Thank you for this song. I was be going home in 23 days but the army told me they had different plans so I’m staying longer hopefully I will be back by thanksgiving
Currently in Gulfport Mississippi doing my AIT training and they're sending most of us 12W to South Korea I'm told just want to thank everyone before me who's served because if it wasnt for yall I wouldn't be able to serve now

British Soldier here from the 1st battalion Rifles Regiment. Ive met many American troops on the frontline and i love my cousins across the pond. I may be fighting for my country but id never hesitate to lay my life down for your country too! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
That's awesome and thank you so very much for your service and sacrifice to your country. I come from a very long long long line of military background and I'm very proud and grateful for my freedom as well as my families serving in the military 🇺🇲
Buddy, I'm 75 now. 10 year Navy Vietnam veteran. We didn't hear much "welcome home" or "thanks for your service" when we got home. But there are sooo many patriotic songs out there now. And sooo many people stop us now and say "thanks for your service" that it feels good to hear it. Thank you, to ALL that say "thanks for your service" to the vets in uniform, or those of us that wear it proudly on our hats or jackets. And thank you, Buddy, for singing one of those patriotic songs. God bless you and yours. God bless all of you.
I 100% TRULY BELIEVE IN OUR USA FLAG 🇺🇸 SINCE MY FATHER WAS IN THE MILITARY, I BELIEVE THAT OTHER FATHER'S OR PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING TO BE FATHER'S RISK RISK THEIR LIFE EVERYDAY DAY AND EVERYNIGHT TO MAKE SURE OUR COUNTRY THE USA 🇺🇸 IS FREE FROM HARM. EVERYTIME I SEE A SOLDIER I WILL GO UP TO HIM AND SALUTE HIM OR HER THEN SHAKE THEIR HAND AND TELL HIM TO THEIR FACE "THANK YOU SIR OR MISS FOR PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY AND RISKING YOUR LIFE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. I WOULD LOVE TO JOIN BUT I CAN'T I'M AN EPELETIC SO ALL I CAN DO IS SUPPORT YOU. NOW THAT WE HAVE A DEMOCRAT PRESIDENT WE WON'T FIND A VAXINE OUR PRESIDENT WHO IS A DEMOCRAT WILL BE LETTING CHINESE PEOPLE INTO OUR COUNTRY.

Love this song. My husband served 28 years and deployed 5 times protecting the freedoms that most Americans take for granted. Thank you for reminding Americans of the sacrifices our military and their families make everyday. I do not regret one moment of our life as a military family, it has made us stronger, more grateful and a strong sense of what is important in life.
Thank you and your family for your sacrifices and service! My dad is a marine and I love our men and women who bravely serve! They are my hero’s and their families! God bless you all!
My step daughter is in the army she choose army because of my grand Father not navy her mom's dad but her step mom's because I rasied her a army girl .
@@cristalduncan9540 we have Army in my family too, it’s fun when we have family reunions, they way they tease each other bc of having both branches 🤦🏼♀️, it’s all in fun though and they are the best! So proud to have all of them in my family and thankful for their love and sacrifices that it’s a shame not very many people understand what these men and women do to keep our freedoms! So grateful for your step daughters service too, thank you for helping to raise her right 😊

I just love how you Americans honor your veterans and your soldiers, your heroes! this is so much beautiful! I wish my country do this too. Greetings from Brazil!
@@caleb0310 Thanks dude! we fought side by side in Europe WW2 (Brazil and USA) but for all those who fight and fought for freedom once I respect as well
I served over 20 years. Many deployments and missed many firsts of my kids. I still dont regret a thing and would donit all again, would go today if called upon. I get goose bumps whenever i hear OUR National Anthem, songs like this or the flag flying proudly in a breeze. Thank you buddy.
I'm Native American. My granddaddy was in Korea, my dad in Vietnam my older brothers in Iraq opt. Iraqi freedom then me in opt. Endoring freedom.. now my little sis in China sea. soon my boys will pick up the uniform too first time hearing this song and first time my little girls seeing me cry. Life is hard for military families, because the whole family serves not just the one that enlists.... thank you and all song artists that honors us.
He wasn't even wearing a uniform... I was visiting the United States about two years ago as a tourist from Switzerland. When I was in Washington D.C., I obviously walked around the National Mall and when I went the The Wall to pay my respects there was this old black guy walking towards me. It was evening, getting dark and he was walking with a cane. I thought that he was about the age of a Vietnam veteran, and that he had just visited the names of former brothers in arms. When he saw me, he kind of stopped right in his tracks, took the cane into his left hand, looked me right in the eyes and saluted. Without having a thought I immediately saluted back, being an officer in the Swiss Army and such. He broke out in tears and said to me "God bless you, son!". Never experienced a more touching moment in my live.
I’m 6 foot 2 and 270 pounds of muscle but when I heard this song I began to tear up. I haven’t served in the military but have nothing but respect for our active duty and veterans thank you for shedding some more light on these brave men and women.
My dad served in Canadian Armed Forces for nearly 21 years. He had an injury overseas in 08, I'm not only proud he served country but proud to call him my dad, he's the strongest father I know. Love the song, I listen to it pretty much all the time! Great work!
Was watching this video on the Big Screen when my 19 year old nephew knocked on my door. I was overjoyed to see him standing there. Home for a visit from the Navy. Talk about timing! Buddy, thank you for this beautiful tribute to our men and woman who serve.
How narrow-minded do you have to be to label every soldier a killer of innocent people? If you even took a casual glance at the numbers, you'd see that wars over the last few decades have been far and away more conservatively fought than those that came before. The amount of effort put into protecting civilians is herculean. But even more relevant, most of our servicemen and women didn't kill anyone. They joined up and contributed to the effort to protect our country, many of them risking their lives to do so.
I am a retired military veteran and I just want to say thank you for making this song. It is really amazing that people take the time to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this great country. As this was not always the case, like when the men and women that came back from vietnam were not treated the best. So when I see things like this honoring the men and women who have served and gave everything for this country it really warms my heart and I usually have tears of joy for all who take the time to remember. Thank You very much.
My grandson is a senior in high school and signed up to join the United States Marines ..... I'm proud and scared for him at the same time... God bless our troops
I got out of the. Army in 2015, did four years and I gotta say this song is true to the heart. Not many people thank a soldier now nor our veterans. You did an amazing song buddy brown. To all my brothers n sister that have served and currently serving Thankyou for ur service. Love ya family
Thank you all the men and women serving in our armed forces across the world! Y’all ARE much appreciated and we Patriots can’t thank you enough! God protect all of you wherever you are!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's so good to know people like this still exist. My husband is deployed as well as my brother-in-law and best friend. It's good to know their work is still supported.
More than you know! We also recognize this if you, keeping the home ready for their return. Military families must never be forgotten. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!🇺🇲❤🇺🇲❤🇺🇲
That was one of the best things I've read. There's nothing more heartbreaking than listening to Taps and having a soldier on his knee presenting with a folded American flag.
I served 24 years in the Canadian Army. When I took my uniform off for the last time, I had the good fortune to have a wife who stood by me for the last 16 years of it, and still stand by me to this day. I have all four limbs intact, my sight, my sanity and most of my hearing intact. I am one lucky man, but many of my friends weren’t so lucky. Most civilians will never understand that. We don’t ask for adoration, just simply a “thank you for your service” or a head nod would suffice. Most will never see the Veteran waking up in the middle of the night, screaming the name of some long dead comrade. These are the invisible scars we carry. My wife stopped asking me “Who is Murph?” or “Reid?” because she knows. I told her about them, some of the best people I had ever known. For those people out there who see a man or woman in uniform, take a few seconds out of your day to say “thank you for keeping us safe”. They are people just like you.
I must say this song gets the waterworks flowing every time I hear it I actually had this on a Playlist all by itself THIS SNOG NEEDS 2 BE HEARD AROUND THE WORLD
As a Marine Corps Veteran this song completely brought tears to my eyes. My brother was just sent out on a spur of the moment deployment today and wont return till October at the earliest and my newly graduated 17 year old son takes his path of office into the Navy this Friday.
This song fills me with American pride and thankfulness. My deepest appreciation goes out to all of our Soldiers and Law Enforcement, you are the true backbone of our Freedom so many take for granted. Thank you Patriots!
Watching with tears in my eyes, knowing my son joined the Marines and is just weeks away from his boot camp date. I'm so very proud of my boy and pray God keeps him safe
Your son is going to be just fine. My boy graduated Paris island last March and he is doing just fine. His graduation day will make u proud I promise u that
TheBigBad Helmut he does it because it is right our military are willing to die we don’t do it for the politicians we do it for our family we don’t want to be someone we want to fight the good fight if our brothers and sisters are gonna be out there risking their lives it’s our duty to stand with them. We go to war because someone has to do it and we are the only ones willing to step up. I probably will never see combat as a sailor but I do my part and as a marine his part will be to kill the enemy and break their shit. So if u can’t or won’t support an man doing what he feels is right then mind your own business nobody here want your negative input
My son deploys in 2 days to the Middle East. He will be the 5th generation to serve when called to duty. I'm a Vietnam Vet. Father D Day. And it goes on. Thank you Buddy for this song. God bless the USA. God Bless you.
I love this Buddy Brown.. Nothing better than our USA troops. From a widow of a Vietnam Veteran who died from Agent Orange 55 years later. And a mama of a daughter who is a Veteran Navy Corpsman of Iraqi Freedom When she came thru the terminal to come home.. 😢😢❤❤❤ nothing better
Stop right there when you see those boots and a uniform coming your way get off your cellphone, your fancy ipad, and drop that old briefcase if you wanna see what a hero looks like this might be your chance before you go back home to your safe little world. Y'all dont you understand? These are the men and women that keep us living safe inside our homes and if you took one minute you're head would be spinning to see the things that they know so stop what you're doing walk up to him and tell him how much it means that every night you drift off to sleep they're all across the planet making sure you're free Stop when you see a uniform Don't you know who you just walked past with your headphones in today You're all concerned with your own little world just outside the terminal gate they're coming home from a whole other world that we know nothing about so the least we can give them is a standing ovation its time to hear us shout These are the men and women who keep us living safe inside our homes and if you took one minute you're head would be spinning to see the things that they know so stop what you're doing walk up to him and tell him how much it means that every night you drift off to sleep they're all across the planet making sure you're free Stop when you see a uniform These are the men and women who keep us living safe inside our homes and if you took one minute you're head would be spinning to see the things that they know so stop what you're doing walk up to him and tell him how much it means that every night you drift off to sleep they've got it covered protecting you and me Stop when you see a uniform

Thank you for this song. It made me cry. My two grand sons are serving right now and I pray daily for them and all who serve to protect us. God bless you Mr. Brown.
Thank you Buddy Brown for that beautiful song. After Nam I was back on the street like many Veterans and people would ask where have you been. So thank you for your beautiful voice and song. It means more than you will ever know.
@cat bone So what if he did dodge the draft 5 time who care there were so many people that did dodge the draft but people like you are targeting him because he is in office. if you really care about the people who dodge why not say it about all the people who dodge it not just him
God bless our troops and our great American country. And God bless men like Buddy who won't let us forget what we need to keep fighting for. And for the sake of our children, Come on Americans, get your crap together and let's get our country back to the way it used to be.
To all the men & women who serve, you have my utmost respect and gratitude. Without your service America would not have the freedom we enjoy. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Our service men and women throughout time deserve our highest respect. Personally I don’t ever think I can ever thank them enough for their sacrifice for our freedom. God Bless All of You!!
As a Navy Seabee Vet I thank you for this great song. When we came home from Nam there was nothing Today when I am out wearing my Seabee Vet Ball Cap people come up sometimes and thank me, and it really means so much to me and I am sure many other Vets. Thank you.
I just seen this and brought tears to my eyes, I'm a retired soldier of 20 years of service. I have to say I dont think of us as heroes, just people doing whatever they need to to keep their fellow soldiers safe while completing the mission our country told us to do. If you want to show respect, remove your hat when the flag goes by in a parade, shake a soldiers hand, stand and cover your heart for the anthem and visit the veterans nursing homes, great song
Nick Rivera know that your brother has thousands of brothers and sisters currently serving and have served!! He is our brother!! We veterans are family!! It’s thicker than blood!! And tell him a gulf war vet says thanks
First time I'm hearing your song. I really like it too. ❤ I volunteered @ a VA hospital in Martinez, California, where I made slippers, belts and wallets for all the Veterans there. I told my boss I felt that wasn't enough, so she said that I was doing a lot for them but I wanted to do more. So, I made them all raisin, cinnamon bread, and they nicknamed me The Bread Lady !! ❤❤ That made me so happy to have been able to do that for them. 🇱🇷🇱🇷
Thank God for people like Buddy Brown. As a veteran, I can tell you that people like Buddy make such a difference. I served in the first gulf war and remember flying home after almost a year wondering what I was coming home to. How would my country greet me? I had thoughts of how it was for my father and uncle after Vietnam and I was worried. Instead, I was greeted by a warm, supportive, and welcoming country. I was overwhelmed with the amount of support and love I received from our nation. I now have 2 son's that serve and a daughter that is on her way to serving our country. I hope that Buddy and people like him can continue to spread the message of love and support that these men and women need. I thank God that my kids saw the importance of keeping America free without any influence or pressure from me to serve in the military. I hope this message spreads so they never have to face the "Welcome home" that our hero's from the Vietnam war faced. If you ever see a Vietnam War vet, please thank them for their service and give them a "Welcome Home" message that too many in our country failed to do when they returned.
On behalf of my Daddy, both of my sons, my son in law, my nephew, niece, cousins and uncles...Thank you!! I cried with pride for my family and others who love our country enough to put on a uniform. In my family all but my oldest son came home. My youngest son and son in law were both wounded but thankfully they came home. Another great song...bless you!!
Katerine Locke, thank you for the prayers. I’m sorry I didn’t make it clear about my son and feel I should. He joined the Air Force in Oct 2001. He had dreamed of pitching college ball & like most athletes dreamed of going pro his entire life. He put that dream on hold after 9-11. He had a month left on his commitment to the Air Force. He had been accepted to college and would have been pitching the next season when we lost him. Even though he was willing to lay down his life for our country, he wasn’t killed in action. I don’t want to do a disservice to those who did give their lives. We lost him when he was 21 years old and buried him on 9-11-04. I’m very proud of my family. I’ve been married almost 37 years and my husband has been in law enforcement for almost 45 years. We raised 3 great children, besides our sons, we also have a daughter who has a Masters degree in early education and another degree in literacy. And we’ve been blessed with 5 grandchildren with another on the way. I’m proud to be an American and very grateful for the men and women who choose a life of protecting others. Again thank you for your prayers. I know without God’s help I wouldn’t be the person, wife, mother and grandmother I have become. Bless you and your family.
I always thank those who are serving or have served. My dad served in the army for 25 years and was deployed twice during the Iraq war. When soldiers go off to war. They will see things we who are not soldiers don’t get to see. They also don’t know if they’ll return home to see their families again. So please say thank you to every single soldier you see.
As a former paratrooper and a combat veteran, I feel really awkward when someone thanks me for my service. For me it was a natural choice. Nothing special. Many of us feel the same. Just plain awkward. We appreciate the gratitude as a whole though.
face tomato Ya. But think about it . We where going to the beach. So we need to do it. Maybe it’s more for us. I watched my family & friend kids die. Been alive way to long. So please it’s for you ..but also for us. Thank you for your service.
I agree. It does feel weird. I've just recently learned to at least be able to say your welcome. But I like the idea of saying it was my pleasure and I'd do it all over again.
USA! USA! USA! Great song! Thank you so much! Honor to our soldiers and support our troops! Their merits for all of us deserves respect and recognition. I wear my uniform with pride!
This video made me cry due to missing both my Sailor and Soldier. My only two children serving our country. Thank you to all our men and women who are serving, served and have given their life for us to be free. This military mom misses her sons so much 😭
This song is making me cry. Everytime i see anyone in forum or armor I say thank you to every one. To the people who died for our freedom and our rights thank you. And thank you to the cops. Not everyone gets to live like this. Rest in peace our fallen heros. One day we will all be together again.❤💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Honor and Respect much thanks for YOUR sacrifice. ♥️🙏 Praying God will bring and surround you with good men to encourage you. Love to you and all your Family! A Grateful American 🇺🇲⬆️🎼⚓🌹🌹🌹
beth kunze yes he’s home for a few more months and then he deploys for a while 💛😅 happy to have the time we get for sure!! And thank you for your support. I know right now it’s tough to understand our nation, and the army is under a lot of scrutiny but those few bad people do not define the United States Army. I am proud to be a military spouse and to support those behind, beside, and in front of me for years to come. 💛 You are a beautiful soul to take the time to ask about his being home. Thank you.
Buddy thank you for making this song I am Army infantry Veteran I served from 1976-1978. I see the general public doesn't appreciate what we have done for them.
Thank you for this song. Vietnam Era veteran who never heard "Welcome Home" until 40 years after my discharge. Glad there is support for our troops now. Proud to have served.
Didn't know you could sing. I'm a Vet and I appreciate it. The song meant a lot and the way you sang it meant a lot. Thanks for thinking of the Vets. God Bless.
cat bone you do realize it is so much more than killing people? How closed minded do you have to be to hate on the military? And I’ll be navigating the ship, not killing anybody.
cat bone i don’t know where you’re from but in Michigan where I’m from, we have all respect for our hero’s who protect us so we’re able to sleep at night. And like I said I’m not going to be killing anybody. I’m not doing it for the respect or to be a hero or even to make some guy rich. The navy will set me up for the rest of my life.
cat bone those people are not cowards man. They are risking their lives for people like me to be sitting here to be able to do whatever I please. They sacrificed everything to do what they’re doing. Show them more respect. Idc what you have to say about our government. I’ll even admit we’re not the best when it comes to our government but the men and women in our military should not be disrespected
cat bone how do you have the nerve to disrespect our military? Without them we wouldn’t be a free country and wouldn’t be living the life that we have. Noah Fleming, thank you for your service and sacrifice! I hope you stay safe!
I love my fellow brothers and sisters in the military, and I love whoever is reading this, but I am not a hero. Not all of us who served are heroes. We did our jobs as best we could, but fighting to line the pockets of the ultra rich like we are still doing doesn't make us heroes by default. My friend, Corporal Michael Craig Ledsome, was a hero. Stepped in front of his junior Marine and bore the brunt of a BMW packed to the brim with explosives. Died instantly, but saved a life. There are heroes among us, and I appreciate the sentiment behind it, but not all of us are heroes. Thanking us for volunteering to serve America is awesome enough if you mean it, I nearly cry whenever people say those words to me, but please chill with the 'hero' part. The majority of us don't deserve that title. Semper Fidelis.
That is very humble sir. I am a proud member of the Tennessee State Guard and you are a hero to me. I look up to every man and woman in uniform due to the fact that we dont do this because we were forced to we do this because we want to. Have a blessed day
A hero never is one who is self centered. A hero is someone who did what was right at the right time. Just enlisting is what makes you a hero. You put others before yourself. You may not like the term but you earned it. Not like these entitled hollywood elites who brag about helping others when in reality it was just for a tax write off.
This comment is to you, and 1 Streak Mann Is it not WHAT you do in your duty of service. It’s WHAT you would be WILLING to do for your country that matters. God bless you both, and thank you for your service.
@A1 Steak Mann yeah man it may not be glorious but I'm willing to bet if your were in pearl when the attack hit you woulda done your part to fight back this is what makes military people heros to us civis as the other guys said it's what you would be willing to do
There have been many before them. I thank them all. I was one of them, in my youth. I salute you young folk that are still willing to stand. Stand for the flag; stand for God, family, and freedom. Millions of Americans stand behind you.
I was at Universal in Fla this weekend and the Captain driving the ferry boat said US Veteran on his name tag. Well so am I. So I walked up to him on my way off and shook his hand and said thank you for your service. He looked so surprised that I said that. I'm guessing not many people tell him that. Ashamed of that. Bless you all

Thank You For You Service & Those Men n Women Currently Serving Ol Glory 🇺🇸
My dad served in Canadian Armed Forces for nearly 21 years. He had an injury overseas in 08, I'm not only proud he served country but proud to call him my dad, he's the strongest father I know. Love the song, I listen to it pretty much all the time! Great work!
Was watching this video on the Big Screen when my 19 year old nephew knocked on my door. I was overjoyed to see him standing there. Home for a visit from the Navy. Talk about timing! Buddy, thank you for this beautiful tribute to our men and woman who serve.
Always kneel for the fallen and stand for the pledge, god bless those who died for our freedom and god bless those who are still out there fighting
cat bone They died for God sakes respect them.
My brother is in basic training for is army miss him so much
@@emilyspringer4633 ....I hope he makes it back
@@ardentstorm9797 well said brother.
He will be in good hands, there's no need to worry. Semper Fi
Thank God for the young folk that care about our country.

Thank you for the support, Buddy. To anyone reading this... the best way to thank a service member is to be someone that’s worth fighting for.
@@LegendMuscle yes, true but some people really don’t seem like they deserve it. But it is what it is
That was one of the best things I've read. There's nothing more heartbreaking than listening to Taps and having a soldier on his knee presenting with a folded American flag.
I'll do my best

Your son is going to be just fine. My boy graduated Paris island last March and he is doing just fine. His graduation day will make u proud I promise u that
Tell him to keep his spirit up and that when times get tough he has brothers and sisters all around

Stop right there
when you see those boots and a uniform
coming your way
get off your cellphone, your fancy ipad,
and drop that old briefcase
if you wanna see what
a hero looks like
this might be your chance
before you go back home
to your safe little world.
Y'all dont you understand?
These are the men and women
that keep us living
safe inside our homes
and if you took one minute
you're head would be spinning
to see the things that they know
so stop what you're doing
walk up to him and tell him
how much it means
that every night you drift off to sleep
they're all across the planet
making sure you're free
Stop when you see a uniform
Don't you know who you just walked past
with your headphones in today
You're all concerned with your
own little world just outside the terminal gate
they're coming home from a whole other world
that we know nothing about
so the least we can give them is a standing ovation
its time to hear us shout
These are the men and women
who keep us living
safe inside our homes
and if you took one minute
you're head would be spinning
to see the things that they know
so stop what you're doing
walk up to him and tell him
how much it means
that every night you drift off to sleep
they're all across the planet
making sure you're free
Stop when you see a uniform
These are the men and women
who keep us living
safe inside our homes
and if you took one minute
you're head would be spinning
to see the things that they know
so stop what you're doing
walk up to him and tell him
how much it means
that every night you drift off to sleep
they've got it covered
protecting you and me
Stop when you see a uniform

Watching this video on Memorial Day in 2023 bring a tear to my eyes

Tell him thanks for his service
God bless you and your family of warriors. I will pray for your fallen.
I work at an Veteran's Nursing home. I look around at those faces and cant imagine what their eyes have seen. But thank them Every Day. God Bless Them
I always thank those who are serving or have served.

I agree. It does feel weird. I've just recently learned to at least be able to say your welcome. But I like the idea of saying it was my pleasure and I'd do it all over again.

I leave for navy boot camp this summer. This just boosted my motivation 100 times more!
cat bone you do realize it is so much more than killing people?
This comment is to you, and 1 Streak Mann
Is it not WHAT you do in your duty of service.

As an Australian Veteran, I thank you and all Thankyou to All Veterans for thier Service. We are all Brothers and Sisters in Arms.
Bless you all
Coming from a small town girl who's fiancé is going into the United States Marines.
