It's a long standing tradition of kung fu movies that characters may be able to do extraordinary or seemingly supernatural feats with objects thanks to exceptional kung fu skills. Donnie Yen turning wet towels into staffs in Once Upon a Time in China 2 would be a good example. The guy making the throwing stars from tin foil is an homage to this sort of thing. Madam Gao has lived since at least the 17th C making her over 400 years old, can divine secret knowledge about people's pasts and their thoughts, and can make people fly through the air just by waving her hans at them. Do you think it mightbe possible that she's a sorceress? Duh. Claire's progress in her kung fu skills is indeed way too fast. I've never been a fan of David Wenham's but he's great in this and like Calvin said creepy as hell.
it would be cool if you guys could react to some Bleach fights (its a well known anime) its about soulreapers (gods of death) and the unique charachters and their unique powers make it really freaking badass to watch. the dubbed is really good too actually. might you guys seem interested in it, here are some great fights from the beginning of the serie to the end. 1. ichigo VS kenpachi 2. Ichigo VS byakuya 3. Ichigo VS grimmjow 4. kenpachi VS noittora 5. byakuya VS zommari 6. mayuri VS syzayelapporo (or something like that ) 7. Ichigo VS ulqiuorra 8. Shunsui VS stark 9. Toshiro VS halibel 10. komamura VS tosen 11. Aizen VS all the captains 12. Ichigo VS aizen short summary of charachters: head-captain: old dude who is EXTREMELY overpowered. captain: 13 of them (good guys) wear white cloaks. superstrong and very unique abilities. lieutenant: sidekick for the captain , also 13 of them, are just one rank lower but dont even come close in power. 3th seat 4th seat 5th seat ect. a bunch of scrubs .. espada: 10 very strong beings who rival in strenght with captains. under aizens command.
Scavenger, yes. I'm willing to accept most super powers in super hero movies and shows because that's a fundamental premise of them. But they shouldn't just throw physics out the window on a whim, especially when no powers are involved. Now if the character had clearly been using mystical chi powers to compress the foil or impart enough force when throwing it, that would have changed my reaction. I still might not have liked it, but I wouldn't have disliked it, because at least that would have showed that they recognize it wouldn't work in reality and needs something extra. I don't feel that just because magic or super powers are in a show then I have to give it a free pass on any impossible thing it could portray. To stretch the scenario a little bit further, would you accept a character folding paper airplane and then killing someone with it? Would you accept someone causing damage with a folded tissue? Isn't there a line where you too would find something like those ridiculous? For me, aluminum foil throwing stars crossed that line.
Munzur Baba, "It works" as in you can fold foil and throw it across the room? Or as in you can get it to puncture into a solid object? I'm willing to reconsider my opinion if there's a video of someone getting these to stick into a wooden board or something like that.
Yeah... but it is the show's job to give us that information and make it more believable. The audience can assume anything and create their own head canon. But it is expected that the show give us this information.
Allen Antony I get it, but it's obvious that it passed some time since the moment Claire saw the ad. I just dont think it's a pivotal moment that needs to be addressed. Now that I think about it, when does the show pick up in the timeline? right after Luke Cage?
Calvin is so annoying sometimes. He acts like he knows everything, but he is wrong more often than not. And even if he was right, he shouldn't be telling the other two that their theories are 100% wrong. The post-episode discussion stagnates a lot when Calvin acts this way.
“Danny, for the love of God, use the Iron Fist”
Perfect summary for this season
To be fair Calvin, I tried that folding thing once - totally works for realsies!
Not the same but I’ve thrown cards from a deck into cardboard so yeah
- totally works for realsies!
lol I was completely surprised when Meachum came back to life and you guys figured it out basically before he even died
Same
I've seen several real people in real life on UA-cam make real tin foil throwing stars as well Calvin. It's very possible.
*"It's okay to admit you are wrong"*
Yeah, because you always admit when you are wrong don't you Calvin . . . xD
A guy can come back to life, another guy can make his hand grow, and you question a ninja star. Lul
Well the first two are explained by magic. The other is just dumb
Aaron was on it in this vid. Usually it's Eric who makes me laugh but Aaron was hilarious this go around. Good on ya mate.
This series is really good.
Oy mate, who don't you use your magic hands?
Danny: If I did the show would end too soon.
Oh well we can't have then.
Danny: Yep. So it drains my Chi.
Jack sparrow It drains the budget
little N The budget? Isn't this Marvel?
Jack sparrow yeah but it still is a tv show on Netflix. The budget has to be so that they can make a profit out of it.
Munzur Baba yeah it probably won't. But I'm replying to his comment about isn't this marvel.
I can't tell if the tin foil throwing star works people in the comments are actually serious or are just messing with Calvin
Thats why he was doing it for so long he saw it on youtube and needed to see for himself
Calvin, it works!
I can't wait for their reaction to episode 10.
"I'm alive! Hotdog time!"
When Chinese New Year in ep. 1 suggests February, but characters' outfits are late-Spring (if not Summer), and here children play with water 😅
5:10 Oh man, that exchange. ''Bullshit.'' XD
I love that he has an issue with tin-foil ninja stars but a glowing fist...Its cool!
You have foiled my plans for the last time, Foil Man.

this is the first Netflix show they've done that's going surprisingly fast
I love Calvin but sometimes he acts like he knows way more than he actually does.
Lord-Commander Savage lmao yeah
Calvin does know a lot! Haha :P
Katie Stubbs But not too much :3
Poor Kyle.
I think this was the shortened version of the horribly long murder with the extremely inefficient weapon
lol I was eating cereal during this episode too
See Eric now you know how i feel about Laurel on arrow
yas
Just wait to later seasons if you ware more interactions as needed.

how come some comments are from a week ago?
I Like trains!
This show was not clear on who the "main" villain is.
I'm with Calvin on this one. When I first saw this episode, that foil throwing star stuff made me go "are you f**king kidding me?" out-loud.

+Scavenger
You don't seem to have a very good understanding of how Suspension of Disbelief works.

10:20 he was told he is the iron fist, so he never ever opened his hand? guess he would have been the iron hand and that wouldnt make sense anymore xD
yeah, exactly
I think Colleen is ment to be white tiger in this maybe
Colleen Wing is a character straight from the comic
Was too bad they killed of Kyle, I wanted him to the Lloooooooyyd of this series.
I tryed it these stars dont work
manacha please
Zombie Harold.
Well we don't know (if they mentioned it I don't remember) how many lessons Claire did. She could have been training for a month for all we know. 💁🏻

I feel like they are setting Claire up to be Hellcat instead of Trish.
well Claire kinda has a comic book duo team she is a part of
She is gonna be white tiger dude
I'd rather you guys do any other show than this one. Cant wait for this to be over so you guys can move on.
This Show is All Kinds of Bad.... Damn Shame...
