGREE
My favourite
Me too ❤️
THE most underrated cure song of all time
Laurence Tolhurst is back on stage. As Robert Smith said for the return of Simon Gallup:"once Cure, always Cure"!!!
Perfect live version. I still listen to their 'Faith' album daily, along with 'Seventeen Seconds' and 'Pornography.' After all these years, I love them every bit as much....
So do I. All three, every day.
Simon spoiled this one on this tour by playing octaves where they didn't exist on the album version. it ruined the usually low and slinky bassline.

Gillian Gill same here!
Is it me or does the outrow sounds off key at times?

What a great song! Thank you Robert for sharing your beautiful gift with us 💘
For me, this is the perfect song they’ve ever written. Plus perfect for headphones.
amazing to see Lol playing keyboards...
I was there. I cried.
I like Sofia Coppola's films- especially Lost in Translation And her taste in music. Wasn't pushed about Marie Antoinette until the end with that Cure tune... now I'm sad. And happy....
My dear The Cure playing one the finest tracks they ever made, glad to know they are still together, make all of us happy.
the best...
God I love this band. The atmosphere is amazing. The way Robert sings, moves, just the look on his face, it all speaks to me.
My favorite Cure song.
A masterpiece by The Cure, the lyrics are just perfection.
OMG!! Both Keyboards makes a amazing atmosphere full of melancholy, peace and sadness. Wonderfoul!!!

this song... so haunting and perfect.
Tolhurst wrote the lyrics.
And co-wrote the music, and those hypnotic drum patterns.
I miss his drums...don't want to knock Jason, he's been there years, but...

Such a beautiful delicate timeless song.
The first half of the track reminds me of the tune that plays during Pvt. Leonard's breakdown in the lavatory in Full Metal Jacket.
