I'm a singer for my church. When I first joined, I was hesitant to sing because during practices, I had doubts about my voice and my performance. I was debating whether it was the right choice for me stay and I was getting into my own head a lot. I'm so blessed to be around amazing godly people from the worship team who talked to me about worshipping God first and focusing on him when singing, instead of focusing on myself. I am very grateful for those words because it gave me confidence to sing and praise him on stage. I always pray that I will focus on God first and honor him in church. I'm grateful that God has given me the opportunity to sing for my church. Tommorow for the first time, I'm going to be a lead singer for a song. The Lord is amazing.
Hey I’m a singer at my church too, and I love the words they gave you as encouragement. I also have been feeling like you lately even right now and after reading this comment I feel a little better if I should say cuz I’m not the only one. Just focusing on God and singing for him and not worry about how good my talent is might be the right approach to try. Thanks

Oh my God! Why this sounds like what I am the one who is talking.. I am always the backup singer but today I’ll be leading for the first time. I am scared and nervous. My prayer is that I will focus on Him later and now on my self.
Amen! I personally still enjoy the old hymns. Singing is a big part of worshipping God.( Psalm 150. )

Absolutely true, Brother Daniel. Todays worship has turned into 20-30 minutes of hollow loud entertainment. Unbearable. We have endured it for years.
This is sad. Check out centre street church in calgary on line well balanced worship and unbelievable messages.
Some new worship songs nowadays are just like junk food, taste nice but not rich in nutrition
They make us Spiritualy fat while keeping us spiritually unhealthy
The same situation on seculiar music, in 90s music were good

Thank you for addressing the elephant in the sanctuary! Might I also add, worship leaders: please stop picking shallow, horizontal songs (we, he, I) as if you’re singing about God or singing to someone else. Pick vertical (You), theologically rich and deep songs that magnify God and that address Him specifically as He is the only audience in musical worship. I’m so sick of these shallow modern worship songs. Would love to get back to the timeless classics that fill my heart with adoration of God.

You hit the mark on a lot of things. Church services have changed a lot. Especially with how they try to get young people to keep coming to church.

I see that Daniel uses the gospel to indirectly promote his modeling, and if this is what you are talking about, I agree that this is, to anyone looking soberly from the outside, a sin. The business of modeling itself is satan's territory and only pride and vanity would inspire a person to think otherwise.
It's not bad for a christian to have a business. Daniel's business is also glorifying God and aside from daniel's merch, many merch form different company of people that lead young people to the world, why can't we Christian make our own merch so that we can encourage others to Christ..

I learn more about God and this walk in Christ listening to your videos than I ever have attending a building of wood and stone growing up. Everytime I attended with my parents it was always the same preaching over and over every Sunday about being saved and alter calls for the unsaved but never about spiritual warfare or walking in holiness. I used to think being saved was all I needed but coming across your channel Daniel has opened my eyes to a whole new view in this walk in Christ. You are truly led by the Holy Spirit and you help me understand everything I never did before. Some pastors yell like they are rebuking the church but you say things so calmly like God is talking to me directly through you. It makes a huge difference. I feel God's love and peace through your videos. It makes me want to do right by God like I don't want to disappoint him. I find myself on youtube with my headphones on more and more daily listening to God's word. May God bless you in all you do. You truly are a blessing. Please keep making these videos Daniel they really are making an impact in my life to God's glory.

I love what you said. Stop following the routine but follow the holy spirit😭😭❤❤am a worship leader and this has helped me. Because I was doing it wrong the whole time trying to sing songs that I think the congregation wants instead of what the spirit wants but I thank God that he taught me to be led by him only

I love hymns, it's really engage me to the Holy Spirit, the power of the holy spirits in me is so deeply and completely in God's presence... very important that the songs we sing is song that leads us to worship God deeply in our hearts...

As our older pastor was getting ready to retire and they were working on the new pastor to take his place, the songs and presentation began to change, more contemporary for the younger people. It really changed after the older pastor left. Harder to sing along with the newer songs. Sort of too fast to follow at times. So, sometimes now I just sing when I can follow the words, and praise Jesus in my heart when I can't. And when they have the lyrics on the screen they have no breaks where they should be to show you there's a break between lines. I like older and earlier contemporary worship songs. I understand they should be keeping up with current songs for the younger people in the congregation. I have no problem with that if I could sing along with it better. Once in awhile they sing an older one. But, not as often as I think they should.

The repetitive songs you mentioned have a name among some. They’re called 7/11 songs; seven words or seven seconds of words sang eleven times. Anyways, hello Daniel and thanks for this video. God bless you.
Songs that uplifts the soul like the old rugged cross, a mansion over the hilltop and many more I really love singing Christian Old Hymns. The depth or the meaning of the song is so deep that you don't need to be emotional just to understand it. It really has the power to change lives not base on emotions and feelings.
True..hillsong, bethel and almost everyone on stage, did not carry the name of jesus, but only performed concerts, until they were famous and looked fab, did not mention the name of the Lord Jesus. wow.

Perfect! A much-needed video for today's church.
So glad you brought this issue up-we attend a small church and sing old, doctrinally sound hymns, but now we have begun to put in newer worship songs with a leader and the congregation isn’t led to sing in unison which is the very definition of congregation! You end up not being able to follow and get frustrated which does affect the sermon effectiveness...you were spot on with your list and wish you continued success in reaching hungry souls for Christ.

I was 5 years of chronic illness. Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 😇🙏
I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also.

Repent. You are an antichrist. Jesus is God as I said before and many times to you and yet you keep on your blind path. You are blinding others to also blind but dont worry there are consequences for trying to make others blinded. God really did say in the book of Revlation that many antichrist will come and try to fool others and many will fall, oh I wish for you to let go of your blindness, please I do wish for you to hear out and understand that Jesus is Our saviour and God.
Even the Fevil himself know Jesus is God and trembles in fear in his name and yet you want to keep on your blind path? God bless you really I do wish for your souls salvation to be saved in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I wanted to add my thoughts about repetition in songs. It has a hypnotic effect that can be addictive. I think secular music people know about this and use it to their benefit. I could name one song in particular but I won't because people might read this and go listen to it. It's not any better done in Christian music because it's just manipulation of the emotions and feelings to make you think you're making a connection, plus it is addictive and people want that same feeling over and over again.

I'm not good when it comes to sing a song so when other leaders in my church sang they always make their voice high even though the notes are in low tones. We are same sometimes I chose to praise God alone sing a song even though My voice are not good like others but I sing a song For God because I know HE will Accept my praise, my sing and also I know He wasn't looking for good voice only.
FINALLY! My church pet peeve is church dictating. Church dictates when to clap, raise your hands, when to praise & pray or even when to give and how much to give! Where’s the truth in that? It’s supposed to be a personal relationship? Do you tell your wife or girlfriend you love her because someone told you to tell her? No wonder the road to eternal life is very narrow. No wonder GOD said that many will call my name but GOD said I do not know you! There’s a reason why GOD gifted us a “free will”. Freedom of choice and to make our own decisions. We’re supposed to worship and praise HIM out of our own free will not cause some praise and worship leader or pastor dictated you? Worship GOD out of your own free will. We are not in daycare where kids are being dictated? GOD said come us you are! 🙏
