This whole collection really brings to light exactly how many series Sega has that don't get used. Basically if it's not Sonic, Yakuza, or Valkyrie Chronicles it probably hasn't had a new game in the last 5 years.
Puyo Puyo recently had Puyo Puyo eSports... but it's Japan only... I think Puyo got the worst of it since their games are only popular in Japan and we only have Puyo Fever and Puyo Tetris for English version.
Heh, sorry folks who thought I was too much in it. I got carried away. Well done to my collegues, some great shorts there! Too bad most of these games are obscure, so I'm sure a lot of folk in the audience won't always know where the okes come from, but hope more hardcore Sega fans will get a kick out of this.

@@hisuianpitch That sounds more like a personal preference, and not necessarily an issue with the volume. Had more people worked with us on the collab, we wouldn't have had to use extra animations he created as 'emergency rations'. Most of those animations were years old, and had we not, you wouldn't have had this volume for another year or two longer. He doesn't owe any of you an apology.
The shorts were... Okay... My favorite part was the end credits animation, with all the various SEGA references which even included series that didn't make it into the shorts themselves. I think this has potential to be even better, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next!

I’ve been waiting for this since high school. Now I’m in my second year of college. Yet it was satisfying enough and just caused my sides to collapse from a feeling they call laughter. I really liked this one and this is probably gonna end up as the best one animation wise for a while. Anyways, I’m glad you lot are back even after the incident and collapse, even though it will be a long time since we’ll see another one.

It’s been five years since this has been announced. And although it wasn’t as big and epic as a I hoped, it was definitely worth the wait. Everyone who worked on Sega Shorts, you did an amazing job.
13:56 my favorite one is the Sonic and all stars racing transformed clip because I'm actually getting back to playing the game and it's fun too! I have the console version.
Well, this was... a thing. It wasn't bad necessarily, but honestly, it just wasn't that funny. Sure, it definitely had its moments, but for the most part, not much was really memorable about this. Plus, I'm pretty sure that Rogerregorroger animated a majority of the shorts. And that's not a bad thing, but even for this compilation, they weren't really that great. And I've seen his videos, they're pretty good (although they may take some getting used to). The Wax also made up most of the shorts too, and while they were fairly good for the most part, nothing really stood out to me, other than the Puyo Puyo short, which seemed like the best animated short out of all of them. Seriously, comparing all the other shorts to it, it's a complete step up in quality. Other than those two animators, I don't really remember seeing many more. I feel like there were only like 5 animators in total who made their own shorts individually. Like I said, this wasn't bad, it was just... mediocre at the very least... I mean, considering the wait, I kind of at least expected for there to be more animators making their own animations... I even remember seeing all new animators make shorts for Sonic Seconds... Plus, I didn't even know this was 18 minutes long while watching the premiere; it felt a lot shorter (I guess that's just me). Anyway, for what they've done, I feel like the animators still deserve to be praised for even getting around to publishing Sega Shorts, since lots of other people just give up in stuff like this. It could use a bit more work, but I think it's not too bad of a job. But it's definitely not their best. Maybe if I give it some time and watch it again later, it'll be better the second time around, since that sometimes changes things. I dunno. Why are you still reading this comment, anyway?!
Same, I liked it overall, but it was sorta disappointing, too much Rodger for my taste, there’s still others which I enjoyed and were funny, but what hurts this for me is that some franchises like Samba De amigo, Bayonetta, House of the dead, and Toejam and Earl don’t really appear outside the credits, (though Earl did make a brief cameo), and some of the franchises only make small cameos. Am really glad Billy Hatcher and Monkey Ball got a couple shorts each. What sucks is that this is the only Sega Shorts volume we’re getting, so this was the only chance to see some other Sega franchises appear
CelestOrion hopefully I still give this a 9.5/10 based on the greatness of the best Shorts, there was only like a few that I didn’t find interesting. I actually kinda wish, Sonic Paradox was dropped in favor of Sega Paradox, cause there’s so much more material to work with.
Dang, no Phantasy Star short. Well at least there's some representation in the credits animation I guess, though no sign of Pioneer-2 or the ORACLE mothership at 17:29 :/
Looks like you accidentally credited me for Metal Sonic in the finale short. Still, I couldn't be prouder to be part of this collab. fun fact: the Bonanza Bros short was the first animation I ever did for Sonic Paradox, even before the stuff I did for Sonic Seconds.
The animations on this channel have always been so impressive and honestly I think some of these people maybe even all of them deserve to be paid professionally for their animations if they aren't already paid for some. The voice acting is quite great too as they actually do sound like the characters from the games.
I have a ton of ideas for SEGA Shorts 2: Bayonetta thinking Joker is her long-lost son. Sonic races Sash Lilac from Freedom Planet and loses. Random Golden Axe short. Random The House of the Dead short. Ulala, Billy Hatcher and Chao Garden short. Random Daytona USA Short. Random Comix Zone Short. SEGA Hard Girls Short. Random Virtua Fighter Short. Random Sakura Wars Short.
i would love to see a sega shorts 2(i think making it as a celebration project for sega's 60th anniversary could work.especially if thewax is the animator as his shorts were the best with how much he shows the source material.) that has dinosaur king,sega hard girls,samba de amigo,persona 3-5,virtua fighter,catherine,jet set radio,nights, sakura wars,clockwork knight,hatsune miku,another puyo puyo short,golden axe,house of the dead,maybe the sega heroes in the chao garden,space channel 5,a better billy hatcher short,and especially bayonetta.(she shouldve at least appeared in sega aerobics or a thewax short maybe alongside joker/the phantom thieves interacting with sonic and his friends.:3)
Those are amazing ideas. I was thinking of a short with Sonic, Beat, Ulala, Raphael / Phantom R , and Amigo having a dance contest. Also a Billy Hatcher cartoon with Chao and Nightopian eggs. Dr Eggman meeting Dr Badboon or Mr X (the villain of Streets of Rage). A fight between Akira, Axl Stone, Honey (from Fighting Vipers), and Larcen (from Eternal Champions). It would be great to see the Gunstar Heroes, Chuchus and everyone else again. Bayonetta and Joker together will be a great idea. A short with Sega Superstars Tennis, Segagaga, Sega Hard Girls, and Fighters Megamix would be awesome. Also, I would love to see a Sonic and Alex Kidd short in which they have a showdown (and if it's possible a cameo of Professor Asobin, Opa Opa, and Dr Games will be cool since they were the past mascots of Sega). What do you guys think?
@@fabianugalde3789 those are really great ideas for a sega shorts 2.(personally would have the dance off include joker & bayonetta considering the persona dance spin-offs and bayonetta's stylish sexy moves,also recently found out that ulala was originally going to appear in the first bayonetta so seeing the 2 have a dance off with her and sonic would be cool.would also love to see a dinosaur king,sakura wars,another puyo puyo sketch,clockwerk knight & sega hard girls short as i love these series.:3) seeing all these series together(especially in the credits.)really makes me want to see a new sega all stars game(personally to see a platformer as we haven't seen that yet or a comic series to celebrate sega's 60th anniversary.)
Amazing ideas! I actually felt the same way after seeing the credits (also called the Sega Generations video). I really like most of Sega's IPs and I feel like an All Stars game this year with all of them was a missed chance to celebrate. An open crossover adventure would have been great (somewhat similar to the Lego games, in which you can use more than 1 character in each stage with unique abilities). I have also been waiting for a third Racing Transformed with more tracks, characters, and mods. As well I have been wishing for a fighting game, similar to Smash Bros, or simply like the Fighters Megamix videogame with many of them. Let's all hope that Sega releases a new All Star game in the near future (as well as the Sega Shorts Vol. 2).
I like how they made it look like all of Sega's characters and games live in the same universe. Really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next Sega Shorts to come out.
Awesome! It was quite a few years ago that Sega shorts was teased at the end of Sonic Shorts volume 8. It's nice to finally see volume one of the series that was hyped so long ago.
I'm happy this was completed, great work everybody. I feel like this is really funny if you're a big fan of SEGA franchises, but I honestly don't get many of the references! I'm holding out hope for a Sonic Shorts 9 though, there's still lots of fun to poke with SEGA's main franchise!

Plus, I'm pretty sure that Rogerregorroger animated a majority of the shorts. And that's not a bad thing, but even for this compilation, they weren't really that great. And I've seen his videos, they're pretty good (although they may take some getting used to).
The Wax also made up most of the shorts too, and while they were fairly good for the most part, nothing really stood out to me, other than the Puyo Puyo short, which seemed like the best animated short out of all of them. Seriously, comparing all the other shorts to it, it's a complete step up in quality.
Other than those two animators, I don't really remember seeing many more. I feel like there were only like 5 animators in total who made their own shorts individually. Like I said, this wasn't bad, it was just... mediocre at the very least... I mean, considering the wait, I kind of at least expected for there to be more animators making their own animations... I even remember seeing all new animators make shorts for Sonic Seconds...
Plus, I didn't even know this was 18 minutes long while watching the premiere; it felt a lot shorter (I guess that's just me).
Anyway, for what they've done, I feel like the animators still deserve to be praised for even getting around to publishing Sega Shorts, since lots of other people just give up in stuff like this. It could use a bit more work, but I think it's not too bad of a job. But it's definitely not their best. Maybe if I give it some time and watch it again later, it'll be better the second time around, since that sometimes changes things. I dunno. Why are you still reading this comment, anyway?!
Same, I liked it overall, but it was sorta disappointing, too much Rodger for my taste, there’s still others which I enjoyed and were funny, but what hurts this for me is that some franchises like Samba De amigo, Bayonetta, House of the dead, and Toejam and Earl don’t really appear outside the credits, (though Earl did make a brief cameo), and some of the franchises only make small cameos.
Am really glad Billy Hatcher and Monkey Ball got a couple shorts each.
What sucks is that this is the only Sega Shorts volume we’re getting, so this was the only chance to see some other Sega franchises appear

I still give this a 9.5/10 based on the greatness of the best Shorts, there was only like a few that I didn’t find interesting.
I actually kinda wish, Sonic Paradox was dropped in favor of Sega Paradox, cause there’s so much more material to work with.

The animations on this channel have always been so impressive and honestly I think some of these people maybe even all of them deserve to be paid professionally for their animations if they aren't already paid for some. The voice acting is quite great too as they actually do sound like the characters from the games.

i would love to see a sega shorts 2(i think making it as a celebration project for sega's 60th anniversary could work.especially if thewax is the animator as his shorts were the best with how much he shows the source material.) that has dinosaur king,sega hard girls,samba de amigo,persona 3-5,virtua fighter,catherine,jet set radio,nights, sakura wars,clockwork knight,hatsune miku,another puyo puyo short,golden axe,house of the dead,maybe the sega heroes in the chao garden,space channel 5,a better billy hatcher short,and especially bayonetta.(she shouldve at least appeared in sega aerobics or a thewax short maybe alongside joker/the phantom thieves interacting with sonic and his friends.:3)
Those are amazing ideas. I was thinking of a short with Sonic, Beat, Ulala, Raphael / Phantom R , and Amigo having a dance contest. Also a Billy Hatcher cartoon with Chao and Nightopian eggs. Dr Eggman meeting Dr Badboon or Mr X (the villain of Streets of Rage). A fight between Akira, Axl Stone, Honey (from Fighting Vipers), and Larcen (from Eternal Champions). It would be great to see the Gunstar Heroes, Chuchus and everyone else again. Bayonetta and Joker together will be a great idea. A short with Sega Superstars Tennis, Segagaga, Sega Hard Girls, and Fighters Megamix would be awesome. Also, I would love to see a Sonic and Alex Kidd short in which they have a showdown (and if it's possible a cameo of Professor Asobin, Opa Opa, and Dr Games will be cool since they were the past mascots of Sega). What do you guys think?

Amazing ideas! I actually felt the same way after seeing the credits (also called the Sega Generations video). I really like most of Sega's IPs and I feel like an All Stars game this year with all of them was a missed chance to celebrate. An open crossover adventure would have been great (somewhat similar to the Lego games, in which you can use more than 1 character in each stage with unique abilities). I have also been waiting for a third Racing Transformed with more tracks, characters, and mods. As well I have been wishing for a fighting game, similar to Smash Bros, or simply like the Fighters Megamix videogame with many of them. Let's all hope that Sega releases a new All Star game in the near future (as well as the Sega Shorts Vol. 2).
