To everyone wanting tab for this song: Tune your guitar down a full step. Song is in Amin (which is the Bmin position given the tuning). Without making it too easy, the progression is Amin-G-F-E.
im detoxing right now, night 3 from crack cocaine, cocaine, all pain medication and nerve medication...youre such a help. i was hell until i hurd this song. i play music, have since i was 10 and im 23 now. i love it. everything about this man...thanks for the good vibes and godspeed on your travels. been listening since you first started yo.
Im sorry but this only having less then a half a million views is a shot on humans and us as a society! Ive been listening to this cut for so many years now and it should absolutely have a million+ views.
I say we discuss how amazing this acoustic version of Bloody Poetry was. Fabulous! Not only is Grieves so amazing, but he's one of the nicest people. I met him at Warped last year, sat there for like ten minutes asking my best friend and I about our day. ♥
Color ball eposure was limited due to bad choice in PR staffing at launch...that's why he's so "underground". It ironically worked out for the better. You know...since people love "underground" stuff.
Hearing Benjamin's progression in his vocals since he began is amazing. I know a big part of that goes out to Budo. So mad props to him. I've always looked at & loved their work individually, & the fact that they make music together is a gift to myself & of course all of their fans. I listen to Grieves every day & it gets better & better every time. I can't wait to see what else is in store. "Slowly resurrected from the dust, when you understand it's everything inside of you, it's us"-perfection
This is what real music, especially hip hop, comes down to. Just a real beat, with pure feeling, soul, and lyrics. Grieves seems to have an incredible jump on the current rap-game. Rhymesayers was smart to pick you up!
[Verse 1] I guess it started when the lights went out And everybody started running round in circles tryin' to figure it out I could feel it Wedged in my ribs it felt freezin' As my cold air blew out Dance through the evening, paranormal Slowly being called to the green Where the ghosts gather nightly and sell the devil their dreams, observe Hails from the other side of the curb Hold the concrete notepad Scribble down my words in the limelight This is what it's like to bleed ink Put yo fingers in it paint me a picture of what you think Make it beautiful and make it look like loveMake it hang from the heavensMake it break my trustMake it real, make it dangerousMake it out of the rust and make it passionate and impossible to touch It's forever, slowly resurrected from the dust When you understand it's everything inside of you, it's us [Hook] You're all I've ever known Sewn to my sleeve, you always got me running home Handful of roses You're my blood and brittle bones My soul, an open throne You're all I know [Verse 2] I've spoke a whisper in the dark one night Watch it take form in front of me and mimic my life It seemed natural especially watching it's last breathe like poetry Watch as it clung to it's own chest with a smile Made out of broken pieces of tile You can see the thoughts running, chase em around for miles If you want it, people say that old road is haunted If you travel on it long enough you'll never get off it You believe it cause everything is skewed when you see it Then you process automatically, think that you feel it And automatically sticks to the brain when the truth of it Is standing outside, playing cards in the rain You will never beat the game it plays You can only turn around and lick the blood from your own switchblade It's forever, slowly resurrected from the dust When you understand it's everything inside of you, it's us [Hook] You're all I've ever known Sewn to my sleeve, you always got me running home Handful of roses You're my blood and brittle bones My soul, an open throne You're all I know You're all I've ever known Sewn to my sleeve, you always got me running home Handful of roses You're my blood and brittle bones My soul, an open throne You're all I know
I think it shows the strength of the lyrics, especially in a hip hop song, when it can be such a beautiful acoustic song as well. I don't imagine Lil Wayne or a lot of what's played mainstream would sound good in an acoustic version. I know when I heard Slug do Not Another Day acoustic it was amazing as well.
When you really think about it the underground scene is way bigger than whats on the top of the charts. At least we are talking about the music and not just listening to it.
I talked to Grieves, and he said he Jonathan Olivares was just in Seattle by chance, so they decided to do this, this was actually the second take. He said they also did Light Speed.
Grieves, you're my inspiration to rap. I've written music for years, but your words cut deep in my brain , you're so emotion driven and your story is truly inspiring. My dream is to feature with you, my dude. Keep on, keep on.
I feel ya my music used to be till I started listening to Grieves and got back to telling my story and focusing on lyrics keep hip-hop alive and the culture it started
My god.... You REALLY need to do some more acoustic remixes. This was amazing. A remix of "Heartbreak hotel" would be the best thing I will ever hear in my life
It's not that people who appreciate music like this is that they they're jealous of all the attention they get, it's that we TRULY do appreciate music like this that it makes us angry that this message is so minimal, but strippers, twerking, and recycled vices are the only thing that is teaching the new generation

2023 and this shit still hits hard. Rymesayers is for the misunderstood heads. Grieves always delivering.
11 years later and I still wonder who Jonathan Olivares was, where he came from and where he went because this dude crushed it
I hope he never stops making music, he deserves more fame than this.
Because fame is a good thing...???
Just like everyone else with rymesayers, they'll get it once they leave that label.
If artists like this recieved any fame or fortune then we wouldnt hate mainstream. simple.
Grieves needs to make a whole acoustic album! This is sick!!!

Clicked this by accident and omfg found a new artist.
Jason Greene Ugh, that's the best feeling! I'm sure he didn't let yah down either. ☺
Wise accident choice.

I seriously cannot stop listening to this song....it takes me to a place that I want to stay forever.....

This makes me feel like magic is real
Ben Becic Yasss! & that's cuz it is. ☺
You make my skin crawl, a little too close to reality. Grieving.
why am i just now hearing about color ball, what a prodigy
...as most of this genre is a product of his legacy. Sometimes misunderstood but always on point.
Color ball eposure was limited due to bad choice in PR staffing at launch...that's why he's so "underground". It ironically worked out for the better. You know...since people love "underground" stuff.
@@jayhiggins7631 you went deep on this joke n i respect that
