- When was Father's Day first celebrated? What does the Bible tell us about celebrating Fathers? Should dads be singled out and celebrated? In this video we answer your question: Should Christians celebrate Father’s Day?

In my household, Father's Day is a family celebration. A father cannot be a father without his children and his wife. Additionally, parents would not have children without God's blessing. For those in our family who have believed and repented, we also have a greater Father in heaven, the perfect Father.
God is our father
👍
Matthew 23:9
KJV Bible
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Why would we questioned this day! Mother's day isn't questioned? This is strange. There is nothing wrong with having good times with the people we love. God is love and He wants us all to rejoice and be grateful and happy and give thanks for all we have, including our dads, moms, children etc.....We are so blessed!!!!
I had a deadbeat dad growing up who ran around on my mother and abandoned his family never paying a dime of child support, never wanting anything to do with his 4 kids. So I do think it is a wonderful thing that we do set apart a special day to honor all our fathers who fulfil their duties and take care of their families. Thank you to those fathers. You are worthy of the honor that is due you not just one day a year, but every day of the year ❤
It is a day to honor our fathers in a special way but we must honor them every single day of our lives
Yes we should celebrate the people in our lives who have sacrificed for us. We should celebrate them and show gratitude and love to them. We should revere them and point out their virtues. I wish I still had my father who died in 1998, 26 years ago. I would be hugging him around his neck thanking him for being the role model of the virtues Christ asked us to exhibit; honesty, dependability, trustworthiness and fairness. My dad wasn’t perfect but when he didn’t hit the mark he knew how to ask for forgiveness and do better. You can’t ask for better than that.
Paul sums it up for us.
Romans 14:5-6
Romans 14:5-6 "One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind. [6] He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Like many of this world's traditions, Father's Day is rooted in the occult. One of my many problems with the things that the U.S. celebrate is that we only decide to take 1 day out of the year to appreciate or honor the military, our spouses, or our parents when it should be done every day. It only goes to show that this world has no real understanding of what love is, especially the kind of love that God talks about in the Bible.
The occult? And I thought Mother's Day and Father's Day were invented by greeting card companies to sell more cards.
Simple answer is yes just as the virtues of a women.
Personally father's/mother's day don't hold value for me more than just being a public holiday, definitely not religious and a business opportunity to sell gifts or support the local steakhouse😊 Why have a "special" day to honour a person who one should treat with respect and appreciation everyday of the year? For those who do add value of course they can celebrate - why not?👍
Nothing inherently wrong unless one worships anyone as Holy Father as the pope is then there is a problem.
Thank you
Why did you not mention Matthew chapter 23 verse nine, I was hoping for some clarification in that area
Read the full thing in context. Jesus is just talking about being humble and realizing that our God is the ultimate Father. Verse 12 seems to emphasize the point of everything that was said previously.
@@kamarwashington I haven’t read in context yet I will look into it. Thsnks
Here’s a link to our Bible commentary on that verse: www.bibleref.com/Matthew/23/Matthew-23-9.html
Does the Bible honor a day for mothers ?
Honoring and celebrating are not same thing. Celebrating father's day or mother's day is idolatry. We should commit and celebrate the days for the Lord only He is the one we worship. As for parents we don't need any specific day to honor them, we can do so generally. Jesus never taught us to do this kind of worldly things whereas Jesus rather said He has brought with him the sword to separate us from such. He is our true Father.
I rather honour your parents
Should christians celebrate Fathers Day?? Are you serious?? What next?
Why is this even a question?
It is ok. This world is so horrible. I seriously do not want a long life on this earth 😅😅😅
First !☝🏻
