Sad that the Church Grim did what he did, as long as a human doesn't seek to profane the chaple or the grounds, a Church Grim is actually believed to protect them. Sometimes Church Grims will even offer comfort for mourners, they have been known to offer hope, faith, serenity, even warmth and will sometimes sing hopeful hymns to mourners or appear in the congregation at the next gathering and seek out those who have lost a loved one to offer them comfort. While they look scary, Grims are actually quite benevolent creatures, they don't actively seek to harm, it's not their nature. Most Grims are speculated to be angelic spirits, they'd never lead an innocent to their death, they only herald that their hourglass is running out. Spirits, like Church Grims, that seek to harm are mst often called Barghests to distinguish the good from the evil or The Black Shuck was another. Also, when he said their blood tainted the church grounds, that's actually not true, it's not the blood, it's the intent of a human. If one seeks to murder then the ground is tainted by their evil desire, if one is attacked by an animal and flees into a chaple to die, then the chaple is still holy as there was no evil intent. It's an interesting story to be sure, but I am a little sad that it didn't stick to the truth of a Church Grim.
