I'm ashamed of our railway system
During the day, you can sit on the bottom seat and the middle seat can be folded as a backrest..so you didn't have to stay on top that many hours
Not the upper one only middle berth
This is 2nd AC no middle berth only lower and upper
What you get in AC coaches for bed for one person -
1 pillow
2 sheets (1 for covering the body and other for putting on bed while sleeping)
1 blanket
India is big country with 1.4 billion ppls we can not relay on govt to improve our country we common ppls only can fix it so lets start to make our country once again what he has to be ❤ golden Bird 🕊️
I laughed lot watching that snoring part and seeing both of your expressions. Still not able to control laughing. Btw you shouldn't have chosen railway for this journey better choose flight from kochi to Goa. I'm an Indian and I'm from Kerala. I feel like there's still long way to go for our country in terms of developing railway. 1st AC would be a bit more better but i won't say it would be good. But one can't hide anything right...? This is also India. We are developing good trains for the country now like vande Bharat. But sleeper trains of vande Bharat haven't come till now but would come soon. Then i believe one would get good railway experience.

Just for your knowledge, you don't have to sit in the upper berth during the day. You have seats below. It's only to sleep at night that you have to go up. That's the reason why the head room is little. I guess yours was a night journey so didn't require it, but just saying you have seats below. So did wishnu.. also if you didn't like the food you can say so. It feels like you guys are always saying good things so locals don't feel bad, but your face says otherwise

During day time you have a reserved seat on the bench below. Typically passengers on upper berth need to wit till the passenger on lower berth wakes up and vacates the berth/ seat. Sometimes they sleep for longer time but if it becomes really annoying you can ask the train conductor to ask them to wake up. 99.99% of time it goes smoothly with mutual understanding/ common sense. You do not have to be stuck on your upper berth. If you want to stay up it is your choice but it is of course not compulsory.
They could sit down if they wanted. As the people in the lower births were awake for breakfast, and they could just follow along what others were doing. There is no issue as they probably reached early in the morning to their destination.
The snoring part really kills me😂😂 though its natural

In India, noise canceling ear buds are a must. I use them to drown out the noise especially the horns. Prolonged exposure to noise pollution in India causes ear disease and reduced hearing. Use your Apple watch to note the decibels around you. Anything above 90-100 decibels for even 20 minutes causes hearing loss.
For any overnight train journey, those loud snoring noises are pretty much like the trademark 😂 Hope you guys enjoy your stay in Goa :)

I heard Amazing things about Goa. I have a friend who took Yoga instruction training there. I would love to do that, maybe when I travel there some day. India has never been on my traveling list but Sri Lanka and Nepal definitely is on my travel list.
Please don't worry for being watched by the people. Indians were ruled by British and still victim of racism in western countries. Westerners always referred India as dirty, filthy etc. so it is quite unusual that a Westerner is capturing videos of India. Whatever it is please continue your good work.

Just for info.... (being a frequent train traveller, i felt you co-pasenger vishnu was not much helpful when it comes to train journey)
Train number and name are prominently displayed on each coach in every train. So it should not have been so nervy to find one. Infomration system on Indian Railawy is very good with displays all around (agree, in crowded stations there will be kayos)
You never have to climb up to your berth immediately on boarding. Two berths beow are for sitting initially on boarding and then during day time
Pillows and Rugs are kept in advance. Fresh bed sheets in covers are given once journey starts. One linen is used to spread on the berth and other is fo some people who are not comfortable using rugs (recycled)
Food is inclusie in ticket price (generally) in AC coaches
Wishnu is also Indonesian..hes not a local

you're still 5'10 imagine the struggle of a 6'2" bulky guy like me traveling in Indian trains. I always prefer AC chair car train over AC sleepers for this reason.

Next time you travel in India through train, try to book Vande Bharat Express. That is the best train experience India can offer at the moment

What app do you use for book ticket ?
You will get water and cold drinks in the train only no need to go out of train if you think it's risk....and can sit down in morning that's after sunrise..

Your train bed situation looks much like a sleeper bus I traveled on from Cambodia to Thailand years ago. It was a little weird because they put a local female in my sleeper space because I was a single female traveling alone and so was she. I couldn’t sleep the whole time because it was such a weird situation for me. She couldn’t speak English and nor I speak her language. I was happy to finally arrive at destination. Lol.
Except the bus bed I was on was a double instead of a single bed.
