- A detail explanation of an air brake system.
An air brake system is a type of friction brake for vehicles. It comprises a two-stage air compressor driven by the crankshaft or gearbox shaft. In this braking system, the air is taken from the atmosphere, compressed, and then delivered to the reservoir through an un-loader valve. When the pressure of the reservoir reaches the maximum degree, the unloader valve opens to the atmosphere.

I am having an issue with my tractor braking. I noticed significant loss of brake power during wet conditions. In simple Words only one out of 4 rear brake drum would actually get hot, rest remains cold as if they are non operational. As soon as the road dries they would return to its normal operation. I have replaced the abs/ modulator valve and noticed a little improvement in braking, and now 2 brakes are operational during wet conditions. Could it be the air dryer causing anything? Please help me out.
if you have friend that have scan tool, try to scan it first. you have intermittent trouble that only occurs only during wet condition and your car store the fault code bought history and present. if there are no trouble codes, try to look on the EBS/ABS live data in the scan tool and do it during wet condition look on to the wheel speed signal, brake ware sensors and brake relay valves. i am not 100% sure to my conclusion that you've got water or moist intrusion on the system.
@@mixAUTOTECH I had it checked last year. The light would come on during rain and as soon as the wheels start spinning it will go off. I took it to a mechanic that had a Cat software and he told me there’s nothing wrong if the light stays on then there is an issue. I replaced the sensors last year and as I have already mentioned the abs valve is new as well.
The mechanic who checked your tractor knows the history trouble codes stored on the abs module but he can't confirm it because during test the code he erased it is not coming back because may be he tested it during hot season. It must be the same scenario that have trouble, wet scenario.
The abs warning light will ON and when turn the key off and back on and start rolling abs light OFF. It will remain off until you encounter the problem again.
It is intermittent fault and it is time consuming to find it or to trouble shot.
Thats why some tech will say... "Your truck is fine nothing wrong with it"
I wish there was a way to turn off the music. Learning a new language is not easy. I'm use to medical terminology not Air Brakes and compressor and Governor this is awesome information I'm trying to figure it all out music doesn't help at all 😢😊❤❤❤❤❤
