You are not in any way responsible for failing Houston. You had him out on the pond fishing that night before. Even at 10 years old Houston could take me some responsibility and say hey dad, let’s move the trucks. You are a very good father.
Daniel - I would trade ANYTHING to live on a property as beautiful as the one that you and Dejay live on... you are a credit to being a Father / Dad... revel in it!!!
I’m with you Daniel on the privacy. I’ve lived in the country away from people and have lived in the city jammed up beside other homeowners. Give me the country any day. Love it! Keep doing what you’re doing brother!
Oh my goodness, watching Earl's love for you makes me cry ( I had a purebred 40 lb. Labradoodle for 15 yrs. ) Doodle dogs are the best, smartest most loyal loving dogs ever. Her name was Sassy and she went to work with me every day, her job was to hold down the rug under my desk🙂. I was very blessed to work (for 20 yrs.) for a man who loved animals and brought his dog to work also. Don't take Earls' love for granted, we don't deserve them, that's for sure❤ P.S. when you started towards the big end of the tree in the water over your waist and your "gooby and the boys" got in that cold water, I had to laugh; sorry. 🤷♀️😂 P.S.S.Houston knows you would have never knowingly, purposely made him miss his 2nd day of golf camp, he will forgive you.🙏
You might feel like you failed him but to me you didn’t because you was doing what he loves the night before and that little move slipped your mind. I’m sure the fishing the night before was building great memories for him. Keep your head up buddy. Your still a great father and a great role model for him
Don’t apologize for anything! You take care of your home and see fit! You did make me smile today! You were making funny noises in the creek getting to the tree!! 🤣🥰🥰🤣
You love it, and you're happy where you are, so that's all that matters. Folks that don't like it or don't understand it don't have to live there. Thanks for sharing with us.
You don't have to a perfect parent, we just have to do our best and that's all we can do. Houston loves you dearly and it's obvious you are his hero. The way you handled that tree was pure genius, you are very good at problem solving. Well another day on the farm and all is well. See you on the next one 😊
Absolutely, and start encouraging Houston to keep reminding you of those little things like the cars being across the river when he knows the weather is going to be iffy.
Some of my most memorable time have been spent on the Guadalupe River. Many times we have been trapped between low water crossings due to the raging River. I understand your love for your property, it’s part of your past your family and your legacy. ✝️🙏🏼❤️
Yes Mam. When we lived in Victoria Texas, we didnt even have to get rain for the Guadalupe to flood. When it rained up north, it always flooded, and it always flooded when they release water from Canyon Lake.
I understand how you feel about your land because its home and peace. I think women feel the same about their house. When we had horses and cattle i got so much peace out of just watching them and i loved walking through the woods. Cutting that tree in the creek, you had that under control. I can still hear you "oh,oh,oh, that's so cold lol lol lol. Place is looking so green and pretty❗️ 👍👏👏
Daniel, you are only human and we all can make mistakes once in a while, no one is perfect, you are doing what is best for you and your family. you are living your dream on the land your father gave you. you are raising your wonderful family on a land that you love so much, everyone can see that. you are indeed a lucky man.
It's not silly at all, Daniel that your home and property are very special to you. I completely understand. And I'm sure Houston forgives you on the golfing thing cuz he's sweet that way and you have raised him right. Don't be so hard on yourself cuz you 2 do a lot together and have special moments regularly! God bless the Arms family ❤💜
I believe things happen for a reason. God puts obstacles and changes plans, all for his glory. I'm sure if we knew all the reasons, we'd never leave our homes, but I always thank him for running late, car troubles and canceled plans because I don't want to take the wheel!!!
Amen. I was an over the road truck driver for 10 yrs and can tell stories of disappointments with loads but God showed me the next day of why... and it was to keep me safe. Glory to God the Father.
My Papaw always said, "We come into this world with a number and leave it the same way, with a number. God chose them both and we celebrate the first one, and mourn the second. We have a path in-between those numbers with lessons in faith, and no matter how much we want to clear our own paths, if you've given your life to Jesus, then you'll come across many changed routes, detours, road construction, trees/water/dirt/rocks/snow blocking the path, and even completely dead ends because we can get lost along our path and start down the wrong one, but he'll always be beside you on that path. He'll send road crews, mechanics, buses, trains or rescue crews, but they're all ANGELS amongst us. So always thank him for those times our path seems to be filled with bumps that beat our spirits up because it strengthens our faith to face those times when that last number comes for one of us."
✍Thanks for sharing Daniel I get it we finally got our dream place and we shared 5 yrs here before he passed and now 17 yrs later I live our dream here 🥰and I'm glad you get it Daniel because I think the same way and I am glad you are living your best life👏 Huston will remember it but his outlook as he's older made it a memory it wasn't the day he just missed golf camp it's one more day he got to make a memory with his Dad cutting a tree while he videoed him in that ice cold water screaming like a girl 😂🤣who knows you may of taught him how to do it one day💌🙏 Sandy from Iowa
Watching you with your kids makes me smile. My boys never had a man spend time with them. It's a better generation of men now than the one before for sure.
What I worry about is the change in the PSI of all that water against the root ball, driving that cut end into the dam surface. I hope you don't end up with a compromised dam wall. 'Ol Bear is in need of a good brushing. Time to send Houston out there with a brush and get that dog squared away. I'm with you, that'd be a good place to call home. No neighbors close enough to see/hear. The creek running through, all those happy critters to enjoy. You're a very blessed man, Dan'l. God bless you and your family.
Hey y'all can send some of that rain down here to Florida... I live in central Florida and we have had hardly no rain in the last month or two... Our grass crunches with every step ❤❤ Good luck tonight with the rain ❤ Sounded like the water was a little chilly 😊 The turkey pulits are getting big ❤❤ But on the bright side the creek is cleaned out 😊❤❤ What y'all have is special... Don't change a thing... No bridge ❤ I have watched Florida change in ways that make me sick... So many of our farm land has been turned into apartments and subdivisions... It's sad... In a 2 mile stretch of road I know of 5 subdivisions going in and 5 miles from there is another 4 subdivisions... It's crazy! So we are moving back to the country... Can't stand all the traffic and how everything has changed... Thank y'all for sharing your lives and giving us the courage to buy our own little piece of the country... Hopefully that will be country for a while ❤❤❤😊
Daniel home is where your heart ❤️ is !! Do not beat yourself up over Houston missing camp. There will be more of them I'm positive he understands. Thank you all for sharing this part of your life with us I greatly appreciated it and enjoyed it also. Be safe, stay well and God bless y'all !!
Daniel you and Houston were out fishing and having fun. You get caught up in the moment. DeJay and Emily could have reminded you to move the vehicles 🤷🏻♀️. No blame. You’re not the only one who lives in that house, no need to apologize.
Earl, Bear, and Jemma are so sweet! They truly love their family!😊❤❤❤ You are blessed to live and raise your family there at your beautiful property. Nothing like growing up and living in the country.😊😊
Nothing to beat being home! The saying goes Home Sweet Home! I envy your youth & being able to live in this paradise! Don’t listen to the negative comments, just enjoy your home! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ from a smaller property owner in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa 🇿🇦 😊
I wish I had your beautiful creek in my yard!!! It's so beautiful and the total privaticy where you live is a dream come true! The Little things that you have to do to live the best life for yourself and family is worth it! I'd hide in the mountains if I could! Thank you for sharing all the beauty with us! Much love to you all!
Hey don’t beat yourself up about forgetting to move a vehicle across the creek. Houston has already forgiven you and it’s good because he knows you’re human and can make mistakes. If you were perfect all the time it would set a pretty high bar for him to have to live up to! God bless and I hope you read this. ❤️🥰
I love your property, I wish we would of bought 40 acres, but we didn't, only 5. But I still like not being that close to my neighbors. You didn't fail, Houston, your human we as parents are allowed to forget things.
Not only is living there NOT silly - where you call home is one of the most beautiful places in the world that I have seen and I enjoy watching every video for that reason. I would love living there and can understand your heart felt comments about how you treasure your life there. Blessings like your family history, your family, and your dedication to “home” don’t come around easily. Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤
The creek is so beautiful. Sad about the tree, love oak trees. What a job to get it out---do not want a dam buildup either. Even when you moved vehicles, it was still flowing heavy. You have had some heavy rains, quite a bit washed out around the house/driveway. Wow. It is so gorgeous down in the creek area, and it holds your heart, what a tribute to your parents. That will still be so special to Houston too, so do not beat yourself up. You did NOT FAIL that special loving son.
We know how you feel, Daniel. We drive through a creek that runs through a railroad tunnel to get home. We love it even when it floods. There's nothing like living out in the middle of nowhere too.
Years ago, when I moved back home to Oklahoma, my brother was good enough to let me live up at the top of his property and run my horses there too. The road to his house was paved all except the last mile, and it was gloopy, slick red clay from there to the house. I had to park my truck out at the pavement and walk in from there, when it had been raining. Since I worked night shifts, it was kind of spooky walking that dirt road in the dead of night, way out in the boonies. But, LOL, I got to meet a curious Great Horned Owl and a large Whitetail buck! LOL, that owl nearly scared the you-know-what out of me! The adventures of living rural!
Earl is so cute. He just loves you so much😊 Glad the most of the tree washed down. I would be proud to live there Daniel. You are a lucky man in many ways!!!
Quite a project Daniel and Houston! Always enjoy your videos and please don't be too hard on yourself bro .. I'm a dad and grandpa and I know the feeling because we always want our younguns to enjoy the very best of life and blessings, including great recreational activities. Us viewers know what a great dad and mom you are and we see Proverbs 22:6 manifesting fruitfully with y'all, Amen! 🙏 (Jimmy B.)
Hi Daniel and Family. That tree is a problem. Be careful and safe removing it from the dam. Almost got you. Got rid of most of it. Good luck with the roots. God bless and love yall ❤❤
I love that you are so good at showing your kids what to do and how to be safe about it, too me shows you are an Awesome Dad :) God Bless you, It was meant to be and you're right, your HOME and your Dad Started this for you and your Family.
Daniel, there is NOTHING silly about your love for your place, or for your family. Lord knows, every time I have to make a trip to the city, and I'm on the southbound I-35 coming home, I crest that last ridge and lay eyes on the beautiful rolling green foothills of the Arbuckle Mountain, and something happens inside me. It's like my entire body sighs, and a sense of peace comes over me, I can feel my blood pressure falling. Then the mounting excitement of driving through Davis, winding my way along Hwy. 7, and soon I'm at the Sulphur city limits, almost home. I have to live in town now, but even town is different than living in OKC, by a long mile. Time moves a little slower here. Treasure these days with Houston and the older kids, they will fly. Give them all a big hug from me, would you?
Love listening to the water. Thanks. Home is where we are comfortable. Would love to live where you do. I’m with you on the sanctuary of your place. You aren’t a failure. You are a good dad. Houston didn’t remember either!
It always amazes me that big trees are so strong but are nothing against mother nature's fury. I'm glad you are making it through all this safely and able to get out and help clean up. I could have used someone like you this last winter when a heavy snowstorm took down many of the trees and branches where I live.
Hi Daniel. Don’t sell yourself short about not moving the trucks sometimes things happen for a reason. We just don’t always know what they are. Your property and land is beautiful and it’s all yours. The creek is a major part full of memories. The peacefulness and tranquility are so great to watch. Thankyou for sharing with us all so we get to experience its beauty too. Well done with getting part of the tree gone. Have a wonderful weekend take care and God Bless. 🙏💕
They'll be another golf camp... you'll NEVER GET ANOTHER HOME LIKE YOU HAVE!! Houston will understand that!!❤ YOU ARE A WONDERFUL DADDY!! The bond you have shows that for sure!!😍
All this rain we're having is crazy!! I live in NW Louisiana in the country and our weather man said today that since January 1st we've had 48 inches of rain and normally our total rain fall for the year is around 51 inches. Our gardens are not doing as good because of all the rain, our hay farmers haven't cut the first cutting yet. Yep getting a lil' nervous about our hay for this year. I love your channel and Houston is growing up so fast. Prayers for your home town to recover and get back to normal. Have a blessed weekend.
I love the creek and your crossing. As long as you have provisions to last if the creek stay up for extended amount of time. I’d never leave. I told my brother that you had the perfect place for him and described it. He said are you talking about Danial Arm. I said yes and he said he follows you also. A family dream location. Keep the home fires burning.
Mr.Arms you did not fail Huston. YOU all have been through a lot these past several weeks. You do so much with this young man and he looks up to you and your wife for all that you do for him and your family. You are a great Dad and husband. You have a lot of memories there as well as Huston in growing up with all the things you do with him. They will be so many great memories that he will be able to hold close to his heart as well. May GOD bless you all .
It doesn’t sound weird at all. That’s home, it has always been home to you, and you’ve built that home to what it is today for you, DeeJay, Weston, EmmaLee, and Houston. I know when my husband and I left the city he grew up in, we moved to a rural area, we never looked back. I’ve always lived in a rural area. Much like you have. I briefly lived in the city with him. I was so glad when he agreed to move to the “country” with me.
The creek is really flowing… be careful, Dan… that’s a big tree, roots n all! M hope the saw doesn’t flood out! I would feel the same way about a creek! Loved being near water In my life time. We fished, boated, swam, had picnics n camped out near water.
You are a wonderful father and role model to all your children. You normally don't forget to move the car across the street so it wasn't ment to be for Houston to attend the golf lessons. No matter how much he may have wanted to go he could have reminded you, maybe he learned a lesson in this too. Stay safe❤❤❤❤❤
I kinda get the feeling that Houston is happy where he lives and the life he has and loves that creek as much as you do. I worked some to the east of y'all back in the 80s. The closest would have been the Atoka area, I met Reba's brother Pake once, while trying to find access to one of our lines. He was a friendly fellow and enjoyable to talk to. I remember seeing low water crossings around the Heavener/Hodgens area similar to yours where I could actually see smallmouth bass as I drove across them. I always wanted to own a place like that but the closest thing I managed to it is when the beavers plugged the culvert under the creek on our old family property. I dont live on it but still help clear logs and such after floods. Beautiful country in those mountains to your east. I always enjoy your videos, takes me back about 40 years. Hopefully the rest of that tree will not be too much trouble to deal with.
I now live in a house that my uncle/aunt built and MY dad helped construct, too. The realtors are horrible pests, constantly trying to buy houses out from under people here in the Spokane area. They're barking up the wrong tree here (no pun intended)! If I have my wish, I'll live out life here. I don't know the future, but I'm grateful for this special present! Enjoy your wonderful life and property! Thank you for your service as a State trooper and for your help for your neighbors after the recent "big wind" event. I hope that your Mother-in-law finds a solution for her orphaned business!!!❤❤❤ Prayers for health and SAFETY!!!🙏❤️🙏
Daniel don’t apologize for what you need to do when it came to that tree. As an experienced timber cutter we have to do this sometimes. I hope we get a little of that rain in Southern Indiana. I live rural on a farm and I can appreciate the privacy. You are lucky to have this property. That creek is a minor problem. The few times it rains and floods you can’t justify building a bridge for your vehicles. Love your show!😊
I love the creek. It looks scary when you drive through it. It is so beautiful there. I love the sound of the running water. You didn't fail Houston. We all make mistakes. Don't be to hard on yourself.
There is nothing like the country life that's for sure. Totally understand where you coming from. Don't beat yourself up about missing the golf camp. We are all human. There was a reason for everything. Maybe there was a purpose that no one knows. You're a wonderful dad.
Sure he was excited to go, but it certainly didn't appear that he was too upset that he missed. Daniel you and your wife are darned good parents. We are allowed to have an ooopsie once in awhilè.❤
As disappointed as Houston was, he still managed to flash his beautiful smile during the video. He knows in his heart that you would never hurt or disappoint him on purpose.
Your Safe Serenity, Calm Peace & untroubled.. God gives you the answers to fix & you follow thru!! Your PEACE of Serenity is is BEAUTIFUL!!! The sound of the water roaring off the dam is AWESOME!!! Thank You for sharing that!! Although Houston didn't make it to his 2nd golf outing...had to have been a reason for that!! Not just because you forgot. Don't beat yourself up, he is a very good & very loving young man, he doesn't hold it against you. God Bless Arms Family Homestead & Prayers the flood water subside soon!!
You are so bless, i wpuld love to have a creek headache. I miss my country roots when i was growing up. Lol im 75 now and treasure my country memories. So enjoy your website. God Bless you all
What a beautiful sanctuary you have too, love that you share it/your family with all of us; you/your family are blessed to live in such a beautiful place, as we are blessed to be able to watch/enjoy it w/you/yours🙏🏻♥️Thank you for another great video, thankful you were able to get rid of most of oak tree safely.
Yikes your headache may become someone else's headache on the way to the lake. That hot shoe shuffle underwater when the tree rolled was very concerning. Don't do that again.
Thank you for taking us along on your day! I'm happy that you have beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and as long as you and your family enjoy it, that's all that matters. Blessings

I love Houston he's so cute sweet gentle calm and respectful love y'all
Am thinking of it when I move Dan !!!
Can you use your tractor to pull it out of the creek to the shoreline to make it easier to cut
❤ QUESTION, WHY DON'T YOU BUILD YOU A BRIDGE TO DRIVE OVER SOMEWHERE SO YOU WON'T BE STUCK HOME?
I don't think it would cost near that much, you just like it that way! Hope no fire emergency happen when you n animals can't get out.
You are not in any way responsible for failing Houston. You had him out on the pond fishing that night before. Even at 10 years old Houston could take me some responsibility and say hey dad, let’s move the trucks. You are a very good father.

Snakes won’t hurt you if you don’t crowd them.

You’re a fine dad.❤

They say that a man's home is his castle and you have a very nice castle 🏰. Peaceful and quiet
Your father made a fantastic decision years ago and probably didn’t really realize how it would be the best decision forever.
Exactly what I was thinking. ❤️
Scared the crqp out of me wenthat stump rolled toward you. Glad you didn't get hurt. Love to you all ❤
I think it put a little faster thump in his heart, too!! Maybe a little something else in his shorts, lol!!
Home is where your HEART is !!!
Great job cutting the tree and having the water wash it down 👍have a great day Daniel and family
I hope the tree didn't do damage to the dam. Be very careful
You are a great daddy to your kids, and a great husband for DJay. You were very brave cutting that tree in the creek!
Love your videos!
You are so lucky to have somewhere to call home. I am 55 and don’t think I will ever again… Ty for honesty.

Watching Daniel in the cold water gave me a chuckle 🥶 Woo Hoo!!!
I wouldn't mind having sound of water near me. It beats listening to vehicles all the time

Fantastic video. Thank you. 😊
Amen, brother, that's the name of the game. Life happens.
Home sweet, safe and peaceful Home . Stay Blessed 😇🙏🙏🙏.
I live in the woods, too. And yes it becomes a sanctuary . I get to where I don't want to leave. ❤
I love that you are so good at showing your kids what to do and how to be safe about it, too me shows you are an Awesome Dad :) God Bless you, It was meant to be and you're right, your HOME and your Dad Started this for you and your Family.
I love your area, too. That's ine thing I love about your videos. Getting to see your land with the animals.
Everybody needs a sanctuary. To have a creek so close is especially energizing and relaxing.
Don't beat yourself up. houston understands a loves you with all his heart.
Thanks for the smiles. Those coy fish are so big now. Have a blessed day
They'll be another golf camp... you'll NEVER GET ANOTHER HOME LIKE YOU HAVE!! Houston will understand that!!❤ YOU ARE A WONDERFUL DADDY!! The bond you have shows that for sure!!😍
There is a wet weather concrete crossing not far from our house. I still think a bridge would be better but the county didn't ask for my opinion.
Build a trees laying down chain bridge. Tree laying down gave me the idea. Enjoy watching arms family homestead.
It doesn’t sound funny, Daniel, it sounds like heaven! You’re one lucky family! Blessings!
Love your place so I see and know why your family does. God has blessed your family 🙏🏻🥰🙏🏻
I hope that your Mother-in-law finds a solution for her orphaned business!!!❤❤❤
Prayers for health and SAFETY!!!🙏❤️🙏
You've got a good kid with a good forgiving heart.
Love your show!😊
Hi..... Daniel thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
You have a snuggly dog Earl is so lovable He loves all the Arms family 🇨🇦🦩
God Bless you all
Great video. No judgments here you do what you do for your land and your family. God bless y'all❤❤❤❤❤
You are very blessed to live there .Home is home wherever you feel home.
Daniel, idea, build a garage on the other side of the creek and buy another vehicle and leave it there.
I just love that pond of Huston’s. I would love to have one made just like his.
Blessings from Del Rio Texas 🙏. Send us your rain. We're in the middle of a drought.
I'm glad you got the big tree safely taken care of. Y'all have been getting a lot of rain lately so stay safe and take care!💖🙏💖
You are very fortunate to live where you do. 🥰
lol .. sorry I had to chuckle. Hearing protection, eye protection, Crocks, and shorts. You do what you have to do!
I understand home. You’ve got a beautiful place. That creek is fine lagniappe.
Thank you for taking us along on your day! I'm happy that you have beautiful and peaceful surroundings, and as long as you and your family enjoy it, that's all that matters. Blessings
Tk very much for this video 📹 ❤🎉
