I recently purchased the Redmi 10X Pro from the website Giztop.com and was told that they would send me a replacement but shipping costs are on me. I find this unfair that I have to pay $100 to return a defective device that was not caused by any wrong doing by me.
***If this happens to you make sure to get some strong tape like surgical tape or 3M adhesive. Regular scotch or masking tape will not work***

This video really helped a lot. Thank you so much. Quick funny tip for other viewers. We tried tape and it wasn't strong enough and didn't make a difference. My wife thought about the stickiest thing in the house and it's the Sally Hansen cool wax strips she uses for at home Waxing. We put it on, did it once, nothing. Tried one more time and that stuck sim tray popped right open onto the desk. We would not have even known to try that if it wasn't for this video. So for your viewers, if surgical tape or duct tape doesn't work, try some. Sally Hanson cool wax strips. It will leave residue on the phone, but the kit comes with oil that dissolves the wax, and that works perfectly. No residue at all

I watched numerous videos. Ones where they even cracked the phone open. This worked so easy and simple without compromising my phone. Thanks so much for sharing ! I didn’t use surgical tape, instead duck tape as I already had it, came right out!

it worked first try!
- Running something solid back and forth over the tape like you did to get the tape and tray reallly attached
- and then that wiggle move while pulling the tape away at an angle did the trick
- it popped out just enough.

Worked for me!!!! Your tip about tape and forcing the tray back/forward/up/down worked. When I looked closely at the edge of the SIM tray while doing this I could barley see it starting to move up & then it popped out. I used a piece of velcro with 3M sticky back.

Life saver! I only had regular tape, but I was able to increase the strength of the hold by wiping the surface with alcohol spray to remove any oil and letting it dry before applying the tape.

How did you pull that off without snapping the back half of the tray? I have a brand new Samsung A8 and the tray is stuck and since I never paid the extended warranty they refuse to touch my device the day after I purchased it.

Using a simple metal paper clip, unfolded so it has a long straight arm, worked for me. Use it instead of the Redmi tool.
This was the second hack I tried and it worked great! I used duct tape also. thank you.

Any reason you use surgical tape? Can it not be done with other kinds of tape? Just curious. Great fix!
So there's sufficient adhesion and the tape is thin enough to slip some between the small space between the case and the some tray cover. "Regular" tape probably won't be sticky enough to grab the tray well enough to pull it out. Gaffer's tape, duct tape or cloth medical tape might work, too.
I'm still searching for a video that shows WHY they get stuck.

I shipped it back but they don't take it back (Country: Turkey, dealer: MIEKO) saying i installed and used the device (i just started it, never able to take the trey off, so never finished the installation). Anyways i don't want to continue arguing with them. This is a huge design problem i think!

i considered using tape however, had none n wanted to get this over with. my 'pin' broke from another 'tip' which upset me. i found a thick enuff sewing needle, stuck in the head, and pushed a thick pillow against it till it slowly came out. bent the needle slightly, yet got the job done. I wouldn't have done any of this if the sd card allowed me access on the phone. repeatedly told me 'task fail' when trying to delete or move files from there.
That is awful. It sucks when that happens. I am very cautious when dealing with a lot of companies

thank you it worked ,but pin still inside phone tool broke in phone so ill look for video on how to remove it .i used gorilla duct tape and whole tray came out still on tape .

I’m not sure, I would give it a try. If it’s strong enough it may work but I’m not 100% sure.
