Honestly this ammo/armor/recoil update is really well done and makes the game a lot more diverse and fun to play.
love how some of the community hates this objectively good change because "timmies can now play the game". my brother in christ a good game needs a constant stream of new and returning players

I love how stuff like the default Aug sight was blatantly broken from introduction and how fixing it (plus making it a lot more realistic) makes sweats upset. The gatekeeper parts of the community are why Tarkov has such a toxic reputation.
@@mitchellbenbrook2041 so true, I like using lots of nades because audio is fucked and it helps when someone stays still and or i feel better about buying them instead of just dying with nades i never used, but "nade spam" so many toxic players shit talking me until I throw an impact at their face
I don’t like the way the recoil looks (like ur neck is elongating during firing almost. Idk it looks wonky asl…but u can actually use all guns now which is kinda nuts and great)
Speaking on the ADAR (5:12), if you unlocked Jaeger you dont need to replace the gas block, the Kobra sight is high enough to clear it
Nifty trick! Thanks for sharing, I really like the Kobra sight and it's just perfect in combination with the ADAR. With my guns and loadouts I try to be as authentic and immersive as possible.

The recoil and update in general feels so fresh and makes so many things viable that just weren't before. The ammo changes are interesting aswell. This wipe/update is an absolute winner in my eyes. I really really hope they don't change the recoil.

Im stuck playing solo this wipe for the first time in 2 years, and im liking the changes, the game feels much snappier to play. I've been enjoying the overhauled SKS tbh, and the snow. Snow is the best thing since Streets was added!

My love for the kedr/klin is because of the old recoil was extremely easy to manage and you didn't lose sight picture. Add flesh ammo with high firerate and it became my go to leg muncher. Only issue was the 30-round mag not being purchasable until I think level 2 prapor, but it shows up on fence often enough to use. (The ammo is rarely picked up on so even scaving into reserve I can get away with over 120 round of sp7/8)
It will be interesting how flesh meta will evolve with blacked legs doing as much damage as blacked arms now. I think it will evolve to aiming for the arms and hoping for a hit to the armpits.
Last wipe, I literally killed 3/4 man squad on late wipe whit a kedr and 2 30 bullet mags and 2 20 bullet mags, pure leg meta, kedr was sooo good but now its not like its worst but that everything else is so much better that you can choose now
I really appreciate your excellent work sweet beefyboi! You must be the hardest working man every wipe. Hope you are able to get a rest and heal your poor voice. I’m an unashamed AKS fanboy and it’s the only 5.45 I end up using because it makes me happy and suits my mediocre solo play style. Every scav run has been focused on scooping up 5.45 ammo and stumbling across any hideout/mission items is a bonus. There’s so much BT -> PPBS just laying around that often goes overlooked. Take care of yourself and I recommend you have some black tea with honey and lemon for your throat ❤ Keep up the great work!
Having played a few raids now, I'm loving the new changes. Finding ammo in raid feels super rewarding now, and I find myself spending much less time in the trader screen early since the recoil changes make virtually everything useable enough to make it through a raid. Everything might not be PVP ready, but you won't be dying to scavs because you can't hit them anymore
I feel like theres gonna be a big shotgun/leg stealing meta because of the ammo and how you can get buckshot through the little gaps in armor.
I was thinking the same thing but after using them a little this wipe I'm honestly not sure. Most armors have at least lvl 2 soft armor covering the gaps in hard plates so you are still required to aim for the face or legs, and with the changes to damage overflow and all the good leg meta ammo being moved leg meta might be more of a mid to late wipe strat. I do think slugs could go crazy this wipe since alot of the mid tier slugs have enough pen for lvl 2 but still have a stupid amount of damage to one tap someone if they shoot around a hard plate.
I unloaded an entire shotgun salvo on a guy at point blank range, just pellets flying all over his hitboxes. 40 hits, 500 armor damage.
This wasn't even high-level armor, just low level shittery. So I'm pretty sure leg meta will always be real, but the gaps in armor will only really be exploited by guns that are good enough to burn through the armor in the first place.
Honestly don't think shotguns or leg meta benefitted much from these changes. The big winner there seems to be mid level ammo in general.

With the new recoil update so much more guns are now actually usable which will hopefully mean that prices level out a bit more (cause it's not jsut 4 guns that are usable now). Also guns like the G36 and Aug A1 with build in optics are now actually viable alternatives, you get a maginified optic at the cost of less modability. Really excited to just try out every gun now. New recoil is also much more like other games so I dont have to like invert my recoil control behavior just for tarkov I can rely on muscle memory, I have been doing way better in fights cause I feel like I can control the gun more instead of fighting it.
You may not be the best tarkov player, but i love your videos like this, the time you put into checking these things out and teaching it are the reason i check your channel first.
I absolutely love the aug as a cautious solo player. And well it is also one of my favourite guns of all time. And i feel it is a really good solo gun for early levels with precision follow up shots. Even though the sight is bad it isn't a big issue as i got used to it by raid 3 or 4. Highly recommend giving it a try.
The gun is great and the sight is fine. Problem is only 10 round magazines and horrible ammo until lvl14
@@Wilma5532 like giga mentioned usec spawns with tons of m855 + you can constantly get more on ground zero from timmies. the sole issue are the shitty 10 mags that I got no answer for... also the gun has backup irons on top of the scope with alt rmb and it's ok
Worth noting, the AUG sight is currently bugged. If you left shoulder ADS with it, you either get a black screen or the sight moves into your eyes making it unusable.
Otherwise its a really good choice for when you want to level peacekeeper money spent as well
Vepr 7.62x39 with PS ammo (easy to find on scavs) ,,, and if you find some PSO Silencer , Akademia Bastion dust cover and some Colimator with 20 round mags (+5 Ergo)... The TOP of the TOP earlygame Gun ...
After the new Recoil, there is also good opportunity to use the AK 103 7.62x39 with some silencer and PS ammo .
You can also try an SAIGA - 9x19 kitted with silencer and builded up like Vityaz PP-19 with the PST 9x19 ammo ... It SLAPS so hard, the recoil feels like is 0...
Last wipe, the TKM ammo for VPO .366 TKM - FMJ/EKO was good ... now 20 Bullets cannot penetrate Class 4 armor and can't kill with blunt damage the reciever of the shot...
The ARmor vetst now have SIGNIFICANT effect of the tactical outcome of the battle. A Scav tanked 20 rounds 7.62x39 SP ...until I hit him in the HEAD...
He was wearing the 4 Class Armor Plate Carrier 6B-15 Uley Chest Rig ... After 20 shots, this rig has lost no more than 20 durability.... shoted with TKM .366 EKO or FMJ ... Lost no more than 15...
I was running the 209 in .366 and it was amazing. Died to a pmc and didn't get it back in insurance, but I'll be running more of them this early wipe for sure
Been waiting for your LL1 trader weapons didn't play last wipe and needed some extra help
I've been using the VPO-209 a lot and finding EKO rounds that I use until I run out and go back to FMJ. Does great damage. Accidentally shot my teammate from about 50 meters in the chest with FMJ and he took 82 thorax damage. Trying to get to level 15 for the EKO rounds from Jager if they're still there and maybe craft the AP-M ammo if I get the chance.

The AUG is usable right now. Besides the low FOV of the scope it is a good budget option.

The .366 Ak Style VPO hets 20rd mags with next to know recoild and has ammo purchasable from lvl 1 jaeger that 1 taps to chest through any level 2 armor. It fucks on ground 0 and the first couplendays when theres a lot of pacca and trash armor.

no one saying about hidde ump gaming, u can get 2 per trade ( u buy knifes from fence it goes like 44k per ump on avg) ammo is decent, recoil is rly good, 25 in mag which is decent for early wipe, once u get peacekeeper 2 uca nget better ammo and pretty much not trouble by most stuff pre ar4 so, if u got p2w version(eod) u can pack urseff with 100 additional ammo for raids so, its good weapon tbh i like it.
The Klin is a closer contender when you use PMM, especially since you can attach a laser and never have to aim down sights.
With the new recoil even the MP5K feels good to shoot in full auto!
The .366 VPO has always been my go-to budget weapon since I started playing the game in 2020ish- the AP-M ammo you can get later in the game is so powerful that it still easily works in late wipe. Add in that the gun is ultra moddable late game and you’ve got my favorite boomstick to fuck with people
The sks comes with a new gas tube system now. You can buy the Tapco gas tube cover, which has a picatinny rail from lvl 1 traders and slap a sight on either the SKS or OP-SKS easily now
Realistically, the aspect that low pen rounds’ damage is more impacted by plates than high pen rounds’ damage may be an implementation of bullet deformation.
with the new ammo and armor changes do you just aim center mass now hoping to hit armor weakpoints?
What's your opinion on shotguns? Especially now that only pump action is available early.
I definitely prefer mp5 irons at the moment, if you have high ground on someone its difficult to see your reticle because the snow will make it invisible due to its brightness

At 3:08 you mention that you can’t obtain good 5.45 ammunition with level 1 traders. Something you have to keep in mind is that you can obtain 5.45 PS from fence for pretty cheap!
cant wait to try out the aug later in the wipe just as a have-fun type gun
7.62x39 and 7.62x51 is king in this early wipe IMO. buy the op-sks and dovetail from jaeger on reset and the cheapest 4x scope you can find.
find sks scavs and take their 7.62x32 PS or T-45M1 ammo and just go for headshot/thorax
But before the wipe I swore by the AUG, I'm so glad the recoil changes have happened but sadly I've burnt myself out with Tarkov

Been shredding with the PP19, even the iron sights feel good
mp5 has been my go to weapon since the start since i can buy it and the 30 round mags. even tho im usec. i may try the aug at some point hto idk
technically speaking you don't need to finish gunsmith part 2 to put a laser on the pp-19 because you can simply use the Axion Cobra dovetail mount and put a laser on it simply after unlocking jaeger level 1.
i want to use the pp-19 with a real red dot but the dust cover part is always sold out so i cant
for the AUG in this patch ...... Use the new mb5 left hand then zoom in with the aug base scope it will glitch making it easier to see through the scope havent tested with any other guns but use it while you can as this 100% will get fixed sooner than later

4:30 last wipe the aug scope was actually great when it comes to blacking out, the issue is the fov reduction and meaningless zoom
AKS-74U has been my mainstay. Haven’t seen a cause to use anything else. Level 14 so far.
Omg same. I used it in 1 raid after just needing a cheap gun, and it aboslutely beamed players. I got 8 kills at level 3 😁

i wish they add the L85 for a budget ll1 556 rifle :( it would be awesome to see it as a worse mdr with a reasonable recoil.
The aug was very good for a nearly no modification rifle last wipe IMO and I feel that it will become an incredible choice for a budget 5.56 kit
The problem with it is that once you run out m855 all your ammo choices are trash and good 556 isnt found that commonly in loot.
ok but how do i get a kill with atleast one of these weapons??? i had a redut armor last raid with an ak, i just got oneshot in my head instantly no counter play, i dont think my armor got even touched :/

I dont get it, what the point to unlock pp19 with fullauto rate of fire at ll1 trader, but locked stm9 (semiauto) after ll2.
The same reason the m700 is like PK3. It's just not balanced prices/traders for whatever reason.
I wish i could also enjoy these weapons but there are SO MANY bolt action quests, that i just cant ignore them and have to force myself to play them basically only ...

As a total noob here, I don't even know how to access this particular window in which your modifying your gun, and you can rotate around the model etc. How do you get there in the first place?
You need workbench 1 to unlock the edit preset function on the right click menu for a gun!

Remember, the picatinny version of the Kobra red dot can not only fit on the ADAR, but clears the front sight as well! An early wipe way to use the ADAR without worry.

545 is really strong now since the spawn rate for BP and PP seems completely unchanged but they both got buffed. Its not hard to get enough bp to frontload all your mags, turning aks into class 4 armor killers
we need a mod for ammo to show the pen/flesh dmg and all that cuz having to go study graphs online is silly as fukk, but they did a really good job on this wipe its refreshing. Hope the new graphics nikita was talking about dont change the grittiness of the games looks and feel.

Also pistols are goat this wipe, they don't recoil downwards anymore, they are cheap and accucrate, I see a lot more people running around with them.

Personally, I don’t view the ammo availability changes as an ammo nerf, I see it as a buff to armor.

You did not mention shotguns. They have been very good to me this wipe. I’m not sure if the armor rework has something to do with it but they are killing it for me!
Armor rework probably helps alot since almost nobody has protection on their sides and nobody can ever have protected armpits anymore.
So any buckshot should be able to find its way around armors now
That’s what I’ve been seeing. New armor system makes more holes for buckshot to get through.
