On an unrelated note - Pakistan needs to stop worrying about improving its relationship with India, with Kashmir as the stepping stone of that peace process. India doesn’t want or really care about these false carrots of ‘improvements’. Infact, if they have such a bleeding heart for Kashmiris, Pakistan can offer it’s citizenship to any Kashmiri who wants to migrate there. India would not have any problem with that.

Some 2 odd decades ago, his brother was the PM of Pakistan. Due to diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan was not able to benefit from trading with India. Hence, Sharif brothers wanted to have a cease fire with India and build strong diplomatic ties for the prosperity of the nation. As soon the army of Pakistan got to know about this, they unanimously denied support for such a move and said not addressing Kashmir would be tantamount to a defeat of the army which the army couldn't accept. The thing is, army has been taking large chunks of resources to purchase fighter jets and the likes from the government in the name of Kashmir. So, it was, and still is, in the interest of the army to keep the matters of Kashmir alive.
Anyways, back to the story, as a result of Sharif's government to even think of attempting good ties with India without addressing the issues of Kashmir, Sharif's government was toppled and the army took over for about a decade, or so. He was exiled, and so much happened during early 2000s. The reason parliament has suddenly turned against Imran Khan is because Imran Khan no longer has the support of the army, the establishment of Pakistan. Sharif's comment about Kashmir was only for the sake of show to the establishment of Pakistan that the interest of the ruling PM and the army are very much on the same page.
Pakistan needs India, everyone knows it.

I agree Kashmir issue needs to be settled. Its high time now. Modi ji allow Indian armed forces to take back POK and Gilgit-Baltistan and settle this once and for all. After that cut all relations, trade and talks with pakistan forever so that they can have all the peace they want and Kashmir can get on the road to prosperity.

On Day 1 Shehbaz Sharif in his speech proved that he is nothing better then other former prime ministers of Pakistan.
He has nothing new on his hands to prove. Same old things like China pakistan friendship, CPEC completion, Kashmir issue and unwanted advice to India.
Same old lolipop to give to pakistan people that New government is suffering from wrong acts of old government.
He never talked about how he is going to revive almost dead economy. How he is going to improve rating for world bank to provide loan, how is he going to curb terrorist activity which is supported & trained by pakistan army.
But hardly any pakistani is interested in listening improvement, so, it is ok for his political carrier to make such statement which does not show any bright future path.
