I was all about firing Pace until last 2 years. He seems to have stopped making most of the calls and is allowing his scouts to help him. He wasted so much capital and money with his first 3 drafts and continuously awful free agent choices. He was always trying to be the clever guy, but with his job on the line he did some reflection it seems. He knows defensive players for sure, I feel he is getting better and learning and is very young still for a GM. With Foles and Nagy now I think they can really have something.

Not only did Pace take a pass on Mahomes and Watson he passed on Dak Prescott 3 times in the same round and then signed Brian Hoyer to a one year deal the very same day.
Prescott threw for 4,902 yards with 30 TDs and 11 INTs with a passer rating of 100 this year.
He also passed on Jacoby Brissett in that same draft and he too is a better QB than Trubisky.

Good video. The take away is that Pace felt a personal connection with the kid. And while I don’t like the “first date” analogy, it does show that Pace put personal feelings ahead of measurables and resume which is how GMs and Coaches get fired, why fans loose their shit!
Trubisky has the potential to be a good quarterback one day and probably will be.. Unfortunately, with our defense, we needed Pace to draft a more polished, winner, at QB and not a project as the Championship window is open. A data driven decision would have led him to Watson.
GM’s success metric (Players + Coaches + Timing). The Mack trade shows a critical miss regarding timing (where we were/are with our quarterback). The time for such a monumental trade was not last year as our quarterback wasn’t and isn’t ready.

If you think about it, the bears actually has gotten better as a franchise when drafting Trubisky. I wanted Mahomes coming out the draft, but i wasn’t mad at the pick for Trubisky. I was just mad because we traded up for him. The bears been competitive in almost every game since Trubisky took over the starting spot. Who knows what Mahomes and Watson would’ve been in Chicago. Yeah Mitch isn’t a polished qb, but he does fit in Chicago with their tradition in playing good defense and controlling the ball. He changes the game with his mobility along with all the talented backs he played with in Chicago. Nagy has to consistently put him in good situations but we seen lately that Mitch is showing an ability to get the offense into better plays and he’s seeing the field better than what he was in early 2019. I thought 2020 would be his big leap forward after we drafted him, but after 2018, I thought he’s take that step a year earlier, and we did see some growth in 2019, but I think 2020 will probably be his year based off what I’ve seen over the past month

not even excluded that may be true, and I can’t argue against that, but Trubisky was ranked the best qb coming out in 2017 by some of these “mock draft gurus” and the bears was coming off of 8 years with Cutler. Like I said, I wanted Mahomes because I heard the hype around his arm strength. But I wasn’t upset about the bears picking Trubisky because at the time, Trubiskys best traits was his athleticism and accuracy. He was a very accurate qb at NC. But you never know how any of these QBs would be in Chicago. Chicago is a very unstable organization. The McCaskeys and Ted Philips dont know what they’re doing when it comes to day to day football operations. They could mess up Mahomes, Watson or even Trubisky from reaching their full potential. But the bears did get weapons for Trubisky and yes he has struggled and some of it is his fault, but the bears have neglected the o line over the last few years and it shows.

TheRapper10000 I be watching the tape never lies by Draft Dr Phil, I like Anthony Miller, but he’s not a technician when it comes to his route running and planting on the right foot to catch the ball. Miller is a great natural receiver but he needs to be coached hard. His issue is that him and Trubisky needs to be on the same page, you see he gets too high when he’s making plays, he needs to stay even keeled, and he can’t have that focus drops like the one vs Dallas late in the game. But I like our receiver core. Robinson is your all around receiver, Miller and Ridley are the route runners who can get open quickly, and Wims is your big possession receiver. Gabriel is our deep threat but they need a bigger guy with Gabriel’s traits to succeed in this offense because Mitch likes throwing to those bigger bodied receivers

And TPS misses the point again. The Bears obviously saw talent in all of them, everybody did. The thing that makes or breaks a qb is personality. Peyton Manning told the Colts that it would be his mission to beat them if they didn't draft him. Ryan Leaf said he'd go to Vegas with his signing bonus....and he did just that. Mitch's car signified a facet of his personality. Most likely there was more to it but Pace believed that Trubisky had the personality that would place the game first and foremost in his mind. That would allow Mitch to push himself to becoming a franchise qb. People love to talk about this because Mahomes dominated last year...despite absolutely nobody thinking he'd produce anywhere near that well that soon. Then, Watson is exactly what people believed...talented and an injury waiting to happen. Fore Christ sake the guy thought his eye popped out on the field. Mitch does run but he protects himself a bit more than Watson does. In the end Trubisky will likely be known throughout time as the lesser of the three, but if Mitch can continue to improve he can at least still be a franchise guy on the level of Eli. Ya know Eli isn't HoF material right?
What am I saying, this is TPS? They probably worship Eli like he's the GOAT.

If you would have asked me just 2 years ago, I definately would have called the Bills & Rams disfunctional but under McVay, it looks like the Rams have finally become worthy of respectability with back to back playoff appearances (if they make it this year) but still an appearance in the NFC Championship game and fluke SB appearance. The Bills also appear to be on their way to their second playoff appearance in 3 years after not being there for over a decade.
So yes, I still stand by what I said. The Bears are a disfunctional football team. And if you don't like it, then join their roster and win some games! And if you can't do that, do your fan responsibility & stop giving them your money until they do. Vote with your wallet!

@@dewaynecoleman1989 it's really a numbers game. How often does a team draft a qb? Once every 7-10 year? Also you have to factor in that the qb position is usually a white guy. But the percentage of African American QBs is on the rise so it's only a matter of time before the bears draft a African American QB.

Chicago in the late 70s early 80s drafted Vince Evans in like the 7th plus round or so, and he was a talented qb who had record setting games but was on a team that didn't have Ditka then Ditka let him go. He was pretty decent for the time having a 70-90% QB rating depending on the game and one game against the packers destroyed the packers and put up like 50 something points I believe, I'm sorry I'm going off memory right now and haven't fact checked but if you look it up there's pretty similar stats that i've stated. He was the best black qb the bears ever had and had similar numbers to most of the bears qbs career wise like Orton caliber but then would light it up from time to time. He was drafted so late that they ended up replacing him with McMahon and so everyone just kind of forgot about the guy.

Kyle Orton STILL should have been our quarterback up to this day in 2019! That man went 11-5 in his ROOKIE SEASON with the bears and still took them to the playoffs(Until they put that Grossman guy back in) than went 2-1 in the 07' season when the season was about to be over and finally took Lovie Smith to realize he was a better starter than most of the ones he had and went 9-6 in the 08' season. If it wasn't for that ankle injury he had against the 0-16 Lions that year, we probably would have made playoffs again. Lovie Smith was actually content with Kyle Orton staying in Chicago but that damn Jerry Angelo had to trade him to the Broncos and he even did well there for a little while than the Jay Cutler trade we had. Kyle Orton was really screwed in Chicago.

drafting Kevin White, 1st round bust, Leonard Floyd, 1st round bust, passing on Dak Prescott in the 4th round with 3 4th round draft picks, constantly trading up , he has made 5 decent picks with Whitehair, Jackson, Miller, and then Ridley and Roquan fell in his lap, Cohen is a waste of time in my book, Daniel's doesn't seem to be worth a second round pick, Shaheen lmao, free agents have been hit or miss, Gabriel is another waste of time, Nagy won't hand the ball to Montgomery in an NFL backfield, he wants to run shotgun 90% of the time, Pace and Nagy think they are ahead of the curve for the "New NFL" , when the rest of the league is trying to win, these guys are trying to reinvent the game
