Maybe you’re already doing this, but be sure to check the expiration dates on your epi pens. And maybe add the expiration dates to your calendar (minus a month), so if any are about to expire, you can replace them. (My husband was allergic to bee stings. Luckily, we had two, when one had expired and we hadn’t kept track!)

please keep your epipen on you, physically on you, at all times even if youre just at home :O maybe make it into a necklace you can put around your neck while at home so no need to run to get it. holy that would have been terrifying!

Glad you are doing better. The camera glances across your right hand. I think it's the first time we see your beautiful engagement ring? (Am I correct you wear your engagement ring on your right hand and move it to your left hand when you get married?) Here in the US, it always stays on the left. Tom is truly a saint in your life.

Amy, I have a question.. I suffer severely from cyclical vomiting syndrome (cvs) not due to gastroparesis, and it messes with my teeth enamel etc from vomiting so much, and I was curious how you keep your teeth so nice? It’s such a struggle as my teeth are falling apart from all the Emesis, despite taking the best care of them
SugarSteph B my teeth are doing the same because of Gastroparesis plus not being able to brush them routinely like I should for 3 years straight. I’m almost 25 and I won’t be surprised if I have false teeth in the next 5 years

late commenting: but I'd seriously get sticky velcro and stick epi pens on all the walls around the house, on the iv pole, on the dashboard of the car, like everywhere! . Easier to grab when you need it.

I’m sorry to hear about the anaphylaxis but glad you’re doing better. Love the stationary!! I have two daughters who I think would love that stuff!!
I’m in USA and I get two epi pens to use. I’m told to use one wait a few mins and unless I’m completely clear use other. Always call ambulance after to go to hospital. No exceptions. Is it different in ur country?
2500robin - I was wondering the same thing....do you not have to go to hospital each time you have anaphylactic reactions?? I’ve been told same thing as you, 2500robin!
She has a plan in place with her doctors that she uses her epi and the other IV meds that she was prescribed for anaphylactic/allergic reactions which are the exact same medications they ER would give and monitor the situation and call her doctor and get an appointment for the next day or two unless the meds aren’t working then she has to go to the hospital. But since her reactions are from Mast Cell it’s not always necessary to go to the hospital every time she has a reaction unless her prescribed medications don’t work.

Just a quick hint...use Velcro on your IV POLE and attach an EPI pen there. It's almost everywhere you go!
Ps -- in the U. S. we call those purple (flowers) hydrangeas. I think they're usually one color, but if you bury a rusty nail next to the roots they turn blue. Something about the iron's chemicals.

I have idiopathic urticaria which is dramatically improved by stopping my periods!! I am sensitive to some medications still, like NSAIDS and paracetamol, but stopping my periods has helped the most. There is a condition where people are allergic to the progestrone released during their cycle, but I'm not convinced that's responsible for my reactions. Maybe stopping your period now will have some extra bonuses like controlling these spontaneous reactions for you as well! Good luck xxxx

Being allergic to bees I can’t think of anything more frightening than waiting for epinephrine and Benadryl to work, so glad you recognized and acted on the symptoms early and are Ok

Amy, when you get anaphylaxis doe the whites of you eyes swell up looking like clear jelly, I ask because my daughters do and it's pretty gross to look at and for her to feel?
I got the implant in January and I've been bleeding since but apparently that's normal its not heavy or painful more annoying as its gunky

The thing is that she has Mast Cell activation syndrome where the immune system enters in anaphylactic shock with random things even if you have previously used for example her meds
The stickers are so cute and you can have all kinds of fun with your journal. Definitely concentrate on your health, that is the most important.
