Small Workshop Reorganization
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- For the past few weeks, I did a major reorganization of my small workshop (11.4 sqm or 118 sqft) to make it more user-friendly.
It is still a work in progress, and I expect more changes in the future!

Very elegant. Love the color scheme too.
Thank you! Cheers!
Perfectly organized, great work. I'm having a bathroom built in my shop. I don't think I'm ever leaving this place.
Brillant tidy layout buddy, nice flow to your workshop, thankyou for your video and the great ideas you have shared, louie UK
Only a perfectionist would paint behind walls you are going to cover in wood. Nicely done.
Thanks! And yes, I'm way too perfectionist!
With that said, I painted the room with no plan on how to set things up, so painting all the walls was my only option.
Nice work ! You must feel great every time you walk into this room now !
Thanks! Yes, I feel much better now, but still, lots and lots of things to do!
Great sound track Eric
Nice workshop, great video. Great ingenuity !
great one ❤
You're the first UA-cam person I've seen use Hitachi tools. I really enjoy mine and it's my preferred brand of power tools.
I'm not the only one, but yeah, you don't see them as often as other brands on UA-cam. Hitachi makes very good tools, but I switched to the 18V Blue Bosch line last year, widely available in Belgium. I don't stick to a particular brand, but I mostly use Festool, Bosch (Blue), Makita, Hitachi and Dewalt tools, depending on what I'm looking for. Rigid (US) and Worx (Europe) when I'm on a budget, depending on reviews.
Great job. Enjoyed it, music and all.
Got yourself a new fan, loved the cleaniness, I'm gonna try to reach this level 🤗
From the middle of California....BEAUTIFUL JOB!!
From the heart of Belgium, Thank you!
Well done
Great job! Thanks for sharing. Love the editing too
Nice transformation, if your attention to detail is anything like what you showed here, your projects will be great👍
É assim que devem ser as oficinas de garagem...limpas e organizadas. Parabéns pela iniciativa.
Obrigado!
Love magnets!! We definitely want to add a ton to our shop, but still trying to figure out the most modular way to do it
Nice work there. Inspired me to do similar in my garage. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Happy to help :-)
Very nice job on the shop.
What a fantastic workspace and an inspiring transformation. I need to do something similar in my garage. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you!
Cool dude...
That was an amazing transformation and so cool how you made everything yourself!
What a big improvement! Nice work.
Feels good just to watch someone do that! lol Thanks for the video and good job on both the project and the editing.
Thank you!
Super boulot, et sacré équipement ! Un vrai petit paradis !
Merci ! Petit, certainement. Paradis, j'y travaille :-)
now thats a tidy shop ;0)
Hi Eric! Amazing work!!...Congrats!
Thank you Margarida!
Really nicely done, thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for your support!
Nice work
Love it! Great video. Subscribed!
Nice shop and video! Subscribed!
wonderful!
Very nice shop! The painting really makes a difference. I'm painting my workshop white now too, but I'll try to repaint it light blue in some time.
Good tips overall. Thank you!
Thank you! I don't miss it much, as it was really tiny. My new shop already looks like the previous one, white walls and plenty OSB walls!
HODYO Design That's great. I have a shop under construction right now. It has concrete brick walls. I think a layer of acoustic insulation foam plus a layer of OSB panels could help reduce noise to my next door neighbors. But that would kill my painting!! Dang. I hope they don't get too bothered :(
White is the best color as it reflects light the best. Can't have too much light in a workshop ever either.
Cool
nice look!
Thanks!
I really like the simple, clean lines, and how you styled all of your hand tool holders. Nice work. A few questions:
-- why OSB and not a nice plywood?
-- why not a French cleat system for your hand tools and bits and bobs to give you more flexibility? I'm sure you considered it.
-- what in the world do you use all those spade bits for? ; )
Thank you!
- OSB is much cheaper than ply and it looks great imo, at least in Europe. I love and use this material a lot, plus it ages very nicely in a shop. You won't spot screw holes in an OSB panel, you will instantly in a ply one!
- I only use French cleats to hang frames and mirrors on walls, that's it. In my shop, I can screw any hand tool/tool holder absolutely anywhere I want on my OSB panels, without thinking. French cleats don't give me this flexibility.
- I don't use my spade bits actually. You won't see them in my new shop. But you will see a lot of forstner bits instead :-)
Great Organization. How do you start organizing the workshop? How do you draw up a plan? My workshop is a mess and I don't even know where to begin. Sometimes I look for a tool and can't find it, so I think I lost it so I buy a new one and months later I find the old one which I had missed placed so now I have two of most tools. Could you give us some idea on organization in a methodical way. Thanks.
Hi. Organizing a workshop is a never ending process, and each of us has his own way of sorting his shop. With that said, I completely emptied Mine and found a new space for each of my tool. On the wall, in a cabinet, it doesn't matter as long as everything has its own place, and as long as you PUT things back AS SOON AS you don't need them anymore! Much easier said than done actually, as I just spent three entire weeks to reorganize my current workshop, much bigger then the one in this video! Discipline is your top one priority to keep your workshop organized and welcoming! Always keep that in mind and don't work too hard! 😉
@@HODYODesign Thanks, for your advice, will follow your tip., Keep each tool to an asigned place in the shop and put away in its proper place as soon as done using it. Happy New Year.
Thanks so much for the video! Will be incorporating some of these ideas in our small workshop. What is the name of the song in your video? I couldn’t stop dancing while watching the video!!
TY! Song's name/link in the video description :-)
Amazing work, how did you think of everything?
Thanks! I guess I watched a lot of videos on YT!
Nice work! Did you finish that OSB with something? Looks awesome.
Most of the OSB panels I use are already pre-finished . I use OSMO oil for unfinished materials
I wish he would have painted all of that OSB. Looking at bare OSB gives me cancer. I guess some people don't mind how it looks though.
It's not that "he" doesn't mind, it's that "he" loves bare OSB look. Be warned dude, you may get very sick watching my other videos :-)
Good Job, but you don't have many tools either. Great job on the vid side too.
This room is only 122 sqft, that's why you don't see all my tools: it's just a too small space to fit them all!
Very nice. How big is your shop?
Thanks! It's size is 11.4 sqm or 118 sqft, so it's quite small!
Fortunately, I recently found a much bigger space, so this one will become a storage room soon!
hitachi drill
That is not a small workshop ;) Mine is one end of a balcony lol. That's small!
Yours is not small, it's tiny! Not the same category ;-)
Dear sir,
What is the product that you are using at 5:25 ?
best regards
Gregory
Wax. Here in cherry color.
Here in the USA, a popular brand of the wax stain is marketed as "Briwax." I've got cans of it in several colors. I love it because it provides luster, color, and protection.
Phillips screws!? *dies*
Честно говоря, от вида ОСБ меня уже тошнит
и ?
Certainly not small
For a workshop it is pretty small. The garage i use as a shop is 3.5 times the size and I think it is on the small side.
