We are Jacob and Jenny, a husband and wife passionate about traveling the world. We started uploading in May, 2021 with a goal to see as much of the globe as possible. After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, the time was right to quit our full-time jobs, so we left everything to travel and have loved every minute of it. Our goal is to make it to all seven continents and visit as many countries as possible. Follow along and be a part of the journey!

Taiwan is the point of origin for many of the Pacific Islanders, like the Māori in New Zealand, so your French Polynesian vibe isn’t wrong.

Looks like a nice hot spring town! Taiwan mountain springs are so beautiful, and I think it’s cool that there’s hotsprings in the river too. There’s another UA-camr xiaofei who explores a bunch of the rivers in Taiwan and it’s always so pretty

When I used to make my pan flutes from bamboo, I would first bake the bamboo in the oven at low temperatures to dry it out and prevent it from cracking. The smell of the bamboo as it was drying / roasting was sweet and delicious - kind of like baking cookies - yummy!

What the speakers are board casting are essentially community announcements by the neighborhood leader/committee. The one you played I think it's something about car repair and checkup haha

The bamboo was not for eating, just for making into flutes. But it sure smelled delicious! Ordinarily bamboo is very prone to cracking, but if you bake it in an oven at low temperatures, it almost never cracks - it's like crack-proofing bamboo.

Yes - I read the Chinese characters, and it's Wu-LIE, alright, with the LAI, or LIE meaning "to come".

Speaking of indigenous peoples, way back in the day, when I was a little boy living in Taiwan, I heard that, when the Chinese first started settling the island, they had to deal with tribes of indigenous head hunters - so watch out!

米酒means rice wine but 小米酒means millet wine which is unique to Formosan indigenous culture.
The ordinary Taiwanese aren't allowed to become a hunter but the indigenous people are allowed to be a hunter by employment and therefore they can own a hunter gun legally. The boar meat you ate may be the meat of a wild pig the hunter caught in the mountains.
The announcement I heard was that they offered a physical check-up but another comment here says they offer the examination of vehicles. Maybe I didn't hear clearly.
Woolie is the northernmost settlement of Austronesian people who spread across the pacific from Taiwan to Maori in New Zealand.

I'm surprised that you have such an inferiority complex that other people don't have worldwide. Did the words Taiwanese make you angry but if you ask the citizens in Taiwan what nationality they have 95% of the people here should tell you they're Taiwanese. We respect you're great Chinese and you should respect other's identity. If you keep molesting others or a society you'll make people even look down even more upon your country.
