Ten years ago, I discovered Jen's channel back when it was called "myhousewifelife" I was sixteen but still interested in her content despite not being a full fledge adult, but netherless I was along for the adventure. I'm a few years away from being in my thirties and it's been great following Jen though out her journey on UA-cam. I learned many things and can't wait to see what comes next
I used to pack for each of my kids in a one gallon ziploc baggie - couple of pairs of underwear, 1 pajamas, 1 pair of socks, and one change of clothes. I’d stick it all in one baggie and vacuum suction it down to nothing (roll then zip shut) and stuck it in the bottom of their backpacks. I did this to make things easier in the event of lost luggage. I did it on the way home too just in case of unexpected layovers. I’d put it in their backpacks first at the very bottom and they knew to just leave it there. (I do this for myself too if I am checking luggage.)
When my daughter was little I packed each outfit including socks and undies in a one gallon ziplock for the suitcase. This saved on space and time in not having to pick accessories. Made getting dressed so much easier, then when dirty I put them back into the baggie. Worked out great for our Disneyworld trip when she was 3 1/2. Hope this helps anyone.
I always gets such great tips from your videos. Now that I have a toddler and we’re starting to travel, these ideas will be so helpful. Thank you for sharing, as always.
Are you and kids okay and safe? I have been thinking of you after the Highland Park 4th of July incident...of course I don't know what part of Chicago you live in--but just reaching out of concern. Hope all is well.
A few of my friends have older kids (older than an age in which eating random things is no longer an issue) and they sewed an AirTag inside the heads of their lovies and kids security blankets just in case they ever got lost while travelling or out somewhere.
Omg. I used to subscribe to you i guess 6+ years ago? I remember when you announced that you were pregnant. I randomly thought of you posting about training for the Disney marathon and tried to find your channel and i found it!! Love from Virginia❤️🫶
Definitely agree about not having kids names on backpacks, especially at this young age. If you ever got separated or while they’re away from you, it opens the possibility of some bad person to call them by name and trick them into thinking they know them and are supposed to go with them. This is standard stranger danger safety, in a lot of PSAs by police/law enforcement agencies.
The odds of your child being kidnapped are about one in 300,000. To put that in perspective, the odds that you'll choke to death are around one in 3,400. Nobody wants to steal your kids.
Perfect timing, we are doing a big road trip at the end of the month! My daughter loves stickers so I will have to pickup a couple of those repositionable sticker sets!
Hi Jen I think you would like the yoto mini product for kids it’s screen free and they can listen to books and all sorts of things! Your kids are so lucky to have such a thoughtful organized mom!
Your comment regarding water bottles on the plane got me tickled! My last time flying I totally sprayed a couple who I think was behind me. I didn’t even know anyone else besides myself got hit until I heard them asking where it came from. I was mortified, but thankfully they were understanding and got a laugh out of it when I explained what happened. 😂
I recently found some nice kid things for travel at Lakeshore Learning. They had a neat magnetic metal bead board you can do designs on as well as a traditional doodle board. Love videos with ideas for kiddos.
Great items!! Tip on how to get rid of the “lovies”, try to tell them “we left them at home” or let’s wait until we get off the plane” and try to distract with something like tech snack or reading ect. Then when they ask again make up something else, and repeat. Maybe even also with a new toy ect. Eventually they will forget the crutch of them and learn more independence bc they will need to be weened off of them. It will take the repetition but will work, it did for me.
Yeah, that lovey thing is super weird. I raised five kids and they have never been strangely attached to an object like that to where I need to buy two of them and treat them like gold and carry them in their own pouch. Of course everybody had their own special thing but not to that weird double lovey extent.
Another great video. No young kiddos here anymore but I still pack my own lovey when I travel. I don’t understand the comments in regards to your children and lovey attachments. Many, many children are this way. And there is nothing wrong with it. Shouldn’t women try harder to support each other? Being a mom is hard enough ❤️
I had my lovey until I was 11, as an adult I still bring a comfort item when I travel. Could be a cozy blanket, sweatshirt, pillow just depends on what I’m wanting for that trip. There is no reason why a kid can’t keep their lovey as long as they feel like they want it.
Agreed about the lovey thing. My middle child is 8 and he still has a stuffed toy that he cannot sleep without. If we travel anywhere he takes it too, or if he has any hospital or doctors appointments. It brings him a sense of extra comfort in places that are unfamiliar to him. I still have my lovey from when I was a child and I’m 35 now, and whilst I don’t take it with me when I’m travelling its always under my pillow.
I totally understand wanting to keep young kids happy and occupied while traveling. I also think that it’s important for them to learn to handle boredom and to have patience. They might not be quite old enough for that yet.
I am a parent of 5 year old twins that are not always best behaved However parents with kids that are not behaving, please give them food or activities. It’s not fair for the plane to hear your child cry the entire time. I was constantly kicked and the parents pretended their child did nothing . I understand kids will not be completely behaved but please do something to make your kids happy . You might also want to play practice at home . My husband insisted on purchasing a car that took forever. I let the kids eat a whole gallon bag of treats and watch their iPads to keep them quiet .
Question. Do you allow them to eat and drink on the plane? If so that requires mask removal, so what is the point of wearing a mask at all? Do you think viruses know when you are eating and not infect you?
This is such a great way to put out some mom travel content without actually including the kids for privacy reasons.
Jen you are a Super Great Mama!! Thank you for sharing this routine with us.
Jen..you pack very thoughtfully for your kids..and less stressful! Their little bags are so cute and monogrammed, also!!

Always love your organizing videos! In this case organizing and planning for carry-ons! 😍💖
I'm taking my little brother on a disney trip in the fall and I'm really enjoying videos on packing ideas! Great tips on this, thanks Jen!

Jenn, you're such a great Mama!!!
Hi Jen, are you and the kids OK? Not sure if the Highland Park incident affected you but hope all of you are OK. Thanks for the video
So thankful for the Post it tip! 🙏🙏🙏 I will make sure to bring them when we are at the Airport the next time.
I do the exact same thing with my kids backpacks. Previous small/preschool backpacks for traveling and then they have their school backpacks.
Never heard of the paper on the sensor trick. Like it. Thanks.
I’m literally sitting on my bed procrastinating packing my kids carryons for a trip we leave on tomorrow! 😂🤪😊 Thanks for the motivation!!!
Anytime I pack when I am stressed I do the same . Just keep pushing

Absolutely love your “mommy” content! Would love if you shared more (without it being too personal)- van organization, mom bag, etc

I love the polly pocket idea!!!

Thanks for the reminder about water bottle pressure! Will I remember? I’ll find out next month 😊 ✈️
Thanks so much for the post it tip! Traveling this week and my daughter is super sensitive to loud sudden noises so I know that will help us a lot.
The post it note thing is brilliant! Those toilets even scare me!

Dollhouse play builds a skill called “real life modeling.” It’s an important part of development for all genders.

I need this because I am taking my 4- yr old to Jamaica 🇯🇲
I’m taking my twins (will be 4) to Jamaica in January. I’m already stressed 😬
I love these videos! Hope you are doing well! 💜
Love the video! I love your Mickey necklace!
I just got back from Canada and used my daughters Pottery Barn backpack. Supper durable and you can machine wash them too.
I have a 7 month old and I will be packing sticky notes NOW. Make it a habit!
In a pinch you can (usually) fold a couple squares of toilet paper and hang it over the sensor. :)

Wow, what a good Mum you are!
This really help me thanks for all the ideas
Where is your necklace from? It’s beautiful
I’m so happy to see you post….I’ve been worried about you with the news lately😔
Great video Jen!
Are you heading on a road trip to the family home in Utah or flying this year?
If you don’t mind sharing, what brand is your personal hard side spinner suitcase? I’m wanting to upgrade my luggage.
where is your necklace form i want one
How do you ensure some continuity for your kids with things like lovies, screen time, things they eat, etc when they live in two separate homes?
I have never been on an airplane and am terrified to get on one. How do you deal with anxiety?
My kids are older, but perfect timing 😎 TFS Jen 💫

Great! Your parenting skills are clearly superior. Thanks for sharing. 🙄🙄
I don’t think anyone watches tv anymore except for sports
How about it blog about what snacks you pack for yourself

It’s tough. Sometimes kids just have meltdowns. I bring headphones.
What’s in your carryon!!??
She has that video already posted! 😊
Jen, you don't age!!
❤️

Happy 🛫 Travels….M🌎M of 5
Please don't put names on backpacks. Teacher here and something we really advise against
