    I've been using a Floyd rose for 40 years now. IMHO its the best system on the planet once you get used to it. Stays in tune forever, That alone should make it worth it.
    People get intimidated trying to set it up. I came up with trick for this along the way. We know that Changing one string at a time is usually the best practise but....
    When I string them up, "mostly when changing string guages", I do the following:
    1. First over tighten the rear spring a bit, and then shim the bridge"whammy bar side" with some pennies to get it to your desired height
    2.(make sure the spring is tight enough to hold the pennies in place).
    3. Put your strings on and make sure your "fine tuners bridge" are in the centre so you have equal adjustment each way.
    4. Tune the guitar the regular way.
    5. Lock the nut.
    6. Now loosen the rear spring till the pennies fall out.
    Your guitar will be almost perfectly in tune. The subtle adjustments can then be done with the fine tuners.
    I wish I could patent this but I can't. :(
    Great content Clint! Sometimes I unsubscribe just so I can have the pleasure of subscribing again...haha

      That is so true, experienced, and pro aproach, but I find that dive only is the way to go, when gigging, they can be blocked easily and always return im tune, and when I brake a string? Just unlock it and unwind tuner a little bit and Im done in seconds. Just always bring a key 😊

    Got my hands on one of these a few months back mint condition exact same model here. Best guitar I’ve ever owned. I’m primarily a metal player but I’ve always had a thing for the feel of a strat. This thing was the answer for me because it’s pretty much a super strat built for heavy players. The neck on this thing is beyond awesome. And I have guitars that are worth a grand more that don’t quite feel like this one.

    This guy is a good player. I'm sure he practiced a lot. Especially on his facial expressions. He definitely plays in front of a mirror.

    I got this one but in the hot pink on a "clearance" for 648.00. Amazingly solid guitar. The splits and middle position are nice surprises. Amazingly fast neck too. I am still intimidated by setting up the Floyd Rose, so I've had my guitar guy change the strings and adjust it is set up. It's a very good guitar for the price. It never goes out of tune.

    i tried this guitar in a shop and it was amazing. it has a Strato sound with a comfortable slim neck like an Ibanez. it is too expensive for me but I bought the little brohter of it, the Jackson Adrian Smith Sdx.
    Thx for the review!

    Thank you Clint. This Charvel seems to be as versatil as a Strato is. Do you see any diference between a strato body vs Charvel? Charvel seems to me more...squared, am I right? Thanks again.

    • @ClintCurtis

    Great playing! This guitar is very interesting!
    It would be very nice if you did a comparative video between this guitar and a fender stratocaster sss. Are the split coils at bridge and neck, a little comparable to the single coils of a stratocaster playing with clean and bluesy tones?

    • @ClintCurtis
      @ClintCurtis  4 роки тому +1

      They are especially though a tube amp with some breakup.

    • @PieroCompagnoGuitar
      @PieroCompagnoGuitar 4 роки тому +1

      Great! It seems a very versatile guitar. Maybe a stratocaster has a much brighter and screaming tone on high frequencies than So Cal?

    • @ClintCurtis

      Mine was tight too at first. Take it slow is all I can say, and maybe ask on the Charvel Group on Facebook.

      Cheers Clint, I managed it in the end by easing it both ways then it became workable . Awsome guitar that's so versatile, good for everything I need. Great video by the way, your ability far exceeds mine, but I'll keep plugging away 🤘.

    I love Floyd's, but to be honest, a Kahler is just as rock-solid tuning-wise, but doesn't eat up as much sustain and Bass response as a Floyd since there is less wood removed during installation. This is a SIMPLE Physics conversation and I DO like Floyd's very much too. So all the idiots who want to argue back and forth over my general comment can save their breath lol

    “Slippage” and locking the tuner to fix it makes me think you aren’t using the locking tuners how they were intended.

    • @ClintCurtis
      @ClintCurtis  6 років тому +1

      The tuners aren't locking tuners, just regular tuners. They're not great quality, but once the lock nut is locked it doesn't matter.
