Wow it worked! Boil it, 10 minutes medium high fire, 5 minutes low, 5 min left to rest. This is the first time I have made good rice. Now I am confused how much salt should I put lol
Try 1 teaspoon per cup of dried rice. Been doing this for years and it comes out perfect every time!
Do you do 10 minutes on medium high heat with the lid on or off? He thought he was making it simple but he was not. He was not clear at all.
@@marieanne7569lid on always
@@marieanne7569 I think I got it,
High flame till boiling,
Lid goes on, then lower the heat to Medium for 8-10 minutes,
Then low for 5 minutes.
Off the gas till the lid goes a bit cool to touch.
I hope I made it understandable 😬
Thank you for the comment reminding me to put salt 😂
I was caught up in the wtf is medium high fire 😂😂
Thank you so much. This was my first time making rice and when my mom tasted it she said it was better than hers.
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
It will be mines to after I do what the video says but do I have to add any ingredients or is just rice and water no oil no sauces
@@MrMangoHopNice 😎
@MrMangoHop experiment, find out what you like

"This is not open-close, open close" 😂😂 Well, I failed already
Same mine boiled over 💀

Swear 😂
I fucked up already 😒 too man
I tried this method and it came out fluffier than rice made in a rice cooker! Thanks!
You said “from medium to high” but showed yourself going from high to medium, so I’m lowkey confused, and what did you mean by a “base?” What was the five finger technique for? Soooo many questions
He meant medium high heat. He just worded it weird
He meant high to medium 💀 obviously it started on high for the boil, just lower it to medium for 10 minutes
@@chrissontt1311 Thanks. I was confused by that as well...
Just making sure hahaha
@@chrissontt1311wait so is the lid on during those 10 mins or only put it on after?
Mom won't make me white rice so gotta do it myself, gotta get the gains 💪
You got this💯
Bro my wife told me I was being lazy my rice never comes out right
@@evrickmcpimpn lol
rice has like no protein, what are u talking about. its just carbs
@@aljoschavskorea32 carbs are good for bulk
Isn't it should be High heat to boil, then medium heat for 10 mins, then turn to low heat for 5 mins. Off the heat and stand 5 mins. But it will be totally different if you're using Electric stove and gas stove !! Must adjust the time of cooking and standing !!
Mine was similar. On High to get the boil, then on 7 for 10 min. then on 3 for 5 minutes then off for 5 minutes
I made my first successful rice based on the suggested adjustment in your comment. I’m forever grateful for you xo
Yea this video is very confusing
I tried it on the electric stove before seeing this and it burned 🥲
I caught that too & I'm taking your suggestion. Ty
I 100% trying this thank you. I’m so so bad at making rice probably because I’m white as hell, but I try you know.
There's a much easier way than this.
1) Buy a rice cooker.
2) Keep washing the rice until the water turns clear.
3) Put clean water in the pot.
3) Put your finger in and water should be up to the first line on your finger.
4) Press the start button
That's literally all you need to know xD
YOU GOT THISSSS!!! Let me know the result 🥳
@@timothyahn2006 this is for people that don’t have a rice cooker…
@@timothyahn2006if you buy a rice cooker youre just putting 1:1 rice:water and you just put it with the line
Im trying this rn and im also very white so lets see how this goes
Hands down my favourite rice cooking tutorial
Family loved the rice I made first try thanks to your video, many thanks to the chefs
Do you mean bring to. Boil and then bring the high heat to medium?
I think so because that just confused me lol
I think he’s saying, after broiled, bring the rice to medium high heat for 10 minutes, because he started with a high heat. I might be wrong though.
Here’s a good tip for beginners. One cup of rice and two cups of water. Always double the water
If you're gonna make a good rice it's not by cups.
Thats for a different type of rice for example Mexican rice
@@antonio__3697Mexican rice has to be fried in oil so you're wrong! And this coming from a Mexican! ✌✌
That’s a rule for longer grains
Well his 10-5-5 RULE -YES RULE! Was broken by him saying to go from medium to high heat. I almost burned my whole apartment building down! JK but you should have re shot that part of ur video
So confused on what your talking about here
@@Ben_Kunz He's a Whi-Guy. It's mandatory he center himself or say something snarky/stupid to get attention...
He said boil it (on medium) and once you see it boiling, then up the heat to high. Do not put a lid on yet.
After 10 minutes on high, drop the heat to low and put the lid on. Do that for 5. Then after 5 minutes, turn the heat off
I use this every time.and my rice is always perfect
Do you put your finger to the bottom of the pot for the 3/4 or from the top of the rice to get the correct water level?
from the top of the rice.
Asian Jasmine rice requires less water (and lesser if it’s the first harvest) than American rice or Indian rice.
I think he used Asian rice.
A third of your index finger is how I learned (mannny moons ago). Different types of rice use different amounts of water. I use long grain basmati rice which requires a slightly different method. Cooking rice is the easier than first imagined. Enjoy🎉
Thank you for the video man, Saved me from under cooked / Mushy rice😅
I appreciate you bro. Now I got my chicken and rice!
I have seen this being called perfect steamed rice in almost all Asian countries. But I am Indian, particularly from West Bengal, and here we make steamed rice in such a way that rice doesn't become sticky and clump up, basically you can separate each grain. If I were to ever make rice that looked like that, my mom would beat the shit out of me.
Just made the best pot of rice my life‼️‼️ thank you so much 🤍 My boyfriend is going to love it!!!
same it was my first time making jasmine steamed rice and it came out perfectly 😍
Thank you. The other tutorials are so complicated this one is gooder and simple.
my friend said i'm an honorary asian cause I'm on a high protein diet and tuna and rice for breakfast most days and know exactly how to rinse it

Ty so much guys first time making rice and I could believe it after I follow your video it was perfect like yours Ty guys !!
I make mine different n it’s perfect every time.
god this just saved my life
Perfectly explained my guy..,thank you so so much!!!
I fry my rice in butter before adding water then use about the same amount of water.. then I bring it to a boil, and turn it down to medium/low heat and cover it.. I just eye it from there .. about 15-20 min
Boil
10min medium to high
Lid 5 min low
Off 5 min?
same question
Basically u let it sit for 5 mins in its own heat
No,10 min med, then 5 min high, 5 min off gas
Trying this now! Thank you
Made rice for the first time and its mushy so here i am.
This was my first time making rice and it was PERFECT ❤❤❤❤. Ty so much I LOVE YOU
Same it was my first time making jasmine steamed rice and it came out so perfectly 😍😍
Mucho gracias!
Thank u guys 😅 best teachers ever 😊
Thank you so much💜💜💜
I've been using the asian method for measuring rice for a few years now, and....yeah it's actually perfect evey time, no cap.
Please give a better description for us slow ones😊
I love my rice thanks to you!
I followed your formula and it worked perfectly.
Normally, my rice comes out like $hit; all soggy and sloppy (disgusting!)
But I made my first batch of real Sticky Rice tonight and it was great, all thanks to you!!
Thank you!! 🙏 😊
Usually I fuck it up cooking rice in a pot, but this time it was almost as good as from my rice cooker! Thats an amazing hack!
It works beautifully 😊
Bro u just blessed with this video much appreciated
Love authentic cooking does something to my soul 😊
I love youuuuu, thank you sooooo much. I cooked rice at least 4 times and it was always baaaad. I followed your instrucciones and it fucking came out yuuuuuummmmyyyy. Thanks again ❤
One of my favorite chefs
Thank you! ❤
I’ve tried to do this so many times and every time the rice starts to burn after 5 minutes of med-high heat with no lid 😢
This is exactly why I'm in the comments. I've not tried the method yet but that didn't sound right. I recon he said it wrong. Must mean from high to medium. Just so the rice simmers and cooks through.
Add oil so it doesn't burn from the bottom
@@itsDjjayy and that wouldn’t fry it?
THANK YOU!!! I just made this and WOW so perfect!!
I like that 10 - 5 - 5. I usually do 10 medium, 15 on low/simmer to evaporate.
So 10 on high is to soak the rice. 5 on Low to get the rice soft without overcooking/burning. And 5 to rest to evaporate, and keep the rice nice and fluffy.
🎉Thank you for this tutorial! My rice came out banging!!!🎉
💯it works, I learned from his videos
Does the five finger rule not change depending on the size of the pot? I imagine some pots that are wider and lower would need more water to reach the same area on the hand
Use the index finger rule. Easily eye-balled. 1 tsp salt to 1 cup (250ml) rice.
Yo this was perfect!! Thank you
Thank you!! I just made the best rice ever bc of you guys💗
Thanks so much I never made rice like this it came out so good
Yall rock❤
Thanks chef 🔥🔥🔥
What i do, is turn it to boil, then once it does, put lid on. Then, turn it down in between low and medium for 16-18 minutes. It's very good
I trust their recipe!
Thank you for this ❤️ my rice came out perfect just now
I’m actually trying it your way rn it’s 7:24am
It has to b different on electrical stoves cuz my rice burned when I had it on High and it wasn’t even 10mins
@@DamageDelaGhetto43 you got the carbon bottom pot too? lmao ima try this rn but i think have it on medium or medium high then turn it down to low

Thanks it worked!
Thank guys came out great 🙏🏽💯
🙏🏼 LETS GO LETS GOOOO!
I just made it and it was perfect 🤩 thank you for sharing
Thank you so much everything you said worked I finally got it !!!
I will try this way to make rice I hope will be better than before.
So you say, once was water is boiling, go from medium to high heat for 10 minutes.
The water doesn’t boil at medium.
Then put the lid on for five more minutes on low. Then turn it off for another five minutes?
So do you put the lid on after the ten minutes from boiling to medium heat or before?
Making Cubans proud. I try telling people there’s an easy way to make rice in a pot and if you love rice it’s the fluffiest rice you’ll have have, it’s literally the same but w turmeric, cumin and Bay leaves. *chefs kiss*
Thank you

Thank you for this recipe, I followed it and got a delicious popcorn
10-fye-fye rule😂💪🏾💪🏾
I wash my rice 3 times then soak it for 30 minutes in cool water. This hydrates the grain into the center so that it steams evenly, then drain and add water1 1/2 cups per 1 cup of plain white or jasmine rice, I use this method on most rice. You can use this with mexican rice as well and just fry the rice in oil until its dry after straining it and then add the broth or water. then its bring to boil and 15 minutes med/low heat and 10 minutes off the burner, then open lid and fluff with fork.
So doing this next time I make lunch, thank you!
🔥🔥🔥
& my rice came out gr8; first timer too‼️
That’s what I kept doing opening and closing it before but when I listened to your video my rice came out better than ever
thanx for showing only parts of how to
Perfect bomb rice. So delish 😊

Yummy 😋
Perfect,gamsahabnida😊✌️🙏💯😎🔥🔥🔥
🎉🎉🎉U guys are sooooooo funny and gifted🎉🎉🎉
So is the lid off for the first 10 minutes on med-high, then on for the last 10 minutes on low?
lid always on
These guys are bang on 🎉
I'm making rice this way right now. My question is, what cookware are you using a metal spoon in? Is it scratching it? I want a set, thanks.
Doing this right now..
Will it stick to the pot at all? Will I need anything other than just the water? Thank you in advance for your help and video!
I know how to cook rice but I love it Asian style
