    Maybe stephon marbury had bad reputation in nba, but actully he IS a nice guy in real life(selling cheap shoes for poor kids, donating to ppl who suffered tornado and inviting his cba teammates to us for training) Also unlike other nba players, he is the one who really like the chinese culture and ppl. He tried to experience our normal life and be part of it, be part of us. What he did in china earned my respect for him and many others, thats why the fans volunteered to make a sculpture for him.One day before you are a laughingstock in new york, now you become a city hero in beijing. i feel happy for him anyway

      I've definitely never seen Marbury layup like that in all his years in Phoenix and New York. Starbury always was a dirty player tho. I guess that whole kneeing people in the chest is a dirty trick he learned in China.

    @penssuck6453 8 років тому +27

    Glad to see Marbury change his life around in China. Props to him. But he is lying through his teeth in this interview. He is absolutely charging. That's a dirty play to put your knee into a guy's chest or raise your leg above your hips. Neither is a normal jumping move, so it's intentional and a foul. If someone is stepping under him, Marbury's going to want to protect himself, naturally, but let's not call it legal or a normal play. It's not.

    • @davidvickers8425
      @davidvickers8425 2 роки тому

      Your legs move to wherever you need the balance, but ill bet steph only did it to players who were trying to take him out, steph never needed to play dirty in the nba and he was still great when he left, front office just didnt like him. hes an a+ human with flaws but law abiding. Better than most people you or i know.

    All these negative comments and disrespects rofl....
    Anyone who has seen Marbury in his prime knows this brother is legit. He's one of the few who could have matched Iverson ball for ball in A.I.'s prime too.
    Dude got kicked out of NBA because of his hard-to-manage attitude, not because of his lack of skills or talent, so no team wanted to manage him.
    Always a fan of his, and glad to see he has succeeded in CBA and China, he's much more humble than he was 10yrs ago.

    Everyone is commenting on his basketball play, but are failing to realize his legacy is more than basketball. It's about giving back those as unfortunate as he was growing up. Instead of charging 100-400 dollars for shoes, he was selling for 10-15 bucks... and promoting education with his Marbury College brand.

    Why would he leave a place where is treated like a king>? He makes a great living plus the endorsements and all the other perks of being pretty much adored by everyone there so enjoy it while it last. Why come back for a year or two here to be a bench player just to be criticized by haters when he can stay there and be loved. I am glad he found a place to start over and he seems very happy at this point in his life so good for him.

    That move used to be done all the time but over the last 15 yrs people have stopped doing it,
    but it kept a defense honest.
    We were taught to raise the knee at least to your waist height when you go for a lay up.
    In the early 2000's Rip Hamilton took a knee to the chest and didn't go after a shot like
    that again.

    To be honest till his last year in the NBA he was one of the best straight up. 15 years of that goes through some mental setbacks then goes to China gets three titles and becomes a legend there within 6 years of play. So I mean 21 years of pro ball and I still believe if given the chance at the time he could have done great in the NBa. Even A.I. didn't do good in China. So marinate on that. They from the same draft class so you can't say age. Plus at the end of the day. He's him and he's you. So why worry about him. Live your life because bruh made millions and he ain't worried about you.
