Not impressed for the higher level it's marketed as. It sounds flat or hollow at times and similar to cranking down a tone control muffler on a cheap student snare drum.
@@DG-sf9ei Play one in person and you’ll think otherwise. This is a top level professional level snare that will go toe to toe with any snare from any manufacturer on the planet.
Hmm Crome or Matte Finish ..... This one has Die cast Hoops the Chrome one has Flange ... I say get whichever ones makes you happy I'd vote this one :) I just recently got one ,NO regrets !
looks amazing...although i should prefer this yamaha to complete my yamaha maple customs which simply adore...i prefer the ludwig lm400 as far as its sound goes...but for build quality and beauty yamaha wins!. if i owned a snare collection this one would definitely be part of it....but priorities with 4 kids directs where extra money goes!!! nice demo thx again memphis!!! wish we had 1960s prices...this one goes for $649 + tax here in Canada! although not$1000 plus.. still wish in was around the $400 mark!
This is a serious snare. It’s a crown jewel. One of the finest ever made.
Why....why.....why have I not had this drum in my possession for the past 3 years?
The 3.0 aluminum diecast rims make this drum explosive.
Nice tip man, thanks!
James Cassidy Yes the hoops on this drum are made of aluminum and not heavier zinc like most diecast hoops.

It’s a masterpiece. This snare is a holy grail especially for the studio.

I just ordered one of these ... can't wait!!!
It sounds amazing! Congrats! I was wondering does this particular model come with two sets of snare wires? Regular and Gadd style wires?
@@trevorlong2143 Ijust got one 2 weeks ago ... Yes yes it does on the snare wires
@@trevorlong2143 Yes. Mine also included an extra set of snare wires with several snare strands omitted.
Just brought one of these. Looking forward to unleashing it live.

I out a triple flange on top of mine and it opened up in a good way.
Pretty sure this is their demo snare.
Yes this one and a Yamaha Maple Absolute.

A little over $500 here in the U. S.
one of the best snare drums for the price that’s for sure!
Nice but the sensitone aluminum 5" you tested sounds better imo. Cheaper too.
Prefer the Pearl Aluminium Sensitone to this.
Wtf man rimshots only or what?
There's lots of ghost notes in there!
