I am super pleased with today’s update. I think Addams family plays great now! Only games worth playing up until today were the tables I have been playing on the HD for the last few years. So outside of OTG/VPX, today was the first day I enjoyed a stock table.
My early take on the update (for Addams Family only so far) has pros and cons: First as to the lag, my 4kp has very minimal lag so I didn't notice any change at all. I know some seem to have much more lag but my machine never has had the lag. So the update is neutral for me on that. The big pro I noticed right away is the SSF kit sounds are way, way better. Love it. The negative I noticed right away was the resolution was definitely less. That was a disappointment. Flippers as they are in several ZEN tables are still rather weak. The plunger is still not consistent so no change there. That's my early take on it. Wyo
Papa Brad, I just wanted to come by and thank you for sharing your thoughts on the improvements of the Addams Family table. Your opinion means a lot to me as your track record of telling it like it is, good or bad, is legit and something I value. I was a bit worried when I saw Wagner's Tech Talk's stats of the improvements, at a bit over 90ms of latency (optimal for Virtual Pinball is usually anything under 60ms), but it all comes down to how it feels, and hearing what you had to say tells me that this new improvement feels great! Wagner is also one who tells it like it is and I'm glad he just puts the stats out there, no matter what comes up. He was also able to post some of the resolutions for the Zen tables, and though it was disappointing to see they weren't running at 4K, either at 1440p or 2.8K, I appreciate his transparency and that stuff is important regardless of the results. I heard the Gottlieb and most of the Magic Pixel tables run at a full 4K resolution on the 4KP, so AtGames is taking full advantage of the top stats of the machine with most tables, but I just wish they could've been up front from the beginning about Zen, because you better believe some folks purchased the 4KP mainly for the Zen tables and I feel bad for them, especially those who aren't going to mess with VPX Standalone. Though I don't have a working backbox monitor on my 4KP right now, I was still able to play Addams Family before the update, and I can attest as you mentioned, it was a bit rough. This is why I'm VERY MUCH LOOKING FORWARD to playing with these new improvements when I get my new (or help to fix) my backbox. I'll keep you posted on that :) Dude, it was such a great feeling celebrating with you and TMCLOSKY last night on the stream! I appreciate you guys including me even when our opinions may differ. I've had run ins with others who have been so obsessed with what they love that they attack you and tear you down if you say anything less that completely positive, but you and T have been so welcoming and I just wanted to let you know again that I appreciate you guys. Stay legit and wiggly! vgv

That's too bad they didn't eliminate enough of the latency yet. I was going to try it tonight but I'm arguably way pickier than you so not sure I'll bother. Thank you for your honest review.
@@neekzz It's subjective. If it plays great to you then that's great for you. He said it still has latency and I've always been pickier about latency than Brad. So I'm pretty sure I'm not going to enjoy the experience. Everyone is different.
@@CallSign_Raven but when did he say that? the review of the new table version starts at 20min. Did you only see the beginning part when he’s playing the original version?
@@neekzz Christ dude, I responded at 330 am. So he didn't say it outright but again, I've always been pickier than him so that's the take I get from his impression. I can confirm the table still has latency and it's still a subjective experience. So unless you're here to harass people for their opinions I don't know what the hell you want from me. Do you want me to be another shill?
If you have the Addams Family machine it is automatically in the firmware update. If you do not have the Addams Family then you have to download it through AppStoreX.
I'm loving this new update as well! Good game!
Thank you for sharing your excitement! It’s great to connect with fellow gamers who appreciate the updates as much as I do!

That's awesome to hear! The Addams Family is such a classic, and it's great that the update has brought a fresh experience to the table. Happy gaming!

@@CallSign_Raven ok nevermind.
Damn nice setup you got going for pin ball
I really appreciate that! It took a lot of time and effort to get it just right.
How do you update the table?

How about the buzzing noises on just the gottlieb tables? Will they fix that?
