Some people do, I don't generally do that...but lots of folks like to use it on large lettering. Like those viral "MAMA" sweaters and shirts. So you can use it, it's not about "do not use it." As I always say...whatever you like to do.

Did you notice a difference without the heat and bond on your fabric

Like under the appliqué fabric? No. TBH, I never use heat n bond on my appliqué items, but if you find it helps… I would definitely use it.
