Milk Bath Nail Design in Gel Polish?

  • Heya Duck in today's video we are going to be doing milk bath nails except for this time we are going be using gel polish! Let us get cracking!
I'll start by giving this a thin layer of base coat and then ill cure that.
While that’s curing ill pick out some flowers from this pack that I want to use for this design.
Now ill use Quartz for my background this is a milky white with some white shards and mylar in it and ill do two coats of this.
While that’s in the lamp ill cut up these flowers into the kind of pieces I want to use.
Then I can go on with the Gel Polish Milky nice and thin.
Then ill press the dried flowers into the sticky layer of the Milky with all the flowers in place ill give this a full cure.
Now I can take my strengthify in Casper and ill start by giving a thin layer of the entire nail making sure you catch all of the edges of the flowers then while that layer is still wet we will build some structure then ill turn the nail over and use the lily liner brush to fill in any areas that have no gel then I can put that into the lamp on the 99-second setting
Then we want one more thin layer of Casper and cure that then we can wipe it over with the clean-up solution
Then I can give this a file using a 240 Grit file
Then ill give this another clean-over before placing some crystals onto this nail and to do that I'm going to use the Nailchemy crystal totals gem glue and cure.
Now we can finish this design off with some topcoat and get that in the lamp and that’s it! I hope you enjoyed the video and ill see you in the next one! T’Rah Duck!
    Lots a love Km xoxo

If you have a hard time trying to get flowers or any other large nail art pieces to lay flat, what I've done is use a dual form, aka pop-it, to press them down. I'll put a little base coat or builder gel on the dual form then just place it over the nail art. I hope that makes sense. 😅

    • @VishousTrish

I've tried using plastic wrap, and I've tried using a silicone stamper. But the pieces I am trying to hold down ALWAYS end up moving when I've used either of those methods. But I find the dual form method so much easier, and the nail art stays exactly where I want it.

To answer Adam...you can use a dehydrator(90°F/32c) for some plants to dry. A airfryer would have a higher probability of cooking the plant material. Using a dehydrator on tendor leaves will assuredly brown them. Also flowers or plant leaves high in volatile oils, will brown. Its better to airdry or press them...this takes several weeks. Placing flowers and leaves in a vessel and covering with silicone beads is the best preservation for color and shape.

You can also put flowers in the pages of a heavy book and it will press the flower and it will dry it out as well. If you like the book I would suggest putting the flower in between some wax paper so it doesn't stain the pages. Been a while since I've done it so I'm not sure how long it takes to completely dry out..

How different is Strengthify to builder gel?

    • @GeorgiaFletcher-pe4ce
      @GeorgiaFletcher-pe4ce Рік тому +1

Strengthify has been created for the natural nail in mind, it acts as a supporting product for a natural nail and flexes to the shape of the natural nail as it grows. Where as builder gel doesn’t
Flex with the natural nail and you can build length with builder gel but not strengthify as it’s not to build length but strength 🙌🙌
