EXCELLENT Lecture on the overview of the Korean War, as opposed to the standard battle-by-battle lecture. One thing that this lecturer didn't dwell on enough was the centrality of Mao Zedong. More than likely there would never have been a Korean War OR a Vietnam War except for Chairman Mao. He expended incredible numbers of Chinese lives and resources in these two wars, which he believed would make him a bigger ruler than Stalin. Though he never stated this specifically, I believe that he foresaw that by 'sponsoring' these Wars-of-Liberation against the Capitalists that ultimately he might come to rule something like a third of the earth. He did frequently suggest that he thought he would come to rule the whole planet, but it is doubtful, that he ever believed he would rule anything other than a wide swath of Asia. After Korea, Mao believed that he could quickly take over Japan, Taiwan, & etc. From Vietnam, he believed he would take over the all the other nearby areas as well.
Really, all wars? Whose side was he on during the Punic War, Rome or Carthage? What about the some of the Roman Civil Wars, for example was he for Marius or Sulla? If Truman wasn't human he must have been Mars!
The surrender of Japan shouldn't have been signed on Missouri. It should have been on the Enterprise, the ship that had seen the most combat and played a huge role in a war that saw the carrier become the most important warship. If not the Enterprise, it should have taken place on one of the repaired Pearl Harbor battleships. Instead, this historic event took place on an unimportant battleship because of the vanity of an accidental president.

Your hero Truman is connected to all wars, pal. He wasn't even human!

I got 20 mins in. He mentions Kim's meeting with Stalin to request support to invade but doesn't say what Stalin's response was.
One point is not correct. Most of the PRC POWs' families are in PRC, not in Taiwan.
The DPRK didn't receive AK-47s.
