Seven years ago I was driving down I-5 headed back to the Bay Area, and I was listening to some random radio station. Every song that came on for like 30-minutes of driving had me geeked and I had the windows down singing loud and enjoying my drive. Then the radio announcer came back and said, "We'll be back with more oldies after this." WHAT!? All the music I had been listening to were songs I from my teens and young adult years. When did the music that I grew up with become oldies? I had to pull over onto the shoulder of the highway and collect myself. I spent the rest of the drive having to make peace with fact that I was no longer young.
I’m 21 and got married not to long ago, now kids call me Aunty and it makes me feel so old. I’m African & it’s a sign of respect but I literally feel like a grandma 😭

About that cracking issue, i just started stretching every morning a couple of months ago after this 83 year old man told me to do so cause he looked all of 50 and moved like he was still 25. But im definitely seeing a difference.
I’ve aged well and missed some traditional life stages that mark age, so I don’t FEEL or really see myself as “old.” The one thing that disgusts me beyond belief is when someone tries to imply that I should be happy to date/sex/marry men who are ridiculously older than myself or that I should be less choosy about the quality of men I accept in my life. The implied message is that, since I’m no longer “young and fresh” I should just be grateful for whatever attention or interest I get regardless of who it comes from and whether it’s actually good for me. If I don’t have the right to have an attractive (to me) gentleman similar in intellectual and emotional intelligence and with decent communication skills why am I dating in the first place? Most people would never tell a younger woman to sell herself short just to have a man in her life. Single women in midlife are automatically assumed to be desperate and expected to be grateful for whatever they get. Reality doesn’t work this way.
When I'm out at dinner and someone is celebrating their Birthday & they say "Omg I can't believe I'm 25 now, Im Old" makes me feel old 😑. But I ABSOLUTELY Love getting older! ⚘🌷

About that cracking issue, i just started stretching every morning a couple of months ago after this 83 year old man told me to do so cause he looked all of 50 and moved like he was still 25. But im definitely seeing a difference.

I’ve aged well and missed some traditional life stages that mark age, so I don’t FEEL or really see myself as “old.”
The one thing that disgusts me beyond belief is when someone tries to imply that I should be happy to date/sex/marry men who are ridiculously older than myself or that I should be less choosy about the quality of men I accept in my life. The implied message is that, since I’m no longer “young and fresh” I should just be grateful for whatever attention or interest I get regardless of who it comes from and whether it’s actually good for me. If I don’t have the right to have an attractive (to me) gentleman similar in intellectual and emotional intelligence and with decent communication skills why am I dating in the first place?
Most people would never tell a younger woman to sell herself short just to have a man in her life. Single women in midlife are automatically assumed to be desperate and expected to be grateful for whatever they get. Reality doesn’t work this way.

When I'm out at dinner and someone is celebrating their Birthday & they say "Omg I can't believe I'm 25 now, Im Old" makes me feel old 😑. But I ABSOLUTELY Love getting older! ⚘🌷

Andrienne I feel you on the skin tag thing. When I was younger I admired my grandmother or older aunts for having them. For some reason, I always thought they were beautiful. And like you Adrienne, I have a few on my neck and I’m happy about it lol. Oh and I’m black! I don’t think it matters to state my race, but idk if Loni was trying to be funny or if she is genuinely ignorant. Either way I feel that’s telling how old she is.

The other day my younger brother who is 17 says he has a lot of older friends, and I ask him how old they are. He says 26 and 27. I’m like “THAT IS OLD”.... then I realize I’m the same age 🤣. I know how old I am, but I FEEL so young. Just talking about life events makes me feel old. Like remember when we had to have recess inside because of the ash warnings in CA? Or remember when everyone was freaked out about the West Nile in mosquitos that ended up killing almost all the freaking crows and there used to be A TON of crows. Talking about this stuff, and then someone being like... “uh, I don’t remember that” lol probably because they weren’t born yet 🤣 when I start realizing I lived through history... that’s when I feel old, but I also love it.

Btw skin tags are a form of a mole or pieces of skin that start forming a shape and hanging off your body in an odd way. You should see a doctor A. Just make sure it's not cancerous. When someone less than a decade younger than he calls me ma’am. Just being called ma’am in general makes me feel old. There should be a law you cannot call someone ma’am if the person you’re calling *Ma’am* is under the age of 50.
