The Deceiver is surprisingly versatile in 10th which is certainly a sentence I was never expecting to say. Pure combat - Night bringer is going to make life hard for anything it gets close to. The issue is getting it close to things. Nighty is using a snail-built scarab mat to get anywhere. Void dragon exists to ruin Knights. Knights are something we've had issues with for a while. Transcendent's though.... those exist because you personally hate your opponent and you want them to suffer. They're obnoxiously mobile and still hit like a truck.
Ngl the Deceiver, while not the strongest C'tan, is pretty funny for being a tanky redeploying assassin. The number of times the Deceiver's Grand Illusion won the game from the start by making it difficult for my opponent to chase my key targets after redeploying is surprising and I'd much sooner take my golden tube-headed star god than the Nightbringer. Plus he's got that "We live in a society" vibe going on that I like lol.
@@Planet40K In my Canoptek Court list I run a wraith/techno combo with Dimensional Sanctum along side the transcendent. super easy turn 1 power matrix.
I honestly love all 3 of them, each have their ups and downs nightbringer and void dragon move slow and really want to be in melee deceiver having stealth and good oc plus some dev anti character snipping is great, plus much cheaper Transcendent teleports around and has decent shooting and melee, just wish his melee wasn't only d6 because I always roll ones and needing to use 2 punches to kill barbgaunts and normal marines hurts lol
Transcendent is my favorite. having 3 teleporting horrors on the map is nasty for your opponent. I like to clump them up on the middle objective on turn 1 and have the rest of my army do other things. on turn 2 and 3 they split up and start doing secondaries and killing key units. Usually at least 2 are still alive on turn 4 and its often too much for your opponent to handle.
Thanks for the vid, just come across your channel and am really loving the content, keep it up! I just picked up the void dragon and built it an hour before coming across your vid, very useful to pick out its strengths and weaknesses to better use it in my games. Thanks again, Fred
Nightbringer is AMAZING at killing-- on paper. In practice it is just too dang slow, and not even a good distraction carnifex! I have to agree. Also Transcendent C'Tan is on a 32mm flight base, the 60mm is the flight base the vault is on. Best bet is proxying from something from AoS!
i love them all, i got a realy cool Proxy Nightbringer and Deceiver which comes verly close to the Original, The Transcendent C´tan you can also buy a 3D Printed version who is the same. still hate it that they move so slow for Flying Star Gods !! and at that Points Costs... give them like atleast 8'' movement
Nice video, i can tell some work went into it. Since i have such a hart Tyranid itch i gotta ask.Could we get this for the Hive Tyrants and Swarmlords too? And in which detachement they are best?
The problem with the Void Dragon to me is useless against Demons, I played against a demon list last week and the Nightbringer just wipe unit after unit my opponent end with just 1 unit at the end all of the heavy hitters were destroyed only by the Nightbringer, 800 pts aprox
I disagree about how to fight terminators with the night bringer. You want them to make more saves. Their invuln negates the extra ap of the strike. The best way to take them down is volume fire.
I agree that the Void Dragon is the best, but the issues that you outlined for the Nightbringer, the Void Dragon suffers the exact same issues except for some extra versatility in range. I also think rhat those issues are mostly negated with Hypercrypt and a Monolith, its expensive CP wise, but being able to deepstrike the monolith portal a Ctan in and charge straight away is priceless. This combo is especially potent if you go second. And if you cant get the monolith in deepstrike range you just wait an extra turn to do it for the extra CP to get within 3.
@@Planet40K You know, I knew I should have read the rules before posting that, nice pick up. Still, I think the the differences between the Void Dragon and the Nightbringer are not great enough to place the Transcendent Ctan between them.

ha, last time i used it, it did pretty well in fairness.
May be suffering from Cosmic Insanity but i am a huge fan of the Grand Illusion. It is one of the best ways to ensure you get into combat!
Yall sleep on the Transcendent c'tan going first it's ability just gives you whatever objective you want
100% facts

In Crusade the Transcendent C'tan can gain experience and get really dangerous

I play daemons a lot too, only soul grinders get hurt.
I tend to not bring C’tan vs daemons

All 6 are awesome
Mad list
Can you RP also units in strategic reserve?
No unless you use the stratagem in hyper crypt legion

The bigger base assists with 180 turns
Also how are you using a monolith portal with a ctan without the infantry key word…

Easy mistake . No worries
I’d also like to add the extra resiliency for the void dragon to regaining wounds. Gives a slightly better entry
You foregot 1 ctan! :(
Nope. That’s all the characters
