Life is strange. Our mentality is strange. May be it’s just me. There’re quality skaters in the world, but it takes someone like Yuzuru to win your heart. He has gracefulness in his dancing, delicately balanced arm movements, alined with the rest of his body, he moves on ice like bird of prey gliding up in the sky. His dancing is captivating.
I try to figure it out, why I was so attracted to this person the first time I saw him in Beijing short program. I didnt even know he was the popular one, the commentator didnt say..

He has the flexibility and grace of a ballet dancer and the muscle strength to do the quad jumps. He can make the audience believe everything he does is EASY for him. He also always wants to tell something with his performance, to entertain, to touch hearts and souls. He is alone in his own league. No matter how well other skaters can jump, they will never be able to give the same impression. Yuzuru is one of a kind.

I don't figure skate, so I really have no right to say this, but HOW IN THE WORLD does he manage to only use the momentum of one crossover to push off into that Hydroblade? I mean, I know he didn't start from a standstill, but that must take a lot of skill and strength. And he makes it look so effortless, as easy as breathing and as graceful as a swan. Hanyu Yuzuru is truly a phenomenal skater, and I feel so blessed to live in the same era as him.

Yuzuru's Notte Stellata is simply a masterpiece. There's just something so magical about it, every time I watch it, I almost feel changed. Like now, I clicked this video intending to watch something simple and relaxing before going to sleep, but within seconds, I was completely absorbed. Even though it's only a practice skate, and he's not even in costume, and I have seen this routine enough times to know what's coming, I was still wishing it wouldn't end. Now I feel so different and better than I did five minutes ago. The range and depth of emotions he can convey on the ice is unbelievable. It's art at the highest level.
It's indeed a masterpiece. One of the commentators once said, it's a masterclass of figure skating. It's a tribute to the history of figure skating. Most of the elements of this program are not used anymore because they are given too low scores and with that, the artistry from FS programs is disappearing. It says so much about Yuzu again, how much he cares, how much figure skating means to him. Not just the winning part but the ART itself. To catch the audience's attention and give a performance they cannot ever forget.
While Yuzu's swan costume compliments this piece - grace, elegance and softness, there was something charming about this performance particularly because of his UA suit (especially THIS suit). It exudes masculinity yet there was this subtle raw vulnerability at the same time. Does that make sense? Not a native english speaker, i'm trying my best to describe my feelings. Coming back to his old videos every now and then because I miss him. He was really the last skater to skate so gracefully on ice. When he retired, that era retired with him. The most beautiful, very lyrical, and the greatest skater of all time.
What a joy to have these videos of Yuzuru to watch over and over again. I have never even seen a male ballet dancer this graceful or gifted. The music is in every part of his body and watching him I am absorbed to the point that I’m unaware of the hours passing

This performance always makes me so sleepy and calm, especially if I’m watching it at night. The way he moves is beautiful and puts me in such a comfortable, relaxed, mood. The music is just so comforting, I could fall asleep to this 😭. And the sounds of the ice, UGH I love it so much, it’s so satisfying

I don’t know what it is about this performance, but I almost always cry when I watch it. Also I love the simplicity of his training clothes compared the the costumes, and how quiet the video is without a whole stadium clapping every 15 seconds.
