    Best suggestion ive seen is to have rare metals be an output from processing salvage at refineries. They could control the drop rate and incentivize people to make more mats for the war effort.

    • @The_CGA
      @The_CGA 10 місяців тому +3

      Could be okay, but also might sequester more mats into private stockpiles for the “no sharing” type people

    • @Nevyn94
      @Nevyn94 10 місяців тому

      @@The_CGA would let people that are wanting to make ships get a stockpile, and those that dont want to have anything to do with it can put them to public, course the amount should be something silly high in that case (1.5k for like, 15 metals maybe)

      Makes total sense to me, you're taking heaps of scrap to a refinery where it's sorted and processed. They find some bits of rare metal in the piles that eventually add up to some units of Rmats. I think that's a win win, or at the very least way better than what it is now

    I'm not a logi player (although I do want to get into it) but seeing logi players suffer is never a good sign. Hope they'll fix it in one way or the other.

    My clan actually set up on a Scrap field specifically to take advantage of the Clanman swarm. We’re making _so many Bmats and Msupps!* And all the boring hard work is being done for us by the other clans!
    Best idea we’ve ever had

    I have encountered the mass clearing of scroop fields.
    I just grabbed my flatbed and tried to get as much dropped scroop as possible.

      Ha! Happened to me as well last night on Conclave. Normally only 3 or 4 of us on the island then boom there was like 10 people all scrambling for rare metal.
      Stayed up little more than I wanted to make sure a lot of that scroop was in the refinery turning into bmats and emats.

    Facilities have Metalworks Factory, specifically the Recycler sub-branch, why not make it so you can process raw salvage into rare metals/tech mats/broken comps (at different salvage to goal resource ratios ofc). Devman dropped the ball on that one ngl.

    • @The_CGA
      @The_CGA 10 місяців тому +1

      Could be ok
      Could also put all the regular stuff of war inside of *NO TOUCHING* refineries. Recyclers for example, not nearly as much sharing like gas stations (oil infrastructure seems to be a success)

      In the past the devs had scrap turning into components before they changed it to broken components. It was considered horribly inefficient and toxic as you'd have to clear an entire field and then fight to stop people from stealing from it as anything in the facility inventory is public. Yeah it would stop people from droping it on the ground, but now you'd gaurentee the scrap wouldn't have any chance of becoming bmats or emats.

    I have emptied many salvage fields this war, and I'm yet to see a single rare metal. I haven't seen many tech mats either. To me it just feels like the system is completely broken. In my opinion it just needs a total rework.

      Tech itself is fine.Im part of CRD for Colonials and our rates are about the same. Of course it has slowed down a little after the new thing but it's sort of 1/4 as it used to be a 1/3

  • @RMMinc

    As i said multiple times naval is going to be broken for 20 wars minimum.
    They pushed the shiny feature in a such short developmenttime period, which is impressive. But this is such radical addition. Devs didnt even have the time to code new drop mechanic and used Tmat one.
    Personnaly, I think Battleships should be the world structure, limited by amount of shipyards like nukes before. Everyone can commit to building one and everyone can use it. Add vote system so you need set number of votes to control the battleship. No fight over R metals needed if everyone can benefit.
    Destroyers and subs should just be build without R metals, with just facility resources. So much pain for a submarine, that can maybe sink a freighter on a lucky day /o\

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому +4

      Well I don't know about 20 wars...ha but maybe a few wars of growing pains.
      That would be a really cool idea bout the one battleship! I like more ideas with more teamwork from the whole faction and not just big clans.

      I like the world structure idea.
      Maybe not like one battleship only, but make the drydocks the world structures, where building the ships take some time. Perhaps even 24 hours. That way no matter how many materials people hoarded, you can still only produce 1 per day. (Per docks)

    I do not play this game. Logi has always seemed more intresting: if i want to play a frontline shooter game in a similar style im sure i can find it elsewhere. The idea of the production of reasources being all produced by me and that my effort will help a greater war effort is the most fun part. TBH, despite being a massive naval history fan, the discovery I could just drive supply trucks around most nearly tempted me to buy the game.

      Truck simulator and quartermaster infrastructure -opolis really does have a lot of depth, there’s a lot of practical learning about civil engineering, “municipality”
      As far as the combat side this game is unique in how little you know as a soldier, how valuable staying alive and emergent non-gun-holding tasks can be in the hot zone. Simply surviving and saving teammates is often thrill unto itself-no other game I’ve played takes me back to the experience of the IRL battlefield like Foxhole

    I like your idea where, rather than have them drop randomly, this stuff is instead made out of raw materials in facilities. This both introduces scarcity due to production costs AND solves the locust problem (or at least forces said locust to USE the stuff, NOT WASTE it) AND removes RNG factor.
    THIS is what we need. Push that idea further!

Also i suggested an idea in the feedback channel on FOD saying that there should also be ship wreckage that spawn on beaches on the new islands. they drop a small amount of rmetal so island hoping for materials might become a reason to visit the islands outside of combat. That also gives opportunity to bring back old gunboat turrets that maybe could be the new ship wreckage

    To make a enriched uranium it requires a expensive centrifuge that takes tons of rocks refines out the uranium over a long time. Because ships already are facility heavy production perhaps rare metals need to be made in a centrifuge type machine where you put one entire container of salvage Into the machine and after 2.5 hours you get 1 rare metal and 5k salvage. The cost being in putting your salvage in purgatory for a while as the facility machine filters the specks of rare stuff into one whole bar of rare metal.

    • @checkmate058
      @checkmate058 10 місяців тому

      First issue with my idea is what's to stop people from tricking the machine by putting the 5k salvage back into it to make another rare metal? So perhaps the centrifuge take 5k Salvage and makes 5k broken salvage and 1 rare mat

    I would say that being able to craft the rare metals makes a lot more sense. But It would need to be A LOT of pieces and complexity to prevent ship spamming. Alternatively, maybe tech mats could be used to build these since they seem to crop up more towards the end of the tech tree anyway.

    Scrap and Components should just be replaced with ore mines that have an unlimited amout of ore that can be collected from a limited amount of nodes. Ore can be converted into Bmats or Rmats at a rate of 2:1 or 4:1 respectively, and rare metals have a drop rate of 15% out of ore nodes. Boom half the logi grind is gone, and rare metals are still random. Devs get their ridiculous gatcha game to prevent big clans from fielding 6 battleships, and logi players no longer have to spend hours getting just the right ratio of different materials just to make a crate of tanks.
    There are too many different crafting materials in what is supposed to be a top down shooter. This game has more crafting materials than Project Zomboid and Project Zomboid is a crafting survival sim. That's the issue.

    i feel like the naval update is the update that no one wanted. it added a ton of toys for big regiments. small groups / solo players will probably never get to use a sub/destroyer let alone see a battleship. i think siege camp should invest into server cap not adding pointless things that only big groups will use or be forgotten in a few wars. FIX THE QUES SIEGECAMP STOP ADDING DUMB SHIT THAT SPLITS THE PLAYER BASE EVEN MORE! update wars are always the worst so hopefully it improves in the future. p.s. i also cant wait to see the drama that comes out when people start stealing battleships and what not lmao the civil wars are gonna be nuts.

    It's nuts to me that there was a logi strike because people had to travel too far to get to the front line. And now when the grind is 10 times worse and far more toxic, people are just twittling their thumbs and taking it.

      I think with the naming of it being "rare" materials, it needs to have a form of scarcity.
      And if you made it's own node that can't be refined until later tech, it'll get camped and bullied. E.g an off shore mine. This could be interesting if each faction had 1 in one of their backline rivers and then had to go into open water to gain 1-2 more. However the risk is clanman bullies for a few wars until the new naval units aren't shiny anymore.
      By having it made from existing materials at a high production cost, it wouldn't be a "rare " materiel, because it gets made. But that's me focusing entirely on the word Rare. Perhaps swap rare with something else.
      Alternatively, have the rare/refined alloy be made entirely out of a combination of the 3 tech mats, with a higher than normal production cost/effort, to encourage it be handed onto large dedicated processing facilities to reduce waste/ discourage hoarding from small or too casual clans(too casual to finish the job with the materials anyway).
      I like the idea of more diverse ships pre destroyer/submarine tech, but I would have to see ideas, as I'm not sure how that could look.
      I am a new player, war 108 first war and these are my initial thoughts.

    • @Ninjamilk_
      @Ninjamilk_ 10 місяців тому +1

      Sorry to not include this, as I've only just thought of it, but back on my idea of it being tied to wreckage:
      Land wreckage has a small chance to turn up rare mats, but create a sea wreckage that has a chance over 60% to drop a qty(to be determined/balanced) of rare mats. Sea wreckage can occasionally be found on beaches, but mostly in open water.
      New boat, is a water harvester, but different, like faster but low inventory like 14 slots? Mines sea wreckage using a crane operated drill/ hammer/ other machine? Hit F to deploy/anchor to use?
      The sea wreckage conversion rate is the inverse to the land wreckage, high chance of Tmats and rare mats, small chance of bmats.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому +1

      That is a really interesting idea! Who drives them? Are they on a set path or can they go to any place? Are you saying they should be more like bunker bases or relic bases?
      I'm very curious about this idea. Interested to hear from you on this!

    • @Katvanished
      @Katvanished 10 місяців тому +1

      not like they change from how they exist now, but rather they function more litterally like bases do now- like a cross between a base and a vehicle. having supplies in the ship lets you spawn on it, so a ship's crew CAN be a collection of random people, because just anyone can spawn on it. arguably vulnerable to griefing, but probably some sort of shipwide vote system would allow for quick handling of seats. how bunker bases now work I think would be an ok comparison. they were built by a certain clan definitely, but everyone spawns there and uses the facilities. this should expand to large ships so people who don't play with clans, get to play with naval too, and no ship will be under-staffed. in terms of communication a ship-wide voice chat would probably be good@@RobertLovesGames
      it might be problematic to have a moving spawn point, so players who spawn on a ship might spawn as "sailors" who have lessened combat abilities

    So if you don't have 5 man core crew but rather 25, on a destroyer, where exactly are you gonna put the randoms that are inevitably going to spawn on board? Ships with small core crew and randoms were quite successful. The devs themselves said those ships will have public function too. We won't see swarms of battleships with 5ppl on board each yet. Be assured.

  • @RyanMWilliams
    @RyanMWilliams 10 місяців тому +2

    I would love to see the rare mat system change but I imagine the idea was that we would need to work together across clans and even across coalitions. We found a solution to the oil field drama but they also added coal power plants as well, so maybe they can move the rare metals into wreckage nodes on a chance basis but as another user mentioned adding some facility driven refinement process that simply requires grind. Also it's possible to make the refinement of rare metals into rare alloy more of a grind with a richer recipe.
    It's also possible to limit the number of dry docks and large ships by adjusting the decay mechanism so effectively there is an upkeep. Possibly they suffer decay like any building when they're anchored and require time in a dry dock after so much time running the engines. Maybe that's a little too larp but along the lines of a boat is a hole in the water you throw money at.
    Thanks for sharing your insights.. I also noticed recently that the offshore platforms were removed so I'm guessing that mechanism is either being reworked or was abandoned completely.

    • @RyanMWilliams
      @RyanMWilliams 10 місяців тому

      On a side note.. I've been working the same field and have never once seen rare mat fall there. You know the one, so if that's the one where you found 80 rare metal you might need to increase the number of times you clear a field to get more data points.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому

      Wreckage nodes wouldn't be a bad idea but I like the refinement process more just because it takes out the RNG element.

    Twch being replaced with rare metal drops I'd genus it gets rid if tech transh at the end of the war and helps speed up of the building of ships

  • @NoEndingInSight
    @NoEndingInSight 10 місяців тому

    The devs have a system that dynamically changes how much tech drops based on some hidden system. Probably as a balancing lever to balance tech progress. My guess is that they have some simular system for rare metals to control how much drops. So if no one farms for it you'd probably see way more at each field, but since it's being farmed so forcefully the amount drops to limit the amount given to keep them "rare". In that regard I'd say they've succeeded, although I can see how its creating a negative experiance for players as the time required to grind is invisible so they push hard thinking they could have enough at any moment.
    A suggestion I have is to have every field drop some amount of rare metal towards the end when the scrap nodes run out. That way players can build infrastructure to process/store/move the scrap with train lines or freighter ports since it'll be more consistant. Then they can spread out to optimize the number of scrap fields being run at the same time. This would also prevent research from being ignored as iron/copper/alum wouldn't be affected and would be collected while looking for rare metal. Scrap will still be dumped, but it'll be more likely at fields further away from logi towns.
    As for the side effect of scrap being dropped on the ground, I understand people's frustration with wasting material but I'm also seeing a huge increase in the amount of public scrap, so it seems more is being used than wasted. You could also think of it as every minute a field spends not respawning can be considered wasteful, so if the field gets cleared then its the same as not being cleared at all. Only an issue for fields in regions with access to refinaries and players willing to move it.

    I think a temporary solution to the rare metal drama is to introduce a new player made role, which is the captain. The captain creates a squad that is specifically linked to the ship, that clans can freely join. The team needs to select captains, like they do quartermasters/tech maids.

    Honestly from what I've seen I really don't think the salvage dropping thing is a problem. Every scrap field I've gone to with materials factories built next to it has insane amounts of scrap, msupps, and/or cmats in the factories. Most people are willing to walk for 5 seconds to dump the materials they don't want into a conveniently placed building. And even if people at the field are simply dropping it on the ground all it takes is one person to shuffle them into the buildings in less than a minute.
    Scrap is more abundant than I've ever seen it be before. Anyone who wants some merely has to pick it up and transport it. I believe the playerbase will adapt quickly to take advantage of this new dynamic.
    My regiment's plan for next war is to build a large facility next to a scrap field. We will place around 5 materials factories adjacent to the field which will practically fill themselves with scrap while we sleep and do other things. I believe setups like this will become very common due to how lucrative they are.

    after a full war and observation of how the wardens conducted themselves, I blame both devs and players for this problem, because just like facilities neither side will operate within the vision of the other, when devs added facilities they expected one or 2 facilities per hex manufacturing everything those hexes could provide and trading with other hexes to create an efficient logi loop, players on the other hand have an in group preference and will desire to have their own personal stock of facility stuff
    this whole navy update has just rekindled this conflict, devs want large ships to be a strategic target where the loss of one will be a serious blow that the FACTION needs to come to serious terms with, where as players desire that grand navy experience of sailing the high seas with friends and utterly devastating their enemies in grand fleet battles like they are admiral Nelson or strike unfettered fear into their enemies while sinking weeks of work in wolfpacks like Otto Kretschmer
    also as a warden I will say...large ships were UNGODLY numerus...there were at least 50 large ships outside quietus ALONE, and that was a "risky" port to dock them all at and many did sink but were replaced within hours (thanks FMAT!) so large ships arent really the "oh so rare" thing everyone made them out to be, this was just a case of early panic buying like toilet paper during 2020 and by a few days in both sides had tons of ships, wardens could lose 3/4ths of their sub fleet to collie DDs who outnumbered them 2 to 1 on the eastern flank and it was recoverable, I was grinding enough rare metal to make about 3 hulls every field between 5PM EST and 3AM EST
    overall I don't see a serious issue with these changes as a logi player because...I can just dismiss them, I'm a solo who has no regi obligations and as such can just say screw it, sell what I got for 15 thornfalls and call it a day and I pity the regiments that are willingly going against dev's game vision because it is objectively in the regiments interest to not play the game as intended, thus leading to devs needing to crack down on it...by making decisions that don't change the status quo of the game but just make it more extreme (sub region modifier) and forcing newer players into this quasi-laborer role where they have to be the Msup scrapper slave with 40 other guys to a 32K Msup an hour FAC making....1 STD and a few 94.5s because the main FAC guys only play for an hour a day unless there is an operation
    so to end this bit, my final answer to this 4 week old video with a full war behind us is: meh, it's just more dev game vision conflicting with players natural inclinations

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  9 місяців тому

      I think we just need more communication tools honestly. Ways for us to see more resources in facilities and around the map. I think this would help with selfish hoarding. It wouldn't completely fix it but it could help.
      Funny about there being so many battleships this last war when everyone at the start didn't think we would see hardly any lol.
      I think the new wreckage addition for war 109 right now is a step in the right direction. Helps with less drama over comp fields. Maybe something similar will happen with rare metals in the future.

    So i saw a post on reddit a few days ago with a possible solution that i liked alot... Someone said(cant remember who exactly), why dont the devs make tech and rare metals drop in refinarys ...? So for example when you put (lets say) 5k scrap to turn into Bmats then every now and then while its churning tech/rare metals pop out into the refinary stock pile. You can even put some drop rates depending what queue you use... for example ... if you use private then it has a 1% chance but if you use public then its a 4% chance (you can place these on all 3 types (Desil , E-mats and Scrap)all share this number). That way you HAVE to refine the scrap in order to tech and get stuff for ships etc etc... thus iliminating waste and promoting public resources . Imagine how much resources we would have with this system.

    One idea is to have it take a mix of other exisiting materials that you have to combine in large numbers - doesn't have to be a complex chain and don't add a new base resource. Once the new factor is gone in a few wars, clans will look and compare it to other things they could build for the same cost and it will balance out.

    I want to see an full revamp of the tech system and the resource systems. I think that the way you unlock stuff that you should have from the very beginning of a war is dumb. Instead of unlocking new types of weapons. We should be unlocking better versions or variants kind of like real life going from Sherman’s to pattons to abrams. I’m not saying each faction should have the same strengths and weaknesses but each faction should be strong at something and weak at something else. Rn the collies are mostly weak and the wardens are mostly strong. In the long run this will keep burning out the community till it’s dead.

    good way to incentivize ship construction and keep them acceseible but also prevent them from being overpowered, make the ships themselves even battle ships use bmats and R mats to initally construct, but the ship is unarmed almost entirely initially, to arm it you need to spend further resources to construct the guns onboard it,and said guns can be shot and destroyed mid-battle, requireing repairs by onboard crew and if entirely destroyed require reconstruction at drydocks, and constructed weaponry of course the biggest and deadlyist of which require the rare alloys and rare metals, this also would allow you some leeway on ship construction itself, such as makeing the main guns modular between different gun types and thus ammo types, you could also have upgrades to the ship functions itself that require rare metals, so while you can somewhat mass produce all ship types, so naval players can alwas scratch that itch, but the truely powerfull ships would require alot of investment to upgrade, and would be packing the firepower and upgrades to warrent that
    IE make the base battleship upgradeable with landing craft launch points, the main guns have the option of the current cannons, or rocket arty launchers, you could also upgrade it with harpoons to forcefully attach yourself to enemie ships, to force boarding actions, or all sorts of stuff like that, all of which requires resources to get installed, and some are muteually exclusive, IE you could make a ammo production facility onboard a battleship, but lose access to a section of the ships guns to fit it aboard
    that would be hella cool, and would certainly allow clans and large amounts of players to truely construct there own flagships to lead into battle, similar to large constructed BB

    u dont understand how tech mats drop
    they r not affected by rare drops
    it looks like this cos u look at it from 1 field perspective
    but overall its the same
    for easy proof look at last wars and how long it took to tech each tech tier after rare drop started
    for colli this war
    T7 ( drydock) to T8 took 48 hours
    T8 to T9 took 58 hours
    the war before that one ( not pre patch)
    t7 to t8 = 48 hours ( like 10 mins less than war 108)
    t8 to t9 = 54.8 hours
    as u see the difference is just 2 hours in second case and no difference at all in the first case
    rare mats did not affect tech speed of colonials
    this is due to a simple reason of tech drop being not affected by the amount of fields scrooped (from a world cotext perspective)

    "Using a combination of resources to craft the metals so you can reduce production enough so there wouldn't be any ship spamming"
    This -- would -- not -- work. Foxhole players have proven time and again that no cost is too high. We see way more super tanks than the devs were expecting and those costs are truly absurd. If we go higher than that we'll still see ship spam from large clans and they'll just complain the grind Is too high In the game.
    "Tech mats should not replace rare metal drops". The devs said during dev branch that these things do not impact one another and has been accounted for. You dont get lass rare mats, you dont get less tech parts. This is evidenced by the fact that the tech has gone exactly the same pace as every other war.
    Around 8 minutes or so you bring up is grind getting too much? See my first point where you asked for grind to increase.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому

      True. That's a good point and I think I kind of mentioned that as well that no matter the grind there are still groups out there that will push the limits and get things done. But just because they can still complete the task does not make it right to make it more grindy. This is why we have burnout.
      For the tech mats is it only going the same pace because of the increased node spawn time? I don't see how it could be the same otherwise if you have whole fields that are just simply rare metals and don't have any tech mats. It has been while since I focused on the tech side of Foxhole so I may be out of the loop.

    If you have an unlimited source, then there is no such thing as waste. It is just unused as it has no value for the player.
    I have created more resource containers than all previous wars together. And now I have unlimited salvage for free.
    I would really like if it would be added to coal fields also. Free coal would be even better than free salvage.
    It was always the problem, that not enough players wanted to scroop. Now this problem is almost solved.
    I agree it should not be random. It could be like for every 1000 swings you receive 1 rare alloy.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому

      That's one way to look at it. The resource might not be lacking because it's unlimited but the communication and coordination is suffering because those resources could be used to help some front. So your right.
      The salvage is flowing more than I have ever seen it flow before ha.
      1000 swings for one rare alloy would be interesting way to do it!

    I personally think its better to just allow us to have the ability to convert tech materials into rare materials if they really wanna stick to what they got. Should've just stick to the usual assembly materials requirement but no, thats not how they want it. This rare material scarcity along with selfish and non-cooperative clans that claimed oil spots.. and completely unnecessary gacha mechanic in an already time consuming game have pushed me to the edge. I'm retiring for at least a year or two but will keep tabs on the development.

  • @majorplothole2620
    @majorplothole2620 10 місяців тому +1

    Both. Blame both. SURE. the Devs caused it to happen with yet another stupid mechanic - but it's the players once again doing the absolute worst reaction to said mechanic possible that's helping to cause this.
    and with how rare these metals are - if the devs, rando players and small clans think there will EVER be some big collossal naval battle somewhere... you have to be kidding. No clan man is going to risk their basically billion dollar vehicle - especially when you consider how people already behave with battle tanks and super battle tanks - they run away as soon as they can if they can. they don't want to risk the thing that made their regiment's logi players bust their ass for weeks to build.
    The area I'm in has been harrassed by a destroyer off and on the past week and every time it gets counter batteried, by howitzer or normal arty - it immediately withdraws. probably doesn't take more than a little leak and go down to 80% hp or something. BUT that's too much for them. it's too risky.
    if they want naval battles to actually take place, they're going to have to make them easier to build and risk the 5 man battleships that will inevitably be seen.

    • @RobertLovesGames
      @RobertLovesGames  10 місяців тому

      I can get behind blaming both. Especially because I'm normally on the side that if you know about an exploit don't use or abuse it even though "its in the game".
      I bet we see quite a few battleships go down this war.
      And I think they will become cheaper in future wars.

    I know the rare metal drama sucks, but technically, wherever there is tragedy, there is also opportunity. If you are someone not interested in tech drops (like me), you could instead build a scrap storage facility right next to it, as a place for them to drop the scrap they don't want. Then you'll never be short on bmats and be able to build all the fully stocked bunkers you want, MWAHAHA!

I think before facilities it was realy balanced, the gameplay loop was great not too grindy but no too easy as well, I like the facilites idea but it needs tweaking same as naval. Devs rly need to take a step back and rework the system as most of the new players they have gained from the naval update will leave just like what happened with the 1.0 update.

    Yeah I blame Clan Man and their don’t-share-with-pubs mentality. I do blame clan mans, yes. Clan Man’s philosophy of “for me and mine” is really at the heart of it. I ghosted my regiment because of how obsessive the CO’s attitude about building up our logi stockpile.
    Regarding particular *countries* and their regiments I don’t have anything in particular to say, there are definitely certain attitudes and shouty-at-pubs takes that come more from French, different attitudes more from Eastern Europe, from Oz, or from Murica. There are also nice clan mans from all those countries, too. Where there actually is a particular cultural background informing the ash hat behaviors, we might do better to actually talk about it and ask questions, rather than pretending color blindness to how the culture of clan mans affects things. BTW I never get to talk with East Asia Clan mans, but they’re the ones doing cool infrastructure and logi things-
    Why can’t rare metals randomly pop out of a refinery? Or maybe a half track size vehicle or structure “cooks” the scroop on-site…and re-deposits the UnRare scroop as easy to mine “junk” piles (don’t displace salvage node) that might be lighter, stack taller, fewer hammer swings, etc for the non-clan mans to come after. Plenty of design space left over in the logi mechanics. If anything I don’t think the devs “leave it too long” before updating logi, so much as they are very cautious to preserve the design space for future releases, keep the rhythm of wars steady. That said, we are getting to a place with so many new players that I’d like to retain, that we need some new toys for “river unto my people” type logi mans. These new kids very correctly have no interest in joining a toxic F bomb shout fest club.

    I knew this was gonna be a problem. It is definitely a clusterfuck of stuff being wasted but hey it's their wasted time... All that said I do agree they are messing up with tech but it isn't as bad as people think. Up until they started spawning tech was pretty much the same. Now it's reduced a bit... As each field now spawns 4 things rather than 3 but that was offset by the faster drop.
    The funniest thing is that people are complaining about it being random drops but tech has always been this way. The only problem right now is that people want them enough to waste the salvage.
    Alllll that said it is not ideal. We need a better way to channel these to the right place I'm certain a patch will come and yes we totally need work on a ton of things. Overall we can't measure so it can't be happening. just like facilities they are grindy cause anyone can take so it goes into the well make more than what you need cause people will take

    Is the game getting too grindy?... Robert, come on :D This game is endless grind. But there is a strong line between fun grind like clicking lmb to point and shoot at something, acquiring intel, planning a flank, and holding lmb to see your character swing a hammer for 15 minutes and then hold W to see your truck going through barren wasteland. Logi is a job right now and it's never going to attract enough people so that all fronts are painlessly supplied. And we are not even talking about building which should be faster/automated with how many means there are to turn t2 bunker into dust in an hour 7 days into the war. You can spend 3 hours hammering the bunker by yourself and enemy clan sets a gunboat on you so it gets demolished and no one wants to repair, and the only fun you had was designing the bunker. Logi needs rework into being actual gameplay. And facilities need to be turned into player-built factories that can have queues, not what we have now. And the tech system with tmats needs to go, so we can at least use only mines.

    Factions need to get together to create a Central Command, who directs regiments. Those regiments turn have control over the front. I'm sorry, but this game sucks major ass when it comes to coordination. Unless you're in a regiment, you as a solo/squad will get NOTHING done. Regiments aren't incentivized to share with others, and don't. If factions had a central command who controlled the flow of resources independently much like literally any real army every front would be well equipped. Instead you have front who're hanging on by a thread living logi run to logi run, and other fronts that have 5k shirts, 10k guns, 30k ammo, tanks, cars, and other shit that they're not even using. The only time anyone shares at is at the end of the war when stockpile doesn't matter.
    But this will never happen. We'll all continue to be locusts, and blaming each other when a regiment 'loses' a hex, because regiment B is a fucking hoarder, and doesn't offer support. I have literally watched two regiments roll up on each other with fucking tanks, submachine guns, and artillery to kill off another faction so they could get metal. It was so stupid. Watching a minimum of 50 people, and HOURS of work all used to fight each other is so dumb.

    If the devs made a Battleship equal to a SHT or a SHT and BT for cost, it would still be difficult but doable. The rmat drop is a joke. Even if clans had to use steel mat and process it to rmat for ships would be better/easier than the mat drops now. Maybe if the devs put in a third tech tree solely based on resources (processing time/cost etc) and have that tree unlock after the other tech trees so tech can be used? Give it a war or two and shit will calm down. I am not a fan of wasting scrap and teamkilling is pathetic just to rob fellow wardens of mats. However the brutal truth is that if you are not in a clan you really have no business with these materials. Its not that I don't think people should not be allowed to try but knowing the complexity of not only making them but crewing them I'm afraid these large ships are really only plausible for larger or extremely well organised clans.
    Something I think needs to be said as well. I honestly don't think the devs want more than 8-10 ships per side per war because these things are the end of the end tier tech and if the oceans are flooded by these things the game will suffer badly.
