He was skating here with injury in foot. But he wanted to share and perform to give everything and reach everybody. Only that ankle wants to retire for some period (and he will allow it). Patience is a beautiful thing. Not only for him, but for everybody. And people want to take direction from him. But they forget about patience. He skates here like reborn, isn't it!
It's a GOAT move to retire when he can skate like this though, with the reasoning that ISU's rules are holding him back from what he wants to achieve with his skating.
I dont want to diminish other skaters, who do amazing stuff but....after seeing THIS. Or the stunning Tenchi step sequence. How is it possible to give someone else the same scores in music interpretation? Am I blind and biased? He is above everyone, my forever Champion.

Every event he experienced will make him wiser and stronger than before. Other skaters who got matured also come not only for medals but for the sport itself. We can see if an athlete really loves what he's doing from such a never ending passion for his field, or he just skates for title and position. As for Yuzuru, I say... you DON'T find a skater like him appear every decade. He's a phenomenon. So enjoy his performance as long as you can.
