You are certainly not alone. As you learn the skills of going deeper in your relationship with Jesus you will also develop a deeper love for Him and a diminishing desire to do the things that draw you away from Him. Please follow ALL of the guidelines - even if others don't.

When the lord preached the great commission, the head had more in mind than reaching more people - but us coming to spiritual maturity.
If we want to raise children to be spiritually mature, we must train them on applying several bible verses on money, marriage, children, and going through hard times.
Man want does what no relevant that they are committed to - wife, children, money/work, sex/moral purity, how to walk with God. .

Grow in deep, rich, abundant spiritual maturity in your convictions about what is true when we teach another man.
I have got to get away from passive forms of learning.
We will all do what was taught to us.
Man will not reproduce what's not relevant to them.
Synthetic Bible Study did not touch the 90% - nobody wanted to multiple.

Goal: Expert builder of man
Know & apply five or more scriptures on each area a men struggles with.
If the church wants to get different results with mens purity, children staying, and having victory over life's hardship; we have to take a different approach to biblical man's ministry.
When I ignore the first commandment, I miss out on the transformation God promises

Issue of character
How do you build a godly character into men?
These two verse in the past were used to disqualify men from serving in the church; I am using them to guild how to find and fill the missing structure in men.

Intensely focus on the biblical template for men's ministry.
I am in a group of about 10 guys. I don't feel that there is trust in keeping things inside the 4 walls. When we have prayer requests at the end of our lesson, it has been asked for people to pray for (instance) Susie. One guy pipes up and asks Susie? What's her last name? That is irrelevant, God knows who Susie is. I don't feel that things stay within the group. I believe that things are shared out of the 4 walls...with others and Spouses. When 2 people meet outside of the lesson location nothing should be spoken to one another. Unless, it's what the sessions are doing for one another.
I wanted to go through these books, with this YT video. However, it doesn't follow the books of the current edition.
I am seriously considering returning the books to the leader and say...See ya'.
How is this working out, so far. The realization of a trusted group is essential to this study. The leader usually sets the example. Did your small group come to realize that confidentiality is a must or did you have to find a different group?

The leader has tried to get confidentiality established. After our 1 on 1 about My concerns, at our next meeting he stated before prayer requests let's keep them 1st names only. We'll, it didn't take a minute, not even halfway going around the room with the other 9 people and someone piped up about other people, first and last name. Personally, I think prayer in these groups should be focused on people attending and immediate family of the participants in the group. That they should not be someone cousins brothers aunt who/has is ....whatever.
This group even though it is supposed to be a non church sponsored it has become a recruiting ground/event for people who attend their church.
I am just saddened that the church has become a marketing community for numbers in the seats. Mario Murillo has stated churches have become places of skinny jeans, big screens, and fog machines. Well, I think he forgot one.... Loud Machines. They cause more hearing loss than transformation.
I have pretty much have given up on organized "religion". 😔
@@thecrittergitter7576 brother I just came across your message and my heart broke. I believe that God wants you to find a more mature brother in the church, a retired pastor would be great. (Ya, that's what I did) These men are usually the most mature AND want to make disciples not followers. Look for a big brother. It will be the best thing you will ever do. It become that for someone and it will draw one out for you. He will see your true concern and will want to water it in you. Praying and trusting Father to pour in to you.
@@josereyes1680 I left the group and being I live in a small community area, I don't think I can find another group for Every Man's a Warrior discipleship. There just isn't that many men's ministries, unless there's earthly food. Then it becomes more based on the food man prepared and not what God has prepared.

Mr. Berger’s first book, Walking With God, is filled with errors and mishandling of Scripture. He takes verses and half verses out of their context and twists them to support his ideas. His treatment of James 4:2 is especially aberrant. Berger also claims that God speaks through the “still, quiet voice of the Holy Spirit”, which is a denial of the sufficiency of Scripture as clearly taught in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. (Berger offers no biblical support for this claim because there is none.) Berger may mean well, but he is actually teaching men to mishandle and misapply God’s Word. In chapter 7 he offers "a letter from God", written in first person as if God spoke the words himself. This amounts to adding to God's words (a practice for which Sarah Young is infamous), which is clearly forbidden in Proverbs 30:5-6 and Revelation 22:18-19.
I am always pleased when a man goes through the EMAW curriculum; especially when all of the suggested guidelines are followed. I've had the privilege of personally coming alongside over 100 men to help them develop the skills embedded within these resources. Well over 50% have had genuine heart change and several wives have thanked me for the affect these new habits have produced in their husbands. Almost anyone can dissect resources to pronounce certain areas unfit and they are fully free to voice their thoughts. Thank you for doing so.
There are some solid basic ideas for spiritual growth in the book. The reading, study, meditation and memorization of Scripture, as well as devotion to prayer, all within the context of spending time with the Lord, are solid principles and practices. However, the Word of God must be handled correctly and properly (2 Timothy 2:15). My criticisms of the book are not "dissecting" but discernment, which almost no one in the evangelical movement does today because churchgoers are so Bible illiterate. Such discernment is called for by all believers in 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22.
@@EphSBGGSO I never pay attention to the views of someone who won't even reveal their identity. The EMAW curriculum is excellent..
I will check you scriptural references. However this man is out “doing” it. Your criticism hidden behind anonymity of the interest weakens your comments. The question that comes to mind, are you leading men so as to be disciples who then make disciples?
