Hey I just got my first Z and your channel is basically my guide right now to getting my car back up and running could you possibly tell me what hose that is that connects to the radiator cap? Is it upper
Question? I got same radiator and the hose from the bottom goes into that metal pipe then into the thermostat housing but mine doesn’t fully fit on housing. You have a problem with that?
Just leave them alone. You can cap them if you don't like the look but nothing will leak out since the trans cooler is a sealed system separate from the radiator
That's funny I spotted this radiator a few weeks ago and everything so pretty I'm getting put together on my car that was just something else I looked at and I said I was going to get right this minute or this week anyways I'm focused on the rear differential Mount Polley like yours hell I've done everything else poly from end link bushings to sway bar bushings front and rear to the dust boots on the Outer tie rod ends now I need extended tie rod ends and bump steer spacers and rear diff mount and I will be ready to go suspension wise ready to start this turbo I just got by then ni s t u n e I've already got my coilovers on and most everything poly except the rear diff but soon as I get the rear diff the bump steer spacers and the extended tie rod ends this rad is next LOL it is pretty and with everything under my hood being so pretty already that was just set it off I'm still actually thinking about putting my AC back on the only thing I have taken off so far is the compressor itself everything else is still in the correct spot spot I was going to finish deleting everything from the AC just to give me more room but I think I'm going to run it for its hot in those cars people say oh take all the AC off you got t-tops shit those t-tops or for the birds it gets hot in those damn cars I've owned four of them in my life and I always remember they put off heat
So what do you do with the extra two screws that it comes with? I have the exact same one but I screw them on, they go to the bottom of the radiator? One question I have is what are those two screws purpose?
Those are for the automatic transmission fluid to cool it. If you have a manual transmission, you don't need to worry about them. You can cap it or leave it open. It's sealed from the coolant so it won't leak anything out
What are the two hoses on the bottom for? I just got a three row, and the new connections are substantially wider than the originals. I was surprised when I took them off after draining the coolant and they still poured out, but it was reddish fluid. And now I don't know what to do with them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@@TheZGarage okay, that makes sense. I do have an automatic though, is there some kind of adaptor, or will I have to change out the whole hose, metal pipe and all?
I believe the ports are 6an. I don't remember the size of the trans cooler lines but if you can figure that out then get some 6an to barbed fittings, the rubber lines will be able to adapt to the radiator.
Yes but with the stock fan shroud in the way its a bit hard to get to. Easiest thing to do is remove the front bumper and you'll have plenty of access but if you try hard enough I'm sure you could do it while the bumper is still on.
Thanks for this--been looking at the champion but checking ebay for a cheaper option...looks like it's out of stock now :( I'll have to keep my eyes open...

what did you do with the bar that goes across the top of the radiator to make it fit now that the hose is higher?
Just got me 3 row. Sent from heaven

I haven't had any issue with that hose specifically. You're saying that the hose doesn't fit over the thermostat housing?
I fixed it just now. Thanks tho
Hey I have an 85 manual what do I do about those hose connections at the bottom that’s meant for the auto trans cooler

Question? Where you purchase the intercooler pipe
I bought all my intercooler stuff on Amazon. I have the 2.5 inch pipes, but you can find different sizes for what you need.
@@TheZGarage ok thanks
Do you have the seller's name or an updated link by chance?
Champion 3 row radiator off 9f ebay

Those are the automatic transmission oil cooler. You only need them if your car has an automatic transmission

@@TheZGarage sweet man thanks! Looks like I got some chasing to do today.
Can you replace the upper front radiator hose without removing the front bar
Yes but with the stock fan shroud in the way its a bit hard to get to. Easiest thing to do is remove the front bumper and you'll have plenty of access but if you try hard enough I'm sure you could do it while the bumper is still on.
Why did you replace the radiator?
Was there a problem with the water temperature?
I think cuz he didn’t get enough cooling when he used his ac and the rad had a slight leak
Correct! The 2 row just couldn't handle driving and ac at the same time. The leak was almost nonexistent but was technically there.
