The message is about how hard the indians work to get where they are today in Trinidad. The sacrifices they made, for their children being under the PNM political party, today they are ruling Trinidad twice now Trinidad has been under the Indian leadership, and they may not want to find themselves in that position again as the underdogs
The emancipated slaves had abandoned the land and gravitated to state positions in order to replace "Massa" and rise politically; the indentured laborers had stayed on the land and made sacrifices in order to rise economically. Today, the children of slaves are surprised (when they shouldn't be) that thee children of indentureship now wish to enter into state enterprises after having conquered private enterprise. Meanwhile, the children of slaves did not use their positions of power to go after private enterprise; instead they became stagnated (only looking to fete)--after all, they had arrived. On top of that, the children of indentrueship got to the top by the support of the children of slaves, who eventually stopped supporting their own. So THIS SONG ASKS: why are the children of slaves confused and surprised by the rise of their counterparts in independence from "Massa?" This is not about race; it is about culture and social status.
Edwin Ayoung because they mad. I remember this song from a little boy and I always find it was one one the that should of been playing on radio everyday till now too
This song should have million views
The judges could not face the reality of this KAISO, but TRUTH stands on it's own merit. Radio stations won't even play it.
Uncle Crazy ah love yuh! A calypso legend of melody, rhythm and rhyme!!
Totally totally agree with you.

The truth hit a nerve with the judges. Keep telling it as it is until they prove you wrong.
Truer words have not been said since Dr. Eric Williams., who warned us about this exact situation back in the early 60's.
This is a big time kaiso, as big as they get

I wonder who sees this message
But what he is saying is True....Sacrifice...
I love the lyrics and the music. I'm not really sure what the message is though.
