There simply isn't enough real news being reported to warrant 24/7 coverage from "Professional Journalists" or pundits. True journalism has a high standard to uphold, even if most of society has been conditioned to dismiss it. Professional TV journalism died with Peter Jennings. At his worst, he was boring. He also wasn't a round-the-clock supermodel sensationalist, which is something I find myself respecting more as I get older.
The real issue is that for journalism ~not what goes on the 24 hours mind you but actual honest to god journalism~ is a slow, methodical process that can take years to fully uncover the story. Most people neither have the patience nor the tolerance for that so instead they just go and listen to what they want to hear from their source of choice so as to reinforce their preconceived point of view.

I used to listen to NPR on my commute. Then they spent entire morning and entire shows debating Trump's claims about how the 2016 election was going to be stolen and there would be widespread voter fraud. That's when I switched to podcasts.

My understanding is: Trump can be hard to satire because satire works by taking things to a cartoonish extreme. Which can be hard if the thing you are trying to make fun of is already there.

Great episode! I do get much of my "news" from the late-night comedy monologues (but, I also take the newspaper...but, not my local newspaper, because it isn't very good. The closest "good" newspaper is the LA Times, so we take that.)

Great video! It covers what I thought for quite some time. I stopped watching regular news several years ago. Anyway friends and people talk about the stuff that`s going on, so I`m in a way updated because of them and if I`m interested to learn more about a specific topic, I choose the source of coverage myself, like i.e. Satire / Comedy - Thanks Trevor =O)) (and of course also to many others in this field).
My understanding is: Trump can be hard to satire because satire works by taking things to a cartoonish extreme. Which can be hard if the thing you are trying to make fun of is already there.
Knowing Carlos isn't wearing any underwear makes me even more excited when his episodes come out!
