I really appreciate that you didn't mention the geese in the background of this video! Creators are always apologizing for background sounds but I think it gives the video a great atmosphere.
The only thing missing from this video is the callout of the awesome collab that MVP did with St. Jude's Children's Hospital, sending a percentage of sales on that Shift to the charity.
I just started playing disc golf recently and you mentioned possibility of loosing a disc in the water and made me think of this weekend lol, I went a bought a new mid range disc at my local disc store, made it to the 6th hole and caught a branch that sent It into the water and deep right in the middle. Was so bummed. Next day I ended up going out there with an extra pair of clothes, took my socks and shoes off and walked out till bout waist deep till I was able to actually get it with a grabber lol, boy was that cold but I did it 🤣 i had to pull it cuz I didn't even get a chance to put my name and number on it yet 🤣
I just picked up a shift. It is the most understable disc I have ever thrown. I turn it over on a backhand on the regular, but it’s fun for forehand flip ups.
I'd be curious to see the Shift vs. a non-halo Sphinx. You kept mentioning how the halo was more overstable- maybe a metal flake would be more comparable
Funny you say you would retire a first throw ace. My buddy threw my disc I just got that day for the first time and aced first throw. The Rare filmed non-owner ace. He Retired it and its on his wall after 1 throw!
I got my first ace a couple months ago (course owner was walking with me thankfully) with an MVP spin a couple months ago. I bought a new spin online before I even made it home that day. My ace spin got retired immediately and it's chilling on my wall lol
It is wild how dumpy MVPs drivers are. That was a flippy control driver and it still just wants to plummet to the ground when it slows down. That sphinx just wants to keep going forward even as it slows down.
How would you compare the Shift to the Virus by Axiom? Is the shift a solo molded Virus? The proto plasma insanity is such a money disc! Lots of high speed turn and a surprising amount of low speed stability… a shot shaper’s dream! I have one you could use for a video, if you’d like, but I would need it back as it’s both sentimental to me and my favorite fairway. I only have one and no budget for backups 😂
Going along with your question by the first basket, I have asked people that if you had aced on your very first throw EVER when you first started playing disc golf, would you have continued to play or would you quit at that moment and become the only disc golf player to have never missed a shot? 😂
I’m a big lover of the Insanity. Every time my form takes a turn for the worse that disc helps me see what needs to happen. Also, that video from Trevor was electric. You guys should throw together sometime!! I don’t think you guys are close in location though

The Geese laughing at the spit out was rude! Shift is a late flipping machine for me. I love it. Your sphinx is a straighter one for me. Also awesome!
My first throw with any disc is always on a par 3 in hopes that it will fly only once and then retire.

9:11 avenger SS took me from 300 to 350+ and the content I internally uploaded stayed forever and transferred into other molds
At Farragut state park (go there btw) it was a very versatile tool

My max distance shot was with an avenger SS and it was 364. Definitely more useful with a tailwind but it’s so fun

Are you wearing the Vessi Tidals? Wondering how they compare to the Stormburst Lows. Is the tread at the bottom still decent for disc golf?

The halo sphinx has become a staple in my bag this year. Great for hyzer flips with reliable stability 🤌🏼🤌🏼
