Kevin this next time you’ve got a leaf that is stuck. Use a damp cloth or paper towel and wrap it around the stick leaf g For about one minute hold the damp cloth/paper towel,around the leaf. You should see it start to open soon. I think the slight warmth helps it relax.

I am currently trying to successfully grow 3 Melo's. I bought one juvenile plant and had to cut it into three. It's been a long road, but I'm determined to have at least one of them grow for me.
Also, a collar of moss around the adventitious roots of the baby anthurium can help you stretch out the time before you repot as well, but I def think those were ready for new homes 😂😍😍

I have a melo, a super small one. I bought a two leaf cutting for $30 off someone on Facebook and the leaves are as small as a heart leaf Philo. A third leaf was coming in and it got stuck so I tried to help it out of the cataphyll and it broke right off. I really hope I didn't just fuck my plant up 🫣

I just got the cutest little starter melano. Have a cute little miss pole for her already. I’ve had it for 2 weeks and the the new leaf is more than double the size of the others…hopefully a good sign.

The aerial roots on my plants go dry and crispy then when I try to propagate later on it always rots and I lose my prop :( do I just have to try and keep the aerials healthy?
I think it’s still hot or miss. You’ll have a better chance of the plant rooting with new fresh aerial roots but I’ve had luck with dried ones at times. It just takes longer. I think the key is ultimately giving them a lot of light 💡
I was finally able to get my hands on a Thai Con! She’s a beauty! What is your recommendation or preferred medium to use for them when they have an established root system?
Heyyy congrats!! I’m bias because I prefer to grow plants in LECA or Pon. But definitely heard good things about using a really chunky aroid mix with a lot of drainage

I am a plant addict. I can’t stop buying plants. I need a 12 step program. I no longer have room in my house and may have to get a tiny house to live in so I can have more room for my plants. Thank you so saying where you get your pots from.
It ultimately depends on your medium and how well draining it is. I usually water them once a month just because it holds on to water. You ultimately need to feel the soil to gauge. Amount light and temperature are also factors that will impact how often you water it.
I’m pretty sure it was between 55 degrees celsius for 30 sec. But I still don’t know if I recommend it because another Hoya I did that to suffered and dropped all its leaves. I’ve heard this from other people too but wanted to try it myself. I’ve had mixed results so far.
My huge monstera i want to prop but she is doing so great that im scare to cut her after 3 atemp with other monstera that die on me from root rot this plant is my number 4 and last she have secundary fenestracion Nd she is in a clear huge container so i can keep a eye on her
Since I don't use semi hydro for the majority of my plants,I'm curious what you do when the roots are over grown out of the pot like I see happen often on yours and others? I wouldn't think it would be ideal to break all the roots when time to up pot
I do a lot of semi hydro and i use a no drainage container (like a vase) most often because I can’t stand untangling roots when it comes time to repot. You always end up with some level of root damage and it’s time consuming unless you cut them out of the pot. Net pots are the worst too because the roots will weave in and out of the pot.
@SuperUsername147 makes sense! I've had some good luck growing anthurium in orchid pots with holes(not slits!). They can still get air circulation and while some of the roots grow through the holes, I can remove easily

Those little Phalaenopsis orchid flowers looked so cute and beautiful 😍🥰

How often do you water your monstera? I see that you trench your plant when watering. I barely wet mines afraid of root rot😢.

I did but I’m never consistent with using it for cuttings. If anything it’s in my nutrient solution that I use 💚
