Rebecca absolutely earned her spot, just as much as Barto did. Luffy noticed earlier that she was very skilled at observation haki which enabled her to use this fighting style, and Sabo also notices that she didn't win by luck but with her skill. Both her and Barto won by playing defence and surviving an attack that knocked out everybody else. Burgess and Luffy by contrast won offensive victories, so the last round would be two defensive players against two offensive players... except that Luffy switched places with Sabo, who is a mystery Which tactic will win? Remains to be seen! (Well I know you probably already know, but still)
Yeah, Chekhov's Gun was originally intended for stage plays, and movies work similarly to stage plays in this regard in that they're both something you expect people to watch in one sitting and wasting the audience's time or creating the wrong expectations is not encouraged. In TV shows and books it's less important because they have more time and more room for complexity
Hakuba means white horse I think Cavendish of the White Horse The only other people here who have Conq is Chinjao and Doffy Yeah Rebecca earned it cuz she also dodged Hakuba as Sabo said
She didn't dodge Hakuba she was still hit by Hakuba hence the bleeding and falling down, she reacted and won fairly on account of that and her observation ability. But she was also the last person in Hakuba's line of sight/his trail off which is circumstantially different than say Suileman getting carved by Hakuba. Oda needed a way to save face for both Cavendish and Rebecca that didn't totally upend their portrayal/shown abilities to this point, whilst ending the block. Rebecca's observation mini-maxing was the perfect way to do that.
Translator for Dressrosa arc was on something while translating. How the heck did they translate derogotary "little girls" as "tramps"? They translate even rude "you" as tramps. I am still as surprised and disgusted by this choice, as I was, when I've seen it for the first time.
I love dellinger design too, Also you were right about episode 666 with the demon cabbage! Kind of sucks for Rebecca though to win then immediately fight in the finals ..I would tired!
The Hakuba reveal chapter and the cliffhanger in the last episode were the last and first chapter of the year; there were so many ridiculous theories about who took out the block. Most people believed Cabbage would win without the need of Hakuba, which I think the arc clearly established with his strength to this point with his luffy/don chinjao conflict and this isn't an insult on Rebecca, but Hakuba is the only way she could win and both her and Cavendish could save face. She isn't winning, nothigb supports them as on the level. Doesn't mean it isn't a fair win tbc and I like her a lot. Depending on the translation Bastille calls Cavendish a genius swordsman and Hakuba twice as strong/the gist of that sentiment, and the amount of time he's survived in the new world/his 200,000,000 bounty to start definitely supports that.
From start of this arc you are thinking these many characters are useless and some of them may not ever show up again 😅 bro forget it's one piece where even a ship matters.... You can't imagine where all this is leading to 😮
Cavendish is from Rommel Kingdom which kinda looks like London where Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde also takes place in the story.
Bri'ish pretty boy
I recently realized that Cavendish is also inspired in multiple aspects by The Little Prince.

Spoilers for the Colosseum finale:
Turns out the winning move was neither offensive nor defensive but to sabotage everybody else lmao
Good guess on the "roleplay consequences" thing with Sugar's power
When Zoro said “she’s kind of my friend” 🥺💜

I would give her some time if I was Gyats or a fighter
Luffy's best friend isn't Zoro, it's Usopp
Also Nami isn't even here💀
I had to calm my rage over your Senor Pink slander
Senõr Pink da goat
It's never mentioned anywhere in the anime, but apparently Monet and Sugar are sisters.

Zoro could just use obs Haki to see, it's not as good as Luffy or Sanji's but better than avg
Like Fujitora
You think you don't like Senor Pink but you're wrong, you love him and don't know it yet
