- We have more questions than answers right now. Austin has been having some health issues, and today we head to the doctors office looking for some reasoning as to why he's been feeling the way he has. After meeting with our pediatrician, he sent us to the hospital to have several tests run. Our hope is that these test will help us rule out some of the super scary possibilities of what might be happening.

Consider looking at something called Dysautonomia. I have that and I have a form called postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. It’s 1 in 100 teens. I’m dizzy all day every day and have had many episodes where I basically got really faint.

I second this! I have POTS as well.
I have orthostatic hypotension. Mine is caused by Ehlers-danlos syndrome. But I agree with POTs. I only passed out once that way I'm not diagnosed as POTs.

I'm 13 and I'm anemic and I was passing out all the time and they put me on iron pills. And now I'm doing a hole lot better now

I know what its like to know something isn't right and yet doctors can't find it. I have migraines that have lasted for weeks and some joint issues and nothing the doctor does seems to help so I feel for you guys on that front. He will be in my prayers as well as for you guys for peace❤

Praying for Austin! When I was in 6th grade I had a grand mal seizure. I had a scar on my brain evidently that when my puberty kicked in, it caused a seizure. Was on meds till 18. No problems after that till I turned 28. Started having seizures again but different. I laughed and told my wife she better watch out! Puberty had kicked in again!! Lol. Had a good laugh and she would tell everybody!! Lol. I know Austin will be fine in the name of Jesus!! God Bless you all

My daughter has POTS since she has been on blood pressure medication for low blood pressure she is alot better.
It was terrible not knowing she was dizzy all the time or would pass out.
It is a relief when you know what it is . My daughter had to have the tilt table test for doctors to diagnose what it was.

My sister kept having this happening to her and they did all of those tests and they said that this happens when they have a growth spurt and that the blood doesn’t get up to the brain fast enough Bc they grow and it is happening to a lot of kids it slowly gets better
My daughter did that when she she was in high school then we found out she hypothyroidism.

I used to black out and throw up and pass out and be randomly sick and dizzy loads of times since I was a child but no one thought anything off it (my mam wasn’t a big fan of doctors) anyways when I was in secondary school I suddenly collapsed and my arms and legs were having spasms and it was so scary so I was finally taken for tests by my foster carer and they said I was anaemic and had poor circulation. Luckily it wasn’t anything serious but anaemia can cause so many problems if not treated. Hope everything turned out okay. This video just randomly showed up on my UA-cam recommendations. You seem like a great family. Best wishes

My symptoms started manifesting like this as well. Turns out I was having 'episodes' for years but brushing it off, until I couldn't any more. At 17 i was diagnosed with type one epilepsy, which, looking back at exams from when I was 8 months old, was obvious, but misdiagnosed because the doctors 22 years ago confused it with my hiper activity results.
Thinking good thoughts for Austin. Praying for the doctors to find the answers and treatment soon! This video made me hungry and thirty. 🥰
Does this come on or get better with certain positions? Does he also get heart palpitations? Look into cervical spine instability and the vagus nerve.
Hope he’s alright! As to your macaroon/macaron discussion, they both exist! They’re just different snacks. Macaron are almond merengues , macaroons are made from ground coconut!

We have a friend who was diagnosed with POTS, then a couple of days ago, discovered she has aspiration pneumonia. Same symptoms.
Hey, not sure if you ever got a diagnosis. I just wanted to say that I'm 16 and have the same issue, and they said iron deficiency, thyroid problems and anxiety (which can cause heart arrhythmias, such as in my case) are why I have these issues. Maybe ask your doctor about that?
Iron is what oxygen is transported by, so especially with a family history of it, this would not be unusual. If you have any questions about my experience, or what the diagnosis you get means, I'd be happy to try to help!Good luck Austin.

ahhh pots!! i have that and i have a very severe case of it, i pass out and ive been losing weight because of it, but found good ways to deal with it!!

I am sorry it happened with Austin,
I am 29 years old and a condition caught me when I was 15 right as Austin’s age called vasovagal syncope, I would pass out and was not good. Got diagnosed in 2012 here @ Boston medical center. They performed a test called tilt table test and within 5 minutes I passed out. Still managing it but watch out.
I hope he feels better! I have POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). I see many have commented about it and this seems VERY reminiscent of the symptoms of POTS. Usually, one can grow out of it and that is what happened to me. But I still have to be careful sitting/standing up too quickly or I’ll get super dizzy. Hope the cardiologist suggests POTS!

I passed out at school last year and they ran the same tests but they didn’t find anything...
Have they tested to see if ur allergic to anything in the hospital style masks. Know a friend who is allergic to the stuff used in it and was causing her to pass out and turn blue

I went to the hospital yesterday for my heart I was having the same symptoms and they just said it was common and there was nothing they could do.
Hope everything turns out OK with Austin. Don't mean to suggest it's what's going on with him but the 15 yr old next door passed out while talking with him a year ago. All the tests came back normal. It almost happened again and then I noticed he was vaping. He had gotten something that had nicotine in it that he wasn't supposed to have and didn't know it.
The same thing has been happening with me for the past year, but they blew it off and wouldn’t figure out what was wrong with me// I hope y’all can figure it out
I think you should check something called Dysautonomia, i just have been diagnose a couple of months a go and I’m always dizzy and sometimes I almost pass out
Have blood pressure tested laying down sitting up and standing. Blood pressure can drop quickly when changing positions. I have this problem it makes me dizzy and sometimes pass out.
Talk to your doctor about postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) if all results come back negative. It sounds like it could may well be that, I have POTS and it sounds very similar xx

I have 5 vertebrae messed up in my neck and I will get really dizzy and have blurry vision and I would passed out and fall down. I know how Austin will feel like

when you go to the hospital to show the problem it doesn’t want to show it self. I had that done a couple of times
You should check if it's non epalptic episodes if you still have not found out I have that and they thought it was the same stuff.
Sounds like POTS. Get him tested and how they do it by using a tilt table they will have lay down for a little bit then they tilt the table like he almost standing then standing and within 15-25 mins if his heart rate raises while standing then he has it.

I have to have ekg’s every two years so I’m used it he could have low blood pressure I have some of the same symptoms
If his EKG doesn’t show anything it looked pretty good from what I saw but it was really quick but the best thing that shows is if he is to wear a holster monitor that’s what we call them in Australia it gives a constant reading of his heart for 24 hours or some you wear for a week where the EKG is a quick 5 sec heart reading
Aside from POTS... my son doesn’t have that, but he has very low blood pressure, he’s been told by his Paediatrician to increase his salt intake
I had that before he might have low blood he might need blood transfusion but i would advise you to stay away from ferriheme
I had the same issue and they said it was called Vasovagal syncope!
I had a spell with anemia 2 years ago my eyes were a weird color I was dizzy always tired felt week , they were gonna do a blood transfusion but didn’t all I had to do was take steroids but they do give u spasms
I also have passed out suddenly after getting really dizzy. I went to a cardiologist and a neurologist and I never go an answer. Both doctors said every thing looked fine. It's happened so many times and I still never got any answers. They had absolutely no idea what was happening. Maybe this will give me an idea.

Maybe see if you can get him a table tilt test if you haven’t already it could be POTS I’ve had it for 7 years and this is some of the ways I feel
Check if he has dysatonomia. I have that. I had and have all his symptoms and it’s not nice to have that. He needs a test called tilt test. This illness is not so serious but can affect your life in many ways.
