I am an older adult and recently started my 2nd year of lessons with you. I love your acoustic guitar videos the best! Please support Justin if you are able to, he is a fantastic teacher and guitar player.
All this time I thought you had an assistant or a small crew behind the camera to help you with your videos. It's amazing to know that you do all this by yourself. Thank you, Justin. It's no question that you are a very passionate teacher and you deserve so much more. God bless you.
Quick tip for you on the focusing troubles mate, to make it easier. Get a boom stand, set the end of the boom to where you want to focus where your sitting (e.g. the guitar or your eye). Get up focus the lense on the end of the boom. Sit back down, get rid of the stand and you should be focused as close as you can be without getting up over and over again tweaking. Great video as always pal
If you put an x on a piece of paper and attach it to a mic stand you can put the x in the same place as your head and then use that to set your focus. Doesn't have to be a mic stand but something in the place your head will be and then be in focus with that.
That was really cool Justin! I appreciate how transparent and informative you are. I made sure my wife saw how many guitars you have so she'll be more open to adding more guitars to my collection!
You have some serious video and audio equipment and a lot of good knowledge about using it all! Thanks for sharing! The one thing you left out is what you use for neck mounted shots or fingerboard or picking hand closeups!
Thanks for the tour! I dig the new camera setup, and especially liked that new over-the-shoulder angle that looked down at the guitar neck in one of your recent videos. I stumbled across your channel when I got my first guitar about two years ago and needed to figure out how to tune it; your videos and books have been my primary source since then. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Hi Justin.whilst nursing a cracked rib, have learnt whole lot a rosie, back in black.now my back is sore...you're a top dude..keep the flickering florry and cover some psychedelic rock, cheaper than a strobe,,
Justin, get one of your daughter's large stuffed bears and place it in seat. You probably have to prop the back of the bear a bit, then focus on the bear. Set your aperture at F4 or higher. With an 18mil lens, you shouldn't have to be overly precise as your depth of field is quite large. I've been a photographer for almost 30 years and have used this focus method often.
It’s remarkable; in your videos your studio looks way bigger than it appears to be in this video, it must be the framing and lighting, which speaks to the quality of your set up. Thanks for all the lessons, really looking forward to your content in 2019.
Very interesting Justin. I, like thousands of others, are grateful for all the help you've given me over the years. Sympathise about the hair, started to lose mine in my 20's. Have an identical cap. Keep the vids coming.
Thanks for the video. I am always interested in your studio set up and how it functions. You are a fantastic person that is always helping people to learn and improve. Thank you.
Fascinating, more than a little bit mind blowing, and very impressive Justin, and so is the studio. Thanks for the sticky beak. You rock. Hope the new desk set up goes smoothly for you.
Hi Justin, we really enjoyed the studio tour and are looking forward to seeing your new setup after your desk is installed. That hat mic idea is great! Also, like you, we disliked our fluorescent lights so we replaced all of ours with LED. It's a cheap and simple project that you can do yourself.
I clicked to see you without the hat! I think you look younger without it. Thanks for all the lessons. Just started your beginner class three weeks ago, using the app, your metronome, and I’ve ordered two of your song books - waiting for them to come in the mail from goodness knows where.
@@justinguitar My avatar was drawn by my then-girlfriend / now-wife some 40-mumble years ago. Not many of those strands still on my head. Proof: ua-cam.com/video/hEbkeutLhqo/v-deo.html Come over to the shiny side!
Awesome to see your behind the scenes Justin! I was always curious to see the set up. Keep up the great work, you've helped me tremendously and got my little 6 year old daugther her first guitar for Christmas.
That was super interesting Justin...Thank you for all that sharing...it was very personable. The hat is your trademark definitely. Looking forward to seeing your new desk and your next videos. Have fun putting it all together! See you soon! LV, Mary Beth
Wow very candid view, thank you for the behind the scenes, some good tips there. I am amazed at how the digital revolution (perseverance and study) allows you do the work of dozens of people and ten times the space.
Thanks Justin. Love your casual chats! Just curious... How long would it take you to put a video lesson together (say one of your practical theory) from the actual recording to finished product? And for a song? I realise that there will no doubt be quite a bit of planning time as well....
Another great 'everyday' video, Fanx! Justin... Found myself grinning and peering at the screen, trying to see into all the nooks'n'crannies in the shelves 'n places :) Whiz-bang!
Hey Justin, thank you so much for your channel. I would like to suggest you “Are you gonna go my way” from the great Lenny Kravitz for your next lesson! Great rif, great solo, great song. What do you think?
Very cool Justin. I love your brown little sofa! Looks very comfortable to jam and let go of those creative musical ideas! Great that you gave us a before tour of your studio. It will be interesting to see it evolve. The hat seems to have become your traid mark! 👍
You should look at getting LED replacements for the fluorescent tubes. They give a better quality of light and don't flicker (plus they save energy). The only downside is you need to rewire the fitting a bit.
Hey Justin! Thank you for the show around! You have a lot of nice gear! I also want to thank you immensely for providing the guitar lessons - and for free. I could not afford to pay for them. Now that I have ordered an electric guitar with a case and amp, my finances are quite cramped. I am going through the beginning lessons on an acoustic right now and it is painful. I will be glad to get the electric in a couple of weeks. It is back ordered. Thanks, again. Cheers, my friend from across the pond!
Thanks for insight to your behind scenes setup justin looking forward to seeing new desk and re outlay if possible . Good luck with all moving and possible rewiring. 🤘
Thanks for sharing mate. Keep going. Love the channel, love the enthusiasm. Call to everyone else, support Justin however you can. It's a job as well as a vocation.....
Hey Justin,Reporting in here.I have been practising a lot playing with Jam tracks,Im doing pretty good I think,THEN I started a new track with a Bm in it.I would like to officially cast my vote that we remove Bm s from the chord chart.
I still have my 1st magazine ever bought. Guitar school with Eric Johnson on the cover from 1990. Think I was 11 yrs old at the time. Didn't know who he was then, pretty sure bugged my mom for it to try learn "more than words" by Extreme ...
You know, I always had the sensation that the background in your videos (the guitars and the amps) was some kind of green screen. It just had that look about it--now I know they're real!
nice tour! Looks like a great space. I remember I started watching when you were sitting on a floor in front of a fireplace... I think it was a fireplace? its been a while ;-)
Curious why you use Pro Tools in place of Logic since you're on a Mac? Also - do you have an assistant who helps with the videos? Thanks for the behind the scenes look - these are always fun!
Hey Justin, what do you do for sound proofing in that room, also what Aircon? I noticed no heating down there what about in winter it would be pretty cold..but it looks like a pretty good studio. as someone said keep your trade mark the Hat..All the best and love your lessons cheers from Downunder .
Justin could you do a video on putting a pedal board together with the gig rig or G2 ... connect power supply to the different pedals and what all the gig rig can do
Could we see a video of you talk about your guitars? Bit of history about them. Ones that you have now and ones that you had in the past that mean/meant a lot to you. Loving the videos 👍
Great room you've got going there mate, love the wall of sound cool stuff. One question. How do you keep the dust off everything? I myself have a hard time in doing that. Great video and thanks for all the great videos and lessons and not to mention all the handy tips you've given me.
Justin..never let go of the Hat . It's a Trademark of sorts . Love the New Studio as well . The Better to make more awesome Lessons for us .
:)
Your lessons have changed my life! And they continue changing it. I am telling the truth. Thank you Master!
I am an older adult and recently started my 2nd year of lessons with you. I love your acoustic guitar videos the best!
Please support Justin if you are able to, he is a fantastic teacher and guitar player.
Blimey, so much more goes into the making of your videos than I realised, thank you for all the effort you put into them.
Yeah they's a bit of work!

I will be looking for it from now on.

“Hey, how ya doin...,” plus the hat is how I instantly know I‘m back to my first go-to guitar channel, and still the best. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for the tour Justin. It's always interesting to get a peek behind the curtain. Keep up the good work.

Mate! First the walkies, now this. Absolutely loving seeing you letting your hair down (so to speak!) and showing us a bit of ankle. More!
better let me hair down while there are still at least a few strands left :)

Wow -- amazing video! So much detail. Thank you as always Justin.

Wow that was interesting, I've always wanted to know whats beyond that legendary famous sofa of yours 😅

I learned playing guitar in this channel, and I've been doing this last 5 years every day. Thank you Justin...
Hey Justin! Nice set up.
You’ve really helped me with my guitar playing!
Awesome equipment! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for all that you do. The vast majority of what I know about playing guitar comes from your site - please keep it up!
Thanks Justin. Love your casual chats! Just curious... How long would it take you to put a video lesson together (say one of your practical theory) from the actual recording to finished product? And for a song? I realise that there will no doubt be quite a bit of planning time as well....
Congrats for still making great content after all those years. I'm loving the ones with the captain.
Loving the new style of behind the scenes and walk videos. Thanks
You're the man. Really appreciate the enormous amount of top notch lessons that you have got for free. Can't thank you enough :)
Nicely done! Great job! Love the behind the scenes show! Being a guitar instructor and musician here in the states, you're quite the influence!
Thanks man!
Thank you for all of your videos, at your convenience you might do another video of improvising over 12 bar blues? Thank you
Loved this video. Interesting “behind the scenes” 😀 Thanks!
Always great to see some of the background behind what makes you tick Justin. Nice one!
Everyone may be doing songs. But no one does them quite as good as you Justin.
too kind!
Justin - thanks a lot for the look "behind the curtain" :-) Greetings from Germany!
LOVED the video! Thanks for the tour! ANd no worries about the hair, mine looks about the same!

Don't neglect the songs channel, mate, you're the best on the internet by far at teaching songs - best at lessons to as it happens
I love looks into how everyone else approaches their setup. Keep up the good work man.

Yeah that is what we are talking about, do this kind of stuff!
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
your lessons are the best ! !need to see the puppy please .
Nice one J. Your sofa is much smaller than I anticipated! haha.
Thank you for making your website, really helped and continues to help me play guitar!!
Hey Justin, thank you so much for your channel. I would like to suggest you “Are you gonna go my way” from the great Lenny Kravitz for your next lesson! Great rif, great solo, great song. What do you think?
A great "Take your student to work" video. Keep on churning out the great lessons.

THANKS for the cool walk around.
JMO, get rid of those ceiling florescents and replace with LED 'cans'.
The videos always make the space look so much bigger than it looks in this video. Nice space, just having stuff ready to go must be great.

I really enjoy these more personal videos you've been doing. It let's us get to know you more as a person! 🙂
This is great. So down to earth. Maybe you can say something about your editing process? Software, tips, etc. 👍👍

All that kit is way beyond me but your teaching is brilliant so whatever helps you is great

Have those EXACT focal twins. The Beryllium tweeter and their imaging and accuracy are as good as any studio monitor I've ever heard. Good choice!
Yeah they're awesome. I bought them after the first WCAS album cos we had them at the studio where we did that!
How about the room itself. Did you dig down and create a basement room. Do you have any sound proofing, any acoustic enhancements etc
Thanks
Great tour Justin, and very smart the mic trick 😉👍
Very nice Justin
I really like this video. Thought about it (your studio)sometimes. Nice gear. Its working super. Thanks
Yeah I'm happy - but excited about the new desk coming tomorrow!
Really interesting to see the "nuts & bolts" of the studio! Looking forward to seeing you run through your Pro Tools setup next!
Yeah - will do that after the desk rebuild tomorrow!

It's the backlight that gives that effect!

Nah, I do it all on my own, filming and editing. My buddy Jedi used to help but was easier for me to do on my own! But that was like 7-8 years ago...

Ha ha ha. Losing your hair, but not really bothered. Super cool as always! Best teacher on UA-cam in my humble opinion. 🕶🎶✌🏻

Thanks justin I enjoyed that ..
I'm sure I spied Jimmy McDonough'a bio of the great Neil Young down there - one of my favourite music biographies! Great videos.
Great vid :) .I need an armless chair like that, can you help and tell me where did you get it?
I couldn't have started learning guitar without you.
I venerate you. We all do.
Justin, what brand hats do you buy? Quality looks good.....

Nice! That was helpful for an aspiring UA-camr.
I’d like to hear more about the Lazy J. Is that the J20?
How do you like it?
I’m thinking about acquiring one.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
Would love to hear some original material and how you recorded it. Anything planned with we came as strangers?
See the WCAS UA-cam Channel - we documented most of the last album!
