Astounding. Pure class. His father Bucky was a guitar legend in the Golden Age. Good to see the Apple didn't fall too far from the tree. Nice suit as well.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about a guitarist playing IMOER in a jazz context, and this popped up. It can be done! I agree with other posters that more aspects of the tune can/should be incorporated.
Very nicely done. I imagine if Buddy Rich or Dave Brubeck we’re still around, this is how they might have approached Liz Reed. I like a little swing on that thing.......🎼🥁🎶🎵
Very interesting listen for an old Allman Brothers fan. Taking a fresh approach to this instead of trying to copy the original and failing as most people inevitably do.
I didn't think it was worth John Pizzarelli doing this. It was just a part Liz Reed. It didn't sound all that good. I have heard John many times before and he is a marvelous guitarist but this, I think, was out out of his element.
Since it was a jazz interpretation, and John is a master jazz guitarist, I think he was grooving totally in his element as always. Jazz interprets and plays all music - that is the wonderful elastic property of the great music called Jazz.

I like it. Somewhere Duane and Gregg are smiling.

I am glad that someone understands that. Nice comment and it shows musical understanding and appreciation.
Wow
Wow fucking great I like it
Am I tripping or did Macklemore use the first 5 seconds of this song to make Hinds Hall?? 👀
really enjoyed it but he used one of the riffs. this was a dickey betts song
Big Swing Face doesn't know music and is tone deaf. That is why he is only a musically illiterate moron.

I agree. Something is just a bit off on this. I think trying to mix it with the 4 on 6 thing was a mistake.
He nailed it! very jazzy version
