This is the extended version of “Jesus, Friend of Sinners"! It is the first of many WorshipMob originals to be released from our most recent recording retreat (June 2020). During this time, we came together as a family and wrote songs from a place of intimacy with Jesus. We are so excited to share with you the fruit of this wonderful time in His presence!
We have a friend who doesn't demand perfection from us to earn His love. Instead, He gave everything for us so that we could have the most intimate relationship with Him despite our sins, which would otherwise separate us from God. Jesus, has always been a friend of sinners and so He invites us into friendship with Him.
Yes, even you.

Even when I fail over and over again, Jesus still holds me closer. Many a time I deliberately blow it, but there is no hesitation in Him receiving me. If anything He runs to me casting away all form of dignity because His son is coming home. Oh, how He loves me. He calls me righteous. Jesus justified me!
How great is our God. That transition gets me every time. You can see the glory of God in the room overtaking everyone
Wow, all I can say is that I've been on Psalms 23:5 for a couple of weeks now, I just love how The Body of Christ is united on this right now. It's so important to be able to commune/dine with Him in the presence of our enemies...in the midst of the chaos around us. We need that kind of peace and confidence to rest when the world is raging. I picture Jesus sleeping in the boat while the Disciples were afraid and thinking they would die. Lord, give us Your peace in the midst of this storm, and help us to slow down enough to dine with You!

I don't about you guys but while I was an alcoholic, over dosing on drugs, attempting suicide by drug over dose Christ did not cease calling me to His table...what a friend of mine.

quadrewpleup, there is room at the table for you. Know that God sets the table just for you, His sole purpose is reconciliation with those who seek Him. He is both the Holy One we should fear and The Father we can trust to love us. Take comfort in knowing that MERCY triumphs over judgement. Even before Jesus died for us to demonstrate how much His mercy triumphs over judgement...God illustrated this with The Ark of The Covenant, where the Mercy Seat was on top of the Ark which stored the law. Even from the beginning, God wanted us to know that He desires to be merciful and will be to those who turn from their ways and seek Him.
Just turn to Him... He waits for you to simply recognize your need for Him! Jesus paid your sin debt in full! Receive Jesus sacrifice for you and He is your strength! Holy Spirit gives us the power to say NO to sin! He calls us Friend not sinner! You are a son of God!

Tara, when you finally hit that moment at 14 minutes in...wow, so powerful. The release of the table being set for us in the presence of our enemies. Absolutely knocked it out of the park, you are going to set people free when they hear that truth and it sinks in. I am doing the song a repeat and the Holy Spirit captures me the greatest at that section, and Colten was obviously feeling it at the time. Absolutely wonderful to experience that with this team. Incredible, keep worshiping so that the rest of us can enter in with you. I don't know who was crying, but I think her emotions really showed a shift in the atmosphere at that point in the set as well and I so appreciate that she could just stop in the middle of a line, because He is more important than anything else!
