congratulations, were in the approval process now, had our virtual design center appt, now going to our 2nd appt in mid April, You have it on point step by step, ifs
We also live in California and we're building with KB HOMES in winter haven Florida. They just started the ground work last week. We did everything online and via face time etc. The process have been great so far. They send pics every week, although it's just been 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend KB HOMES to anyone. I also want to say that these same houses in Florida with bigger floor plans ,you get them starting at 300k plus, here in California with kb homes you get them starting at 500k plus, which I think is ridiculous, how the hell an average family will be able to afford a home in California. Just crazy .The place in winter haven Florida is called LAKE LUCERNE, not to far from Legoland and pepper pig theme park.
Congratulations!! That is so exciting. I definitely agree with you about California- the prices are just crazy. KB has been wonderful for us throughout the entire process, we are scheduled to close in 2 weeks. Best of luck to you!
Hi, we are considering a KB home community in California. Did you have to come up with your full deposit in December during closing, even if the house wasn't finished until this year?
We actually only had to pay an earnest deposit of a few thousand upon signing up, and the rest was not paid until closing. We did not close until the house was completed. I hope the process goes smoothly for you!
We are building with KB also, in New Braunfels. We started in January of 2021. I still don’t know when we are closing and it’s June 2022. Was supposed to close Aug 2021. For us, this has been frustrating, especially seeing people close whom started 8 months after us. Congrats. They build tight houses. I can’t wait to enjoy.
Wow, I'm so sorry! Do you know what the hold up has been caused by? I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. Hopefully you will be able to close soon!
Yes, an "earnest money" deposit that will be put toward our down payment when we close. I think each community's deposit amount is different, we only had to put 1K down. However they do ensure that if for some reason your loan isn't approved, the money is completely refundable (at least that's what they told us).
It only took about two weeks from getting notified that we were approved for the loan to when we got the email they had started on the house. Hope that helps!
@@theadeyz oh wow! That’s fast! I’m in Colorado and we got approved and underwriting Feb 2nd of this year! Still waiting for permits! Stinks that we’ve waited this long and no progress.
@@StevieD44 Wow, that is a long time. I'm guessing it is the city that is the hold up? We have had some delays throughout our process as well, it took about two months to get our HVAC installed due to shortages. We are currently at the drywall stage and they're estimating a closing date of 6/16.
We are near the Katy/Cinco Ranch area. The building process in total took nine months, due to supply chain shortages. Not bad though and looking back it definitely feels like it went by quickly!
@@theadeyz that is pretty fast ! I’m hoping to have one built as well what did your credit have to look like ? Did you have to be at the same job for a year ? I know that’s what’s needed for LGI homes
@@immonienarcisse3558 Yes, at least if you go through KB's lender they can be pretty strict about the job thing. I'm self-employed but my husband has been at the same job for two years and they needed documentation to back that up. Credit score basically just gets you a better interest rate
Oh my goodness, they basically asked us for every document of our lives! Definitely get organized before starting the process- I wish I had done that! From driver licenses to W2s to Letters of Explanation describing every place we've ever lived, the documents were a lot. And they continue to ask you for more documents throughout the entire process, which I hadn't known beforehand.
Basically the most recent paystubs.. must have a 2 year employment history.. 2 years W-2’s.. your application must have the 2 year Address.. make sure you clean up the addresses on your credit report. 2 months bank stmts to show your funds to close.. if you provide earnest money, provide the bank stmt to show the funds came from your own account.. if you have recent inquiries, you will need a letter stating if new debt were opened.. So everyone’s situation is different so you may need other documents.

So happy to stumble on your videos! We’re in the process of all of this right now, also in Houston, also with KB homes. Thank you for your insight 😊

@brandihillcom No, we're closing in December. Got some recent pics and I must say that the house looks great.
How much money do you think we should have saved up in order to get approved?
Can you do another update maybe a regrets or what you wish you’ve known or chose to after the two design center appointments
Sure! I can do that and try to upload this week
We’re also in California and building in San Antonio with KB. So far so good and supposed to close early February!
Congratulations! How exciting!! I feel like there are tons of us Californians moving out to TX!
Where in SA? And at what price point?!

Please tell me that you’ve closed 😅
Great video!!!. So much information. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
By the way, you look like Jodi Arias. 💞
What community, I went with kb lender in October and only got the 9foot ceiling, 4000 in upgrades.
Did you have to put a deposit down before building?

How long did it take from getting the loan approved to getting permits approved?!

You need a verifiable 2 year employment history.
Marvida has KB home the Marvida Trail, Trail South and Preserve. Building with Marvida Trail right now closing next month.

I don't like KB Home - lots of issues.
I’m looking at Kb now, what issue did you have?
