I want a summer dress with this pattern printed on it. Imagining a lovely floaty cotton thing with a lot of swish to it! It’s so beautiful Helen, the colours are so up my street.
These turn out so pretty. After your last video, I thought I would make one for my cousin. She likes to do brush lettering and I thought that the little book would make a nice little album for her to do some of her lettering on top of the pretty little patterns. Watching this video, I was suddenly reminded that I have a large roll of plain paper and I could make it just about any size.
I went through a phase of making these “m” books. I’ve never painted one though! Mine were always either plain or using preprinted patterned paper. On the pages that need to be glued together, I just glued some of the edges and turned them into pockets! Now I want to do one with watercolour and maybe write something afterwards in the pale areas!
Really nice art book (and fun to make). The colors kind of remind me of the original pink panther, I guess because of the pink. Keep up the wonderful work!
Lovely idea and I like your mark making. Making these is totally addictive. What to do with them when you've made them - I've got stacks of them - is another thing entirely!
This is lovely Helen. I feel another mini sketchbook coming on. I fancy making one with a stripe of blue (for sky) with a stripe of land or sea colours positioned roughly on each row of pages using the diagram you did in your previous video. It could be used to sketch mini landscapes or seaside scenes, or plants and grasses in the foreground. Not sure if it will work - I may be over-thinking it! 😂 The possibilities are endless!
Lovely and fun! I'm thinking about how you could use colors and patterns/images suited to a person you'd like to give the little book to. Food, sports balls, flowers, birds... lots of potential here, and what a great way to have fun with your art materials.
So cool! Thank you! I saw on a previous travel kit video that you use a reusable, washable paint brush cloth. What exactly are you using for this? I am looking for something that won’t attract lint.
Thank you! Do you think one full sheet of the usual 300g watercolor paper could work? Or would that be thick? Maybe I will try. But first I have to try/train the folding technique for a bit. 😊
@@helencryer Going well, except for the mosquitoes 😠. I decided to forgo sleep and begin a not-so-epic battle against them. Basically, you just stand there in the middle of the room until you spot a tiny dot on the wall; you then swat that dot as fast as you can before it flys off into another dimension. Mosquitoes are known to do that. They are the only known being capable of creating minuscule, temporary Einstein-Rosenberg bridges. Their wings flap so fast that they alter the very fabric of the space-time continuum, thereby creating an Einstein-Rosberg bridge.
what a fun and feel good project . thanks for sharing .
Thanks!

No!!! Don't say that - I hated Pink Panther! 😂
@@helencryer Oh no, I'm so sorry! Um, It reminds me of pink marshmallows?
😂

Thanks! Maybe I'll have to work out a 16 word birthday message, and use them as word-a-page birthday cards!
@@helencryer that's a pretty good idea ........!!
I love these little books. The quote idea is a good one too.
Seeing you make these makes me want to make one. Maybe in the future.
I hope you do!
Another wonderful project! I just love that bit of random chance design that happens when you cut them down. 🎉
Yes - it's the chance element that makes it so fun, I think!
Love them both so much!
Really sweet, thank you!
Thanks!
Adorable ✨

It's from a roll of reusable kitchen towels. I can't remember the exact brand, but something similar to these:

That would be pretty thick, but you could probably manage it if you score the paper really well first.
Which watercolor brand is that? 😅
Best regards
I mainly used Roman Szmal for these colours, but Winsor & Newton Opera Rose for the brightest pink.
@@helencryer interesting!
I really should order some Roman Szmal watercolors!
This is a comment interaction 😂
I should have put a proviso in the video... 'except for comments from lunatics!'
Hope your trip is going OK!
