You're a Dutchman... lol Well... true... this group was not playing...tho' there were many really good female musicians at the time who payed instruments as well as sang... many of them black.
Remarkable how professional these gals sounded when, for example, one of the saxophonists wasn't moving her fingers at all on the instrument. I wonder how they pulled off any personal appearances in front of a live audience.
@@wilfredruffian8429 Good point. You can see that in a lot of films where the 'performer' is clearly not in sync with the music he's supposedly playing.
Sharp-eyed persons will no doubt notice that the lovely 'maids' are just holding the instruments, not playing - the most obvious being the girl roughly faking to play the trumpet from 1:46 to 1.52, who is not even miming in the rhythm! So we are watching gorgeous girls with nice legs who obviously don't know how to play a single note, while we are hearing a 'real' male jazz band - Tommy Reynolds and his Orchestra - that is offstage...
I'm Coming, Virginia. You're not alone!
Something about how the orchestra from the 40s sounds on film. Lots of bass and lower midrange.
Very enjoyable, thanks so much on this Labor Day weekend ☺
1942 and the skirts are even shorter than ABBA's!
Guaasuu,,que caderas
Old girl beatifoul...
if that's them playing, I'm a Dutchman.

Great clarinet solo - reminds me a bit of Fazola -
Plenty of leg and hip shaking. Cause it wasn't the music I paid attention to. So must've the G.I's back in the day.
I love swing. At that time was the women women and man was man.
I’ll bet the GI’s fighting the Nazis and Tojo’s toy boys didn’t give a rat’s rear end whether or not these gals were really playing those instruments
A shame, because there were some great all-women swing bands. This is a fun track, well-arranged, well played, but ... it ain't them!
Back when women were real women, and had the most beautiful legs ever. Too bad the youngest one of them is about 102 now. hahahaha
Have you seen videos of Bolivian girls with strong legs ant fat bottoms dancing Caporal on the streets?
@@ferencnagy8157 South American girls often have huge hind ends and hard features. I like soft, cuddly girls.
Best to to turn off the sound and just watch the girls.

В джазе только девушки😄
Whose orchestra was really playing the music? It is for sure that
none of these babes were.
Do not judge musical talent based on costumes.
Ferenc Nagy it think hes judging it on finger placement.

Pretty good faking playing.
Very "Artie Shaw"

But, no doubt, the girls have better legs !!
My gaze never made it up that far!
Quit your wyning the word was at war who cares if they can play
The music presented is not preformed by the musicians presented. On trumpeter is completely clueless on how to finger a trumpet
As if the masturbators of olde gave a shit.
My oh my, legs galore, good looks and music too--though I understand the playing was faked. But really, who cares ?
Those poor bastards of yesteryear. Had to be a nation of blueballs.
