  • This video lasted a bit longer than was intended,🙃 but it gives you a very good idea what to expect if it's by the serial which myself think could be very well used if it was a little bit higher and possibly a bit more out of the way of the roof, but you can see it works on many many frequencies and some operators and hear me very well, which is very surprising🤔 as I say again because the aerial is far from an ideal position. It's very well made and even the radials seem a very high quality, and also the brackets. At this moment I am quite pleased with the aerial. I'm not really surprised on 160 and 80 meters it doesn't work so good, but I'm sure when the aerial in a better position if we also work better,I hope that someone finds this video useful,,,73s from Rotterdam,Deze video duurde iets langer dan de bedoeling was, maar het geeft je een heel goed idee wat je kunt verwachten als het door de serie is waarvan ik denk dat het heel goed zou kunnen worden gebruikt als het een beetje hoger was en mogelijk een beetje meer uit de manier van het dak, maar je kunt zien dat het op veel frequenties en sommige operators werkt en me heel goed horen, wat zeer verrassend is, zoals ik nogmaals zeg, omdat de antenne verre van een ideale positie is. The SE HF-360 consists of 3 Fibreglass vertical radiating sections and one stainless steel top whip and an transformer used to lower the high impedances found at the feed point of the vertical to the 50 Ohms that is required by your transceiver. Specifications: -Type End fed vertical antenna -Frequency TX/ 3.5 -52MHz (with ATU) RX/ 1.8 -55MHz (with ATU) -Max power 400 Watts -Impedance 50 Ohms -Connector SO-239 -Height 5.5 metresAssembly and Mounting: -Before you install your antenna, select the most available open site away from power lines and telephone lines. The antenna can be mounted at ground level or at height so giving you many options on installation. -Assemble the fiberglass elements ensuring that the lock washers are used and that the steel whip is inserted into the topsection fully and that the two grub screws are securely fastened. -Mount the antenna using the U-bolt or other attachment. -At the top of the base cradle place the three nuts and bolts into the black moulding and secure. -Attach the PL-259 plug on the 50 Ohm feeder coax to SO-239 socket on the transformer at the base of the antenna. -We recommend that you should always earth at the tuner point rather than at the transformer for best performance and safety.     In an ideal World...
    We would have Big Towers and Big Beams..
    The "reality", we make do, we "compromise"
    "Any Antenna" is better than "No Antenna".!
    I worked 78 Countries with Indoor Mini MagLoop with 5W.
    I now have a very bent Dipole in the Loft, at 171 Countries.
    My Best DX, ZL4AS from UK with 2.5W, FT8 on 17M
    QRP is a passion, long hours of dedication.

    Got this antenna about a month and a half now placed on a satelite foot on my balcony.
    I don't even have to raise it up and I'm allready making contacts 3000km away easy even with 50watts or less.
    It's defintely a kind of DX antenna because everything in a radius of 500km is almost not workable. Further away no problem at all. I got 59 reports 3000km away.

      @@Bernard-John I will do no problem just setting up about do my foundation and joined the RSGB then i'll be up and running ( just listening at the moment ) , i did all this in the 80's and 90's just decided to take it back up but legally and all above board 73's

      Hi,I found the Sigma to be very good quality, good materials used 👌, I have sold mine and in the middle of replacing it with a 40 meter end fed wire,,,,well that's the plan,,,,73

    Does this antenna work better with the radials pointing down or up. I have mine pointing up at 45 angle

    Hello, thanks for the video. Can you tell me how much difference the Plus kit make. I have SE X-80 and did contacts up to 10000 km with the IC7300, no amplifier on 10 and 15 but the 40 m is so-so. How much range extension did you get with the radials compared to the bare X360? Thanks and 73

      Good morning 🙏, I found the antenna is for compromised situations, example a radio room with little space for a a antenna, I didn't find any difference with or without any radials, maybe for you it's different, good luck 😉, 73s from Rotterdam 🙏🙏

    How did you fix the 1, 35 metre steel whip at the top? How deep inside? There is no mention in the manual of what to do...maybe for SWR adjustment how?

      Hi,to be honest, the sigma HF 360 was not in the best position,,,so I can't give you an honest answer, but unfortunately for the Bands I want, 80 meters and 160 meters I am going to try a 40 meter end fed wire aerial sometime soon,,,good luck ,and 73 from Rotterdam 👍

    it would have been nice to see what your swr was before and after i have sigma and i have a problem getting my swr down below 3.0

      Hi,my SWR was also round 3,but no problem use the antenna tuner,,,,that's what it's there for,,,,try extending the radials,,,,and open standing seems the best,,good luck, 73 from Rotterdam 👍

    Well I haven using the Sigma. HF360 with radials upgrade for over two months now and it does ok, but I have just put up an end fed multi band wire antenna (length 20m of wire with a transformer) and it receives and transmits much better than the Sigma.

    I bougth a Sigma 360 and the Balun melted using FT8 at 80 watts. Three months of use and it had to go in the bin. Never had a voice CQ on it.

      Hi,well that's a bit unlucky,,,I suppose you could have replaced and upgraded the 9 to 1 Balun,they are as cheap as chips 🍟 😉, I just used radio power 100 watt's max on fm, hopefully the next antenna will be better, thanks from Rotterdam 👍🏻

      @@Bernard-John I just don't know why this issue happened after 3 months. I will "upgrade" the antenna to another make. Antenna is glued together.

    Couple of months later ... propagation been good last weeks. Can you give us an update how the antenna is doing these days ?
    I got a telescopic aluminium pole sitting on my balcony about 2m30 from the ground. I could get the foot of the antenna raised up 8 to 9m above the ground level. Since it's on a balcony ... I really don't have an other option then going vertical ...

      Hi,unfortunately I have sold the Ariel few months ago, I was a bit disappointed with the performance, but mainly it has a 400 watt maximum imput, I was afraid of damage, so I ordered a 4 element 6 band's yagi which should be here in a few days, finally, but the sigma hf-360 is for operators with limited space, and HIGHT IS MIGHT, higher the better, good luck 👍, 73 from Rotterdam.

      The radio I made my choice the 991a from yaesu but the antenna I can't make a choice maybe you can help me a bit.
      Can you give me some advice looking for a dipole for all HF bands and an other antenna for the 2 meter band thank you very much

    have you got the length of them please I cant justifiy spending nearly an extra £100 just for some radials. If I can get hold of the lengths I can make some wire ones.
    Are they not just AM PRO-80 and AM PRO-40 made by the same company. You can buy both of those for about £19 each then make a mount. total cost about £25 as aposed to nearly £100 for the kit

      Hi,for the 27 mhz I have my Gainmaster 5/8 wave, the Sigma Hf-360 was mainly tested the amateur bands , sorry can't really help, but good luck 👍

    de 80 meter wil niet echt vlotten , jammer dat je niet meer laat zien op die 80 meter , een antenne die 1-1 loopt da's mooi , maar geen rendament op 80 meter . jammer

    There not racials they are tuned antennas for 40m and 80m to improve those bands

      @@Bernard-John agree I've got one but not fitted the add-ons it works but not a patch on my long wire. If you can get it off the ground by s couple of meters it will work better

      Hi,to be honest the Sigma HF 360 was certainly not in an ideal position, I am informed that if the radials are pointing down, it reduces qrm and other issues,,but I can't say for sure, give it a try and let me know,,,73 from Rotterdam 👍

      After using this antenna for a few weeks now, I find it receives better than it transmits at present. 20 meters is the better of the bands, but my antenna matches struggles with 20 meters yet does really well on 40 meters.

      Hi,well everything is a comprise, if you have little space for anything bigger, we'll it will work, just put it high enough, but don't expect miracles, I am sure a 20 meter wire will work better, good luck with that 👍 73 from Rotterdam.

      I had mine for 2 years no issues with strong wind i found the add on were vast improvement . I use a tuner but not really needed as both swr are less than 1.6 on 40 and 80 . As for tx i run 10w and chat all over europe no problems and sure i can get further if i put the effort in

    I have the same antenna does it matter if the add on radials are pointed down like yours or in the up position
