Glad to see you include the rationale for your swap and un-biased options! Good to know that 12vs works well off an older style Lincoln. Much appreciated.
Look into a Multiquip Whisperweld. These machines are amazing. Diesel , you can barely hear them while running full tilt. Amazing weld quality and good features on the welder. Rented new ones and just recently bought an older unit for $1,500 CAD with only 1000 hours on the Kabota Deisel. Check these machines out Zac
Whisperwelds are awesome I absolutely love using them but I've never seen one mounted on a rig anywhere not even on the internet. There must be a good reason why nobody runs them on rigs. The only reason I can think of is that they are pretty wide and bulky but that's my best guess.
I have the exact same machine. I bought it used. and yes I noticed it does bog down a little when I am running 7018 at about 135. does that happen to you? haven't tried gouging yet.
I’m still considering that 302 I told you about but the guy wants $6500 and I don’t think it’s worth anywhere near that. It’s sub 200 hours but it’s still an older unit
It's pretty solid, nothing like the pp400 but it's the same as any other lift arc machine. The pro/pp 400 you can adjust the arc length when it shuts off the arc. It's crazy nice
i have never heard a welder even my old sa250 that was louder than a grinder. Either you have extremely sensitive hearing or there is something wrong with the welder in general. i honestly never even hear my welders when i am working as far as loudness. i listen to how they are running but the sound never hurts my ears. but i also have tenitis so bad from head injuries that i welcome other noises

Seen a few on jobs but never had the chance to run one

Haven't noticed it as bad after a couple fuel filter changes and some Lucas fuel treatment
How to do a wire set up on this?

I can see not wanting to spend that much, figure a new 325 diesel is 20k though
@@DarlingtonFarm so I’ve gotten him down to $4500. So I may buy it
@@michaelt.9372 not bad
@@DarlingtonFarmso a year later I’m still working on getting it. I got him down to $5000 with the trailer it’s on. So I’m gonna get it.
TB 302 and PP304 are good machines but you better have a set of ear plugs if working off the truck.
Absolutely! I definitely prefer my pro 400 for how quiet it is
How’s the tiggin on it ?

Try one of the high speed diesels, they are crazy loud. Ive had two and both are just stupid loud.
Are you selling it ???
Probably going to keep it, actually really like it I'm up to 100 hours on it now. Other than it's loud I really like it
@@DarlingtonFarm i know you had a 302 tb gasoline, what did you do to it?
@@BlatantRealm it was a propane one, I sold it to a buddy
