After just 15 minutes, I recognised we have yet another person distancing himself from any real responsibility or decision making.
Hundreds of folk here, many with just a penny-worth of involvement and an excuse, that cumulatively drove the 1,000 false prosecutions, the cover-ups and the unsound defences.

Lord Gobbiner came across as an arrogant piece of work. Even his closing comment betrayed his attitude. How dare these commoners summon me from Mount Olympus to answer these questions! If he exemplifies the nature of the Lords and Ladies of the HoL our democracy is in deep trouble. Smacks of the smugness of Lady Hallet.

I thought it was tolerable in the context. Brusque rather than arrogant; his reputation was being questioned. Better than slippery obfuscation. He engaged.

That’s fine I respect your opinion even if we disagree. You’re right that he answered the questions but his final parting shot to Jason Beer was unnecessary and I thought arrogant.

And said, in essence, he didn't do the job he was paid to do (i.e. read about the case). He traded his name as a brand, and dragged in his good buddy, to do the dirt with an ethos argument.

The problem wasn't a back door, it was an invisible door. Accounting system rely on someone entering, signing in for future reference, recording their activity at every stage and then signing out. An unlocked back door is not great but it's visible, you can keep an eye on it. Horizon seems to have had an invisible door, a select group of people could slip in and out at will making changes which were untraceable.

Was the line by line transaction data deleted or does it still reside on hard drives at Fujitsu?
